I know I keep saying that the creative team behind Nowhere Men really are doing a fantastic job, but I'm not kidding!!! I haven't read a comic with this much immersion, feelings, fantastic, colorfully explosive artwork, and novel-like story telling ever. I have read my fair share of comics. Many bad and several more good to great, but this is on the top of my stack of reads until Eric Stephenson decides he doesn't want to write it anymore. Issue 3 is keeping me on the edge of my seat just like issues 1 and 2. The scientist group are no longer in space and neither is the space station. Strange's and World Corp's worse fears are about to hit really close to home. Not only has their top secret, illegal space station been found by non-World Corp members, but has been found by a journalist and writer Raymond Douglas. And it seems from the first few panels, he only finds a small portion of the station. Meanwhile, we catch up to where a few of the team ended up after going through Pierce's teleportation device. It seems that some of the group are also evolving past who and what they were before the virus entered into their systems. Holly has been several injured, Dr. Queen is starting to transform into a black ink like substance, Pierce can't seem to be effected by the extreme cold climate the group finds themselves into, Kurt seems to have turned from what looked like a pile of shit/scabs into a red with green hands cobra necked looking pretty Hulk! And it seems that the others, Karen, Adra and Jackson don't have any outward or physical change that we can detect. Enter in what looks like a gang out of Mad Max into the scene and Kurt goes all smash smash. And we are left with what appears to be Douglas being affected by the virus since he climbed up on the wreckage of the space station. Again, we get answers, but are left with questions. Will Douglas infect the whole plane? Will World Corp be able to cover this up with the wreckage being so spread out? I'm really enjoying the small nods to movies, tv shows and the like. Last issue it was a nod to Firefly. Now I feel like this issue is a nob to the Hulk and Mad Max. The amount of detail in each panel really can be a bit overwhelming. This is definitely a series that is meant to be reread!
