★★★★★! A Necessary Sin, book 1 of 3. Girl set on revenging the Scottish mobster who ruined her family finds herself smitten by his son!

“Fire, meet gasoline.” He kisses me quickly. “You have a beautiful come face.”

Books should be read in order:
    Book 1:
    A Necessary Sin
    Book 2:
    The Next Sin
    Book 3:
    The Last Sin

A Necessary Sin (book 1) is Bleu MacAllister, Bonny Bleu’s (formerly Stella Bleu Lawrence, Bluebird) story about her quest for vengeance against the man who murdered her mother and left her for dead. Luckily she was adopted by the FBI agent who found her and had a loving upbringing, serving a few years in local law enforcement and most recently as a FBI agent.

It’s been 18 years since that fateful night and it’s time to execute her plan. She is traveling to Edinburgh Scotland to infiltrate the Fellowship a tightknit Scottish mob family.

Sinclair Breckenridge, Sin is the prodigal son raised to take over his father’s mafia empire. Wrapping up his law degree, he has only been looking for brief sexual encounters against walls and furniture. But meeting the new American barmaid at his friend’s establishment shifts his world off its axel.

“I’ll demand more of you than any other woman ever has, and for that, I’m completely unapologetic.”

As suspicious as he is of the stunning Bleu, whom he quickly renames Bonny Bleu he cannot help being attracted to her. Their sexual tension is palpable from the moment they meet. But Bleu doesn’t do one-night stands and so to get in her pants he is forced to court her.

The length these two will go to have each other. But they are doomed even before they begin. Sin is supposed to be a means to a cause. Bleu is about to kill his father and besides The Fellowship doesn’t accept outsiders. Lies, deceit, murder, villains and more stand in their way yet there biggest obstacles might still be from within.

“The extremes I will go to have you.”

Sure at first sight Sinclair Breckenridge, Sin is a ruthless killer, but underneath that hides the most adorable and swoon-worthy hero. I cannot get enough of him. Wait to you learn more about his secrets. I predict he’ll wrap himself around your heart!

Ten words to describe Sin: Ruthless, nurturing, flexible, sincere, possessive, open-minded, chivalrous, determined, protective and adorable.

“The lopsided grin I love so much makes an appearance just for me. I covet it, especially when it’s accompanied by a single dimple.”

photo ans1 he BS by sb_zps2ji3si8z.gif

Ten words to describe Bleu MacAllister, Bonny Bleu’s (formerly Stella Bleu Lawrence, Bluebird): Broken, ambitious, calculated, smart, strong, deceptive, focused, conflicted, complex and naïve.

“I’ve claimed her. But what I really want right now is to possess her.”

A Necessary Sin had me hooked from page 1 by the concept, writing and Bleu’s mission and by the time I met Sin I was a gonner…. Told from dual POV it reads at a pleasant pace, with the right blend of drama, smut, romance, suspense and conflict only to arrive at the perfect ending. With that I mean the author took story in a direction I hadn’t anticipated and was left wanting more, thrilled at the possibilities. I’m very much looking forward to book 2,
    The Next Sin
for the continuation of their story.

Swoon-worthy and delectable hero! Complex and lovable heroine. Excellent storytelling! Addictive plot! All the ingredients for an impressive trilogy!

    “Into me … you see.”

"I'm straddling two worlds. Love versus hate - and I'm not sure which is stronger."

    description

Stella Bleu Lawrence lived through a horrific tragedy. The man who committed her mother’s murder thinks that she is buried right next to her at the local cemetery. No one knows that Bleu lived and got adopted. She can’t let go of the desire to destroy the man responsible for her mother’s death and her almost demise as a young girl.

”I intended to hunt and execute Thane Breckenridge.”

Bleu trains from a young age with her stepfather and later with the FBI and when opportunity presents itself she goes to Edinburgh, Scotland to get to access to Thane Breckenridge through his hot son, Sinclair Breckenridge.

"Into me...you see me," we repeat together."

Truthfully, this story isn't the most original but I loved going to Scotland, I loved how Bleu falls for Sin.

”He didn’t kill my mother but he’s the spawn of the man who did. I’m supposed to be sickened by his touch, so why am I desperate to have more of it?”

The Fellowship is pretty hard core and Sin makes a lot of sacrifices for Blue and trusts her. Sin calls her his Bonny Bleu. The two become a couple as Sin claims an outsider for his own. Scenes were heartfelt, while the sex scenes were steamy and Georgia Cates picked a great spot to stop this story till February 9th when we get book in this three book series.

”After the first betrayal, there is no other.”

Georgia Cates has surpassed my expectations!

I LOVED LOVED LOVED Necessary Sin. It was delightful, delicious and deliriously good!

    Summary

Bleu witnesses her mother’s death because of this, she almost gets killed herself. But the killer never stayed to check if Bleu was really dead. Years later, Bleu has one thing on her mind…

    Vengeance.

She’s a trained killer and works for the FBI. She knows the man who killed her mother and she wants his blood. He’s the head crime boss and the best way to get close enough to him is through …

    His son.

Sinclair will become the head crime boss once his dad steps down. He knows his fate and doesn’t have any issues with it. Until now. There are many rules Sinclair must abide by and one of them is that he can never date a girl outside the organization, but he can’t stay away from Bleu.

    BLEU

I LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED BLEU! What makes me love her so much is that usually when I read strong Heroines, especially the ones that are trained killers, they “act” bad and really tough. Bleu never “acted” to me, she just seemed to be hardcore and trained. I loved it. I liked actually getting to know her and I really did feel what she felt.

I felt her pain when she witness her mom died. I felt her anger as she planned avenge her mother’s death. That my friend is called character development and I got it.

    Sin

Not only do I love a strong Heroine, but I love a matching strong Hero. I totally got Sin. I got his ambition and his issues. I really appreciated the story being told by both POV’s because if I didn’t get it, I don’t think I would have connected so well with Sin. I loved how he cares for Bleu but doesn’t really want to. I love all the obstacles he faces and how he can’t date girls outside of the organization, sure he can have sex with them, but he can’t “claim” them.

I really like the whole claim thing. It feels different than “mine” for some reason and it just really clicked with me.

    Overall

You would think the whole story would be about Bleu trying to kill her mother’s killer, but it is not. It’s the subplot of the book, but A Necessary Sin is mostly about Bleu and Sin’s relationship. Which I loved. The attraction between Bleu and Sin is off the charts and yes there is insta-lust, kind of, but it doesn’t take away from the story. I also liked getting to know the organization and how it worked. I felt like it added a lot of elements to the story and it kept me interested.

I was reading this book like mad and I didn’t want to end. I was looking at the percentage at the bottom of my tablet and I was crying because I was getting closer to finishing. You will not be disappointed with this one. I simply loved it.

Bleu saw her mother being murdered and in that moment she swore revenge.
Years later she is an FBI agent in the verge of finally doing it. In order to do that she has to kill Thane Breckenridge, the “king” of The Fellowship, the biggest net of organized crime and killers in Scottland. But while she is preparing her revenge, she falls in love with Thane’s son, Sinclair, and the future heir to The Fellowship throne. The problem? He falls in love with her either.
And when an FBI agent and an organized crime heir fall in love and their relationship is based on a web of lies and deceit, what comes first? Love or Revenge?

If you are a fan of Georgia’s previous series, Beauty from Love, like I am, you’ll soon find out that this series are nothing like. But they are really good nonetheless, the writing is really good and it’s a very engaging reading. There was some issues with the plot and the characters, but they weren’t very significant in the course of the story.
This book has a darker edge, a mysterious plot and an enticing atmosphere that will draw you from the first page. At the same time it’s romantic, kind of sweet and steamy.
I really can’t wait for the next book!

    description

“A Necessary Sin” is the first book in Georgia Cates’s series “The Sin Trilogy”.

This author is new to me so I didn’t know what to expect. This book is written very well, has a solid plot, and very well developed characters. “A Necessary Sin” is an intriguing story about revenge, power, lust and love. It’s a steamy suspenseful read full of angst and drama that will capture your attention from the first chapter.

Bleu's life was shattered when her mother was murdered when she was just a child. Since she was 12 years old, Bleu knew she will be the one who will revenge her mother’s death. She wants her mother’s killer death and she will be the one who will pull the trigger. She wants to kill Thane Breckenridge, no matter what. Growing up with an adoptive father who was an FBI Agent and training herself as a special agent was an advantage for Bleu. She wants to infiltrate in the Fellowship, Thane’s Scottish mob organization and Sinclair Breckenridge, Thane’s son will be the one who will help her.

Sinclair ‘Sin’ Breckenridge was raised to take over his father’s mob organization. He’s like his father, a layer, a thief, a killer.

“I only know how to use fear and violence to make people behave the way I want them to.”

From the beginning, the American beauty intrigues him like no other woman. She has the look and the brains and she seemes perfect for him. Sin is a smart man so knowing that he has many enemies he’s a little paranoid at first when it comes to Bleu. Bleu doesn’t do one-night-stands so to have her, Sin is willing to anything even to court her.
One night is not enough, so they decided to date, even if they are aware the organization doesn’t accept outsiders.

Bleu tries to stay detached, reminding herself why she came in Edinburgh, but the attraction for Sin is too strong. He makes her feel feminine, desired, special, being so much more than she expected.

“He’s a thief who stole something much more precious than ever before—my heart. I never dreamed in a million years I could fall in love with the son of my mother’s killer.”

Bleu has many opportunities to kill Sin’s father, but she starts to struggle with her decision. She can’t think clear anymore, she doesn’t want to destroy Sin’s world. She should he happy or satisfied she has the opportunity to revenge her mother’s death, but she’s not.

“I’m straddling two worlds. Love versus hate—and I’m not sure which is stronger.”

Sin never expected to fall for Bleu. He’s ready to protect her from her father and The Fellowship no matter what, even if some members think Bleu is not trustworthy.

    description

I really liked this one. I don’t know if the premise is unique, but I enjoyed it and I found it very intriguing. I was hooked from the beginning. Like I said, this story has everything - action, drama, steam and suspense.

Even if I think Sin and Bleu’s relationship progressed a little too fast, I liked their relationship. They are great with each other. Sin is a great hero. He’s confident, charismatic, intense and for sure a great future leader. He may be a killer, but he’s great with Bleu. He’s patient, attentive, sweet and caring. He’s perfect for her.

    description

Bleu was a great strong heroine. At first she’s focused, but as the story progress she’s conflicted and also naïve, thinking she has a future with Sin. She doesn’t want to fall for him, but she can’t do nothing about it. Her heart wants what it wants. Both Bleu and Sin are complex characters, endearing and both are well developed. I really enjoyed the dual POV. The chemistry between Sin and Bleu is of the charts and the sex scenes are very steamy.

The story ends with a cliffhanger, but in my opinion it wasn’t so bad. For some reason I expected it, so I wasn't too shocked.

I really liked the writing and I can’t wait to read to next book/s in the series!

“I don’t know how to kill the woman I love.”

Revenge. For the last eighteen years Bleu MacAllister has been consumed and driven by revenge. Revenge for the man who murdered her mother and left her seven year old self, Stella Bleu Lawrence for dead.

Reborn as “Bleu MacAllister” with the help of ex FBI agent and adopted father Harry, the time has come to strike. To get to the father Thane, she will go through the son. Sinclair “Sin” Breckenridge, Heir to the Scottish Criminal Organisation known as The Fellowship and Bleu’s way in.

     photo 6B858DD0-3371-4942-B2FC-200429789E83_zpsixggc4gx.jpg

Sin is initially suspicious of outsider Bleu and makes it his business to keep an eye on her. His interest turns to intrigue and the pair embark on a dangerous affair. Although we are privy to Bleu’s reasoning, her lines become blurred. Her need for revenge is paramount but her feelings for Sin cause conflict.

If playing devils advocate I could question how years of planning could have easily been sidetracked by her relationship with Sin. Having witnessed it however, it’s surprisingly understandable. Their relationship is ill fated, passionate, unconventional but they are kindred in many ways and I couldn't get enough.

“I love you, Bleu MacAllister. I’ll always do what it takes to keep you safe, no matter the extreme.”

I’m incredibly guilty of oversimplifying this review, there are many things afoot and I for one have my theories.
The Next Sin can’t come soon enough.

As the saying goes “Revenge is a dish best served cold” but not when Sin’s involved, to quote Bleu herself “He’s hotter than a freshly fucked fox in a forest fire.”

Having been a fan of Georgia Cates since reading and loving her Beauty Series, I was really excited to start on her The Sin Trilogy.
A NECESSARY SIN is the first installment in The Sin Trilogy, a story of love, revenge, deception and redemption.

After witnessing her mother’s death as a child, Blue MacAllister’s life has revolved around finding her mother’s killer.

“For eighteen years, every aspect of my life has revolved around retaliation in one form or another.”
At the age of 26, after spending years studying the Fellowship, a Scottish organized crime brotherhood, led by the man she believes to be her mother’s killer, she resigns from her position as Special Agent in the FBI, to put her plan into revenge action.

Her plan is to infiltrate the Fellowship through the leader’s son, Sinclair Breckenridge.
I’ve watched him from afar for years. And he has no idea. I take joy in that.

     photo unnamed202_zpsxqca34lk.jpg
She knows the danger and risks she’s taking, but nothing will stop her from facing and killing the person responsible for her mother’s death.
     photo 149196_372673682845339_967440597_n_zpstitg4ff0.jpg
Sin Breckenridge, trained from childhood for his position as the future leader and heir of the Fellowship, is not interested in love and relationships….one night stands are good enough for him. He doesn’t trust anyone, especially women and when he meets Bleu, working at one of the Fellowship’s bar, he’s determined to figure out all about her, even though he feels an intense attraction for her.
“… it’s all about the right move at the right time—pacing and patience. I’ll read his emotions and body language to know what needs to come next. A necessary sin what tonight is.”

Blue’s plan to seduce Sin and use him as a way to get in with the Fellowship takes a route she never expected.
“I knew there was a possibility I might have to get into bed with the enemy, but I had no idea I’d be this electrified about doing so.”
She never imagined the emotions she would feel towards Sin.
     photo 51d3be3cf54fd8fee98a8a0f43b8175e_zpsl4dkwl54.jpg
I loved seeing Bleu and Sin together. Watching them dealing with the dangers that face them and having to face up to the feelings they have for each other. The fact that the story is told in alternating POV of Bleu and Sin gives you an even better picture of how their relationship build-up.
     photo unnamed_zpsufm3xvyz.jpg
A thrilling mix of passion, sexy moments, suspense and heart-pounding action.
This is an enthralling novel that will keep you mesmerized. And I can’t wait for the next installment!

    My favorite quote:

“We’re very much like a flame in the wind. We danced and burned brightly but one large gust and we’re extinguished.”

    Title: A Necessary Sin
    Series: The Sin Trilogy #1
    Author: Georgia Cates
    Release date: December 29 , 2014
    Rating: 3 stars
    Cliffhanger: No

Georgia Cates wowed me a couple years ago with her book
Beauty from Pain. That was my first book by her and I devoured every delicious morsel of that story. It wasn't something that was completely unique from any other books I've read with the temporary sexual arrangement that quickly gets emotional trope. Nevertheless, it managed to trigger every emotion I was meant to feel and the passion between the MCs had an intensity to it that got my hearty approval. So I was more than excited to see that she had a new release for me to check out. Not only is it set in the organized crime world which had become a fairly new obsession with me, but it had a strong revenge theme in it. Sold. I'm almost incapable of turning away from that in books.

The general sum up of the plot is this:

Stella (Bleu) mother is murdered when she was a little girl, and she was left for dead. Although she survived, a piece of her humanity died with her mother.

Most children are too naïve to recognize the moment they are being ruined for the rest of their lives. I wasn't that lucky.

She became obsessed with the idea of revenge and retribution and was willing to break society's laws and moral codes to get what she wanted. Her life's goal was destroying the man who destroyed her. And that plan was ingratiating herself into the Fellowship (an organized crime brotherhood in Scotland) through her target's son: Sinclair Breckenridge.

I did like her character. She didn't have a weak bone in her body, and she was intelligent. Although she did come off as completely cold and calculating through the entire book, I found myself enjoying her strength and her lady balls of steel. She seriously had no fear or hesitation in her plans. Even though the heroine didn't give me the warm fuzzies, she stayed consistent and it really made her come to life and feel naturalistic to me.

Sin was a difficult one. In the beginning, I didn't care for his personality much. He was this power hungry, egocentric man who used women as playthings. But he was exactly what I expected, it fit, so I was fine with that. Sin is the next in line to take over the family empire and he was raised to be ruthless and untrusting. I have to say he met his match in those personality traits with Bleu. I thought they complimented each other well, but very quickly, they both start developing unwanted feelings. They see a similar soul in each other and reluctantly, admiration and a fast growing obsession begins.

Now, feelings are involved that neither expected or desired and all they can do is hope that they can find a way to hold on to each other with all the massive things standing in their way. Secrets. The Brotherhood. Revenge. Lies. How could they ever muddle through the mess that they've sunk into?

While I didn't dislike the book, it wasn't really as exciting as I thought it was going to be. What I was expecting was maybe a lightly dark (if that makes sense) mafia book that had that emotional punch that I felt from BFP. What I got was a mafia book that was attempting to be dark, and mostly in the beginning achieved that, but as the book wore on, the hero Sinclair (Sin) felt less and less like that hard and cold man he was portrayed as, and became a soft version of himself. I wasn't feeling that. The man is supposed to be hardcore. A man who was raised by criminals and is willing to kill if necessary. But after being strung along by the heroine in her plot for revenge, very quickly starts to melt like a pat of butter. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind it, but not when it doesn't stay true to the characterization that we were meant to believe. I mean, when her true identity was revealed? Eh. It was kind of a letdown. I was excepting a little more from that, it fell pretty flat.

    Also,

So, while it wasn't quite what I had hoped, I liked it enough to continue on with the next book. I'm definitely curious to see where the story will turn in the second in the trilogy.

Bleu had a horrible event happen when she was very young but since that minute she has been nothing but focused. And that is on revenge.

Bleu is a little emotional distant but when you know why, it's understandable. Still, it's a little hard to warm up to her. I did find myself pulling for her but for a different reason!

    description

And that reason is Sin...OMG, he is sooo sweet and romantic even though he just seems like a player at first. I was really not expecting him and now I know why people like this book!

I just have a thing for guys that fall in love for the first time. The awkwardness and just the crazy things that come out of their mouths. But Sin handled things pretty well and it's easy to see why Bleu fell for him. And as always, I was happy to get his POV as well as Bleu's.

Of course, there are obstacles...some pretty serious ones at that. I thought Bleu took care of what she could and I liked that she couldn't go through with the other.

I was hesitant to read this book because of the mafia type tone I've heard about. Luckily, it didn't overwhelm the story and they're Scottish so bonus points there! ;)

    description

I thought some of the customs were interesting but I LOVED, loved, LOVED the "into me you see". It gave me chills every time they said it!

The ending was great but yes, it is a cliffy. Luckily, I didn't have to wait for the next book and you won't have to either! ;)

Bleu MacAllister aka Bleubird/Bonny Bleu is a 25 yr. old woman living in Memphis, Tennessee who was raised by her adopted family after a tragedy forever changes her life at the age of seven. Her memories haunt her, and this tragedy changes her view of the world, and from then on she dedicates her entire existence to revenge. Her mission in life is to find the man who wronged her, and make him pay. She believes this is a man named Thane Breckenridge who is the head of an organized crime family in Edinburgh Scotland.

     photo e20c45af-59de-429e-98d0-831bc3c1b801.jpg

For years Bleu has been obsessed with retaliating against Thane. She has been consumed with dark, vengeful thoughts for the past 18 years. She has trained as an FBI agent to be a chameleon & blend in with monsters. She decides she is ready to take action, and heads to Scotland to infiltrate this notorious crime family that calls themselves The Fellowship. Bleu thinks her best bet to get close to Thane is through his son Sinclair Breckenridge aka Sin. Sin is a 26 yr. old ruthless, intelligent, gorgeous, Scottish attorney being groomed to be the organizations next criminal defender, and eventually the next leader of this brotherhood. Bleu gets a job at a bar he frequents called Duncan's hoping she can catch his attention, & of course this doesn't take long in the skimpy outfit she wears for work.

     photo b4fa9911-8cb9-4363-a29b-15060e45ab33.jpg

Sin is instantly taken with Bleu and she must play the role to get her revenge. Bleu is emotionally detached & hasn't ever had any interest in romantic relationships, but knows she's going to have to get in bed with the enemy to execute her plan. She's been watching and following Sin & his father for years, and thinks it will be easy to destroy them. She didn't count on feeling anything other than revulsion for Sin, so when she starts developing real feelings for him, she doesn't know what to do. She craves this man & can't get enough of him mentally or physically.

     photo 55f4c375-abbc-4ac0-b289-2f4368db5b51.jpg

Sin & Bleu actually have a lot in common, and enjoy spending time together. She had no idea that in her thirst & quest for revenge her heart would get in the way. Sin is so much more than she expected. She thought he would be this cold unfeeling monster, & he turned out to be a loving guy who will do anything to protect her & care for her. I just adored Sin! He is a sexy bad boy that falls hard for Bleu. I can't wait for the next book!

I'm stella Bleu Lawrence MacAllister, former Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

I thought this would be one of those books where you strongly despise the male character but yeah in this book that wasn't the case, I fell under his spell, he wasn't the monster I envisioned him to be..

HE'S THE SPAWN OF A MONSTER

I'm a twenty-five year old virgin and my first sexual encounter is going to be with the son of my mother's killer.

Rule's Bleu stands by for survival (A skilled Assassin)

    RULE NUMBER ONE:
Lies are like boomerangs, you better throw them out as hard and as far as you can because they always return eventually.
    RULE NUMBER TWO:
Always know my boundaries and never allow the line to become blurred.
    RULE NUMBER THREE:
When undercover, you'd better have a map because there are alot of ways to get lost.
    RULE NUMBER FOUR:
It is not a lie if you believe it. I am who I say I am and I have no motive.
    RULE NUMBER FIVE:
Know and understand that Sin's a special kind of animal.
    RULE NUMBER SIX:
Be headstrong, but vulnerable, confident but cautious.
    RULE NUMBER SEVEN:
Know and understand, that I'm straddling two worlds - his and mine
    RULE NUMBER EIGHT:
Conceal any personal feelings I have
    RULE NUMBER NINE:
Say or do whatever's necessary to sell it.
    RULE HUMBER TEN:
It's all about the right move at the right time - pacing and patience.

    A SECRET REVEALED

I did not see that secret, so there he is pulling down his pants sitting on the edge of the bed and he mentions "There's a reason I prefer a quick f*ck instead of bringing a women home to my bed."

Soooo here I was thinking he had a small willy or couldn't get hard!! LOL

I choose to keep this secret because of a rival - or even my own brother's could see it as a weakness.

What an awesome start to the New Year I'm definitely sitting on tender hooks awaiting patiently for the next instalment of this!!

    3 to 3.5 STARS

I loved this author's Beauty series and was highly anticipating this book. Was it fantastic? Did it live up to my expectations? Not really. It wasn't amazing but it was good enough to make me want to continue with the series.
The whole revenge plot line is a good one, especially when the woman doing the avenging is a kick-ass heroine. However, considering how top secret and exclusive the Brotherhood is, I was expecting at least some serious muscle work in order for Bleu to penetrate them so well. She basically got in with a smile which left me underwhelmed and doubtful.

Sinclair Breckenridge was an interesting character and it didn't take much for him to fall for Bleu. I liked how both him and Bleu fell for each other outside their comfort zones. It'll be interesting to see how Sin really feels once he gets used to how the situation ended in this book. And even though I liked this, I found it lagged in some places. In all honesty, I couldn't tear my eyes away from my kindle for the last 10%, but I can't say the same for the previous 90%.
Sin and Bleu had chemistry but nothing explosive, so what was the problem? Not sure. It was an interesting plot, albeit some holes present, the pacing was okay for the most part and it was steamy without the sex overwhelming the actual story.

I have some very strong suspicions as to what really happened with Bleu's mom. I think it becomes quite obvious less than halfway through the book. And because this ended on a cliffy, I am very interested in how everything's going to pan out. I hope Bleu sees the clues laying around for her and gets past her obsession to truly see the truth.
The Next Sin, book 2 in the series releases February 9/15.

Wow! What a great story! This book had mystery & suspense, a taboo love affair and a whole lot of conflicted feelings. The heroine was strong and a total badass, not some weak damsel in distress. Pair her with a strong, yet vulnerable, Alpha hero, and I was in heaven!

I was torn as I listened to this story, unable to decide if I wanted Bleu to succeed or fail in her mission to avenge her mother's death. She has dedicated her life to her training , so that she can kill her mother's killer. Her mother's murderer thought that he had killed her as well, but she was saved. From that point forward, she knew that the only thing she wanted in life was to kill the man that destroyed her life.

Bleu assimilates herself into a world of organized crime, infiltrating the criminal organization led by her mother's killer, Thane. To gain access to he Mark, she begins dating his son, Sinclair. It may disgust her, but she's willing to sacrifice her mind and body to get close enough to snuff the life out of the man who so cruelly killed her mother.

Despite her best efforts to keep Sinclair out of her heart, Bleu soon finds herself falling for a man she's sworn to hate. When her lies and betrayals come to light, the hunter becomes the hunted. The only person standing between Bleu and her certain death is Sinclair, the man who loves her and promised to kill her.

This book was far more emotional than I had anticipated and I loved every minute. I could not pull myself away from this story and jumped right into the second book. Overall, it was great! If you like mystery, and a little suspense in your romances, this is a good choice.

I was completely pulled in from the first page, "A Necessary Sin" such fitting name…. Georgia Cates is a astounding storyteller, the plot was so exhilarating, a sizzling romantic mafia suspense written in dual POV, which has mystery, some drama of course, and love –Bleu and Sin, these two have chemistry that burns off the pages, there is so much going on in this book that I am still questioning, I can't wait to see how their relationship continues to unfold. ;)

    The characters:

Bleu McAllister – A vengeful, headstrong, tough and beautiful female, fuelled by revenge!

Sinclair (Sin) Breckenridge – Sin Sin … OH MY … Just is name... makes my heart swell with pleasure! Arrogant cocky bastard, but also complicated just the way I like them, he is someone we fall for hard!

“Sinclair is simultaneously all I could want in a man while I despise everything that makes him the person he is. I’m straddling two worlds. Love versus hate – and I’m not sure which is stronger.”

    I anxiously wait for the next installment;
I love it and highly recommend it!

Sexy. Sizzling. Titillating. Suspenseful. Sinful. These are a few words to describe Necessary Sin by Georgia Cates. Georgia will and always be one of my go to authors because her stories are always laced with a decadent, sexy, and intriguing story line and for this particular story, readers are in for a treat as one woman’s quest for vengeance leads her into the arms of her enemy. I will not say much about this book because this is one sinful journey that readers must embark on with Bleu as she discovers that sometimes it is necessary to sin especially if it’s in the arms of Sinclair Breckenridge.

Finally, a story that had me so intrigued that I couldn’t stop reading!!!
Blue is seeking to avenge her mother’s murder and almost her own. She knew the identity of the man responsible behind (I don’t know how...) and in order to kill him she had to go in through his son, Sinclair.

The first part was fast paced, well written, dual pov, the story took place in Scotland and was intense, suspenseful, with steamy scenes.

Blue was a strong and tough character, determined to reach her target.
Sinclair was a powerful and dangerous character and very protective over Blue.
I liked their connection and the changes in their characters as they were falling for each other.

There were a few inconsistencies in the story and I would have preferred a little more development regarding the MCs.

    Plot & Cast

    Bleu Macallister

We meet our FMC, Bleu, as a young girl baking cookies with her mama, cookies she will never eat & a mama that will be dead before the timer beeps.

Left for dead, the FMC devotes the next 18 years of her life to one thing - revenge. She devotes her youth to training her body to become a powerful, lithe, and agile machine. She devotes her career and education choices to become as perceptive as she is deceptive.

Revenge is the war line in the sand. Her mind and body her weapons. Her enemy's son, Sin, the perfect infiltration vehicle. But what happens when the heart isn't in on the plan? Will the line in the sand move with her as she infiltrates the enemy side, or will she find herself moving deeper and deeper into enemy territory and further and further away from her line?

    Sinclair Breckenridge

Meet Sin, son of the leader of the Scottish brotherhood and next in line for the throne. He's never had a relationship. Never loved. He has one priority, one loyalty - his brotherhood. When it comes to women, he doesn't take them to bed, doesn't woo them, doesn't date and certainly doesn't love; he takes them in some closet or office for his pleasure and is done.

Then he meets Bleu. She begins as a mere seductively enticing challenge. Someone who dares to say no, dares to demand more. He agrees to woo her before he gets his pleasure. He agrees to pleasure her before himself.

He's bewitched. He knows he can't keep her forever, but with each day, he wants to keep her longer and longer and decides to share more and more of his life with her.

It's a problem because the brotherhood doesn't allow outsiders beyond causal fucks, and these two are playing a dangerous and deadly game of house with each other.

    The question becomes...

What's stronger? Love for a son or hate for a father .... Love for a woman or love for brotherhood.

Does it even matter if neither survive to decide!

^^^ That sounds like one hell'of'a book, right? So why the 3 stars?

    The Devil

I absolutely loved the premise of the plot here and the character profiles. The devil is in the details of the plot and relationship progression, specifically character transitions and development.

From the moment he moves her in with him to his home, the author starts to fail to give readers the development, mental processes, and understanding needed to buy into this forbidden fruit affair.

The author fails to give us the R&R behind the characters transitions and changes. There are huge holes in the character development that make it impossible to understand, much lessfeel , why these characters do what they do.

    Bleu...

For someone with nothing but revenge on her mind for eighteen years, she spends all her time playing house and VERY LITTLE trying to advance her revenge goals beyond chatter in her head. It's unbelievable that just three months would rob her of a goal 18 years in the making so completely and quickly, especially considering she now has had access to her enemy & opportunity multiple times.

Mentally, the author doesn't give a bridge between the FMC's plan of revenge and the snag of falling in love. A line here and there about her not understanding why she cares so much before she eventually concedes she loves him just doesn't cut it. The danger elements may explain some of the realizations and advancement, but it's just not enough without some insight mentally.

    Sin....

Sin's character has a similar transition problem.

A- We do not get the mental bridges to take us from each - 1) just wanting to fuck her 2) wanting to protect and cherish her as long as he can 3) playing house with her and putting his entire life on the line for her 4) loving her in a forever sense that betrays everything he has ever believed in.

B - As a person/individual character, we do not get bridges from cold hearted killer with no loyalty beyond his brotherhood and so distrustful that his own mother doesn't know about his handicap -to- a snuggly lover with loyalty to a woman he's known weeks and being so trusting of her that he will do ANYTHING for her.

The devil in the details is what prevented me from giving this the four or five stars it would've otherwise earned :(

    Don't Do That Lol

Whew, the mom's... Ah... Scottish'y voice. No, just no. It was hard to read and annoying. All the other characters were perfectly fine in voice, but the mom? Wth did the author do that?!?

    Spoiler Section

I loved that the male MC wasn't physically perfect. It added a unique element to the story, but I don't think the author capitalized on the symbolic trust it could've been between the MCs.

The ending? Excellent cliffhanger, but I was left shaking my head at the FMC. She's ex FBI; where's the mental acuity????? She brags that he'd never find her instead of asking HOW he found out who she was and WHO all knows... WTF? She's terrified to stay because her betrayal is out in the open and now she's the one that has to worry about revenge, but she doesn't even put 2 and 2 together that they know who her family is if they know who she is. Yet, she walks out without a single question. Crazy. I hope that book two shows she had some plan in place already for her family or something to explain why an FBI agent wouldn't realize that her family is in jeopardy now.

    The End

This is part of a trilogy and ends on a cliffhanger. All three parts are published. In fact, I'm reading this as a trilogy bundle available on KU.

    Bottom Line

Good but could've been better. If you 1) like revenge theme and falling for the enemy kinda plots 2) like strong female leads 3) like mob'ish settings 4) don't need a lot of character development to guide you through personality character changes, then you'll be good to go.

A Necessary Sin (The Sin Trilogy #1) by Georgia Cates
    5 stars!!

    “Into me … you see,”

My first five star read of 2015 goes to…Georgia Cates!! I have had this book on my kindle for a few weeks and was eager for it to get to the top of my list. I loved Georgia’s Beauty from Pain series so was itching to get my grabby hands on this one. Cover lust, check…Blurb lust, check…Book LOVE, check!!

I have to say that this was a fantastic read and for me is by far Georgia’s best book yet. For a first book in series this book serves its purpose by the bucket load. It is an addictive read; I could not put it down. The plot had me hooked as did the characters, there was nothing I disliked about this book and at the end all I was left wanting for, was more.

Bleu MacAllister is one ballsy woman, since she was twelve years old she has had one mission in life and that was to avenge her mother’s death. She has trained in martial arts, she was a police officer, she worked for the FBI, but to her these were not jobs, they were training. She has done everything she can to make herself the ultimate killer. She is strong, she is emotionally detached, she is fierce but most of all she is determined. Her mother’s death affected her in more ways than one and that one event has led her to be the woman that she is today. Her adopted fathers ailing health means that she has to bring her mission forward…revenge is near…off to Scotland she goes.

“Telling him I intended to hunt and execute Thane Breckenridge was the straw that broke the camel’s back.”

I loved the setting for this book, being from the UK and recently attending the book signing event in Edinburgh, I could picture a lot of the scenes in this book and they only brought back fond memories. I love it when I can actually picture the surroundings; it always makes the book seem more real.

The family that she needs to infiltrate are a mafia type and are very security conscious. They are only friends with people within the group, they can only marry within the group, they are extremely intrinsic and this is all through fear of competitors and enemies finding a way in. There are rules and these are to never be broken but Bleu believes her way in is through the next in line to the “throne,” Sinclair Breckenridge. He is a lawyer and has nearly completed his training to take over from his father. Now Bleu just has to make her move. Being emotionally detached will have its benefits after all, but that was before she met Sinclair.

“Rule number ten: it’s all about the right move at the right time—pacing and patience. I’ll read his emotions and body language to know what needs to come next. A necessary sin. That’s what tonight is.”

I have to say, I found another BBF in Sinclair Breckenridge, or Sin as he is known by. He was an intense character, highly revered by all, he oozed confidence and his leadership qualities were there for all to see and adhere to. He spoke, you listened, he said jump, you said how high! He came across all dark, brooding and menacing but even in the beginning I could see little flickers of light lurking in the background.

This was similar to insta-lust but our Bleu makes him work for it and this is something that Sin is totally unaccustomed too. Sin is used to women falling over themselves to get a night with him so to come across a woman that isn’t really piques his interest. The character connection between these two was scorching and you felt it through the pages, page by page you felt their bond deepen. Sin is intrigued by Bleu; he loves the fact that she is feisty and fierce, yet loyal and protective. I loved the way that Georgia Cates gradually showed the change in Sin, slowly but surely you saw him believe in himself and Bleu; they were so well suited it was uncanny.

“I love you, Bleu MacAllister. I’ll always do what it takes to keep you safe, no matter the extreme.”

I have to admit, I was on tenterhooks throughout this book. You know that their relationship is unconventional and on paper should never happen and never last. It is with your heart in your throat that you continue reading knowing that this can only go south. I was so invested in their relationship though, the writing was perfect, I felt the chemistry, the emotion, the fear, the anticipation, I felt it all and I absolutely loved it. While the subject of revenge is at the forefront of the story it more or less takes a back seat throughout this book, it is always there lurking in the background but this for all intents and purposes is Sin and Bleus story and I cannot wait for February 9th for book 2, The Next Sin. For those that hate waiting, there is more good news…the third book in the Trilogy, One Last Sin releases on 23rd March.

“He didn’t kill my mother but he’s the spawn of the man who did. I’m supposed to be sickened by his touch, so why am I desperate to have more of it?”

I have to take my hat off to Georgia Cates, she nailed this one.

Loved pretty much everything about this! Now I'm just mad I didn't wait to read this until the next books in the series were out.

3.5 och aye tha noo stars.

I love a mafia bad boy and a feisty heroine story so this was reading nirvana for me, but I cannae lie, I had to suspend disbelief to get past the instalove, the hammy Scottish dialect and the rather bizarre idea of a mafia style fellowship operating quite openly in Scotland.

Seriously, that dialect really grated on my nerves, with characters randomly (and inconsistently) dropping into a broad Scottish brogue for some words. It didn't feel authentic to me and so, sadly, it did yank me out of my reading bubble every time it happened.

But ignoring that, I was still hooked on this because of the gripping prologue, the feisty heroine, the alpha bad boy and the tension the whole secret revenge plotline generated. The smut was pretty good too. There's just something about an ott alpha male claiming his woman that I lap up, and this had mucho macho power and charisma to keep me interested.

It ends on a cliffhanger but the series is complete and available as a bundle on ku so I'm reading on.

Loved this book! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I felt that certain things were a little too neat and tidy and could have used a bit more development, but other than that, I loved it! Georgia Cates' writing is smart and sexy, and it's also well edited--the perfect combination for me. I'm starting the next one immediately!

Georgia Cates has nailed it with this book and it was the perfect start to a new series. I fell crazy in love with "A Necessary Sin", quickly becoming so addicted that it was almost impossible for me to put my kindle down. This was a story that started out as a mission for revenge but turned into an epic love story that had heartbreak written all over it. I was hooked.

My dreams weren't of becoming the doctor to discover the cure for cancer or becoming the first female president; they were consumed by dark, vengeful thoughts.

At a very young age, Bleu MacAllister experienced a dreadful event that had left her irrevocably damaged. From that moment, her life was spent preparing for revenge. Bleu was out for blood and she was not going to stop until she had it and after years of training, she was ready to put her plans into action. However what she didn't plan for was meeting Sinclair Breckenbridge. Falling in love with him would be a dangerous mistake but could she stop the inevitable from happening? I couldn't wait to find out.
I knew there was a possibility I might have to get into bed with the enemy, but I had no idea I'd be this electrified by doing so. It makes me feel dirty. But I like it. And I shouldn't.
I loved the main characters in this story. They quickly made a big impact on me and I can see Bleu and Sin easily becoming one of my favourite book couples by the end of the series. Bleu was a fierce, feisty, kick ass heroine. I loved this girl from the very beginning. My heart went out to her and I could completely understand her need for revenge. I loved watching Bleu change from a trained killer out for retribution into a women who was head over heels in love. It was a joy to see how Bleu was so happy with Sin. The only downside was that I found it impossible to fully relax as I knew that their happiness was sure to be short lived. There was no way that this couple were going to get a happy ending. Not when she was involved with someone as deadly as Sin Breckenridge.
I'm supposed to be sickened by his touch, so why am I desperate to have more of it?
Sin was the perfect combination of light and shade. Danger surrounded him, he was a man that oozed risk and dynamite but he also oozed sex and deliciousness. Underneath his darkness was a man who could sweep you off your feet, he sure did me! I loved how Sin reacted to Bleu. She turned his world upside down. He was a man who did not chase women but where Bleu was concerned he was prepared to run a marathon. How could Bleu resist? Sin fell hard for Bleu and I swooned with delight at how he cherished and protected her. He made my heart flutter. Underneath all that danger stood a man with a man with a heart of gold. Sigh!!

Together Bleu and Sin made the most perfect couple. I adored watching their relationship develop. Bleu was exactly the type of woman that Sin needed in his life. She was not afraid to challenge him and kept him on his toes refusing to shy away from the ugly side of him and his lifestyle. Bleu became Sin's partner in every possible way. They had it all going on including some amazingly hot sex. I would have given my right arm to be Bleu MacAllister.
He's a thief who stole something much more precious than ever before-my heart.
The story itself, although a little predictable, pulled me in and captivated me throughout. It was exciting, passionate and frightening. My heart was in my mouth and my stomach was churning as I feared what would happen to Bleu and Sin. I had a very bad feeling about this story and I dreaded the end. Not only did this book leave me with a painful cliffhanger but I was also suffering from a major book hangover. I need it to be February for more than just the Fifty Shades of Grey movie!!! LOL.

4.5 "Sinfully Sexy Badass Heroine" Stars! I loved this FBI trained operative, goes rogue on a personal revenge mission, by infiltrating a secret crime organization and seducing and falling in love with it's future leader romance! Readers who enjoyed Rachel Van Dyken's Eagle Elite Series and mafia romance enthusiasts, in general, will not want to miss A Necessary Sin!

As a small child, Bleu MacAllister barely escaped with her life the day her mother was killed practically right before her eyes. That near death experience, and the loss of her mother, have led to a life filled with one sole purpose: revenge. Everything Bleu has done, even her short stint in the FBI, has all been influenced by, and carefully calculated to succeed in, her obsession to avenge her mother's death.

Time is running out though, due to her mentor's ill health. So Bleu resigns herself to infiltrate The Fellowship, the secret Scottish crime organization responsible for her mother's death, prior to her original planned timeline. Will she be ready, and strong enough, to successfully complete her mission?

Her plan is simple, seduce Sinclair "Sin" Breckinridge, The Fellowship's Leader's son, to gain access to his father so she can eliminate the monster who killed her mother once and for all. After all, any offspring of a sociopath killer must also be a monster, so if Sin gets hurt in the process, no harm no foul. What Bleu never counted on was her heart interfering. Can there ever be a true winner when revenge and love collide?

A Necessary Sin was a success both in the action/suspense arena, and in the erotic, passion department. I loved how the heroine was so strong, both physically and mentally. I always find it deeply satisfying when a hero is attracted to a heroine's wit and ability to take care of herself, but nonetheless chooses to protect her out of his own alpha drive. I also enjoyed the detail that Georgia Gates devotes to constructing the secret outlaw society named The Fellowship. Somewhat similar to the mafia, but with its own set of interesting twists, learning The Fellowship's rules has been intriguing, and I'm sure there are many more secrets yet to come.

All in all, A Necessary Sin was a fabulous start to what promises to be an action-packed, suspense-filled, erotic trilogy hit. I can't wait to see how Bleu's and Sin's relationship continues to evolve, and how The Fellowship reacts to the cliffhanger ending, in The Next Sin, Book 2 in The Sin Trilogy, which is scheduled to be released in February!

I tried! I really did! I tried so hard not to read this book right after its release, because I knew this would happen: I'm dying to read the next book!!!!!!! I'm not sure I can wait until the release without a massive book hangover.

Good news: The sequel releases in a month.
Bad news: February is so far away!!!

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!

The pacing was perfect, not too slow and not too fast. This author is a master puppeteer when it comes to emotionally connecting the readers to the characters. I loved it!

I loved how the characters were strong and bad-a**, but the author showed also their vulnerability and made them likeable.

I can't wait for the sequel!!!

I can't even remember the last time I added a book to my "Favorites" list. Well, this book has a place there for sure!

I wish I could give this a five plus stars. Sucks you in right from the get go. Hearts and flowers pleeeeeeeeeeeese, intense dark gritty and oooh yeah full of villains you wanna kill. Like Sinclair Breckenridge's uncle. Yeah you suck ole man, you're the embodiment of a rattle snake! You know its deadly but to stupid to not wanna reach down and pet it!
