  Lucky Charm is a sweet romance loosely inspired by the relationship between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. I wouldn't call myself a swiftie, but it was so hallmark-y it worked! I have not read anything from Anne-Marie Meyer before, however, I liked the writing. It was a cute HEA read with a slow burn and plenty of cute scenes that built their chemistry.
  
  The book follows aspiring singer Emerson King and professional football player Stone Walker. The two were also childhood acquaintances, Stone being the former best friend of Emerson's older brother Cayden. The two had a falling out in high school when Stone was offered the football scholarship Cayden had expected to receive. Emerson and Stone accidently reconnected as adults as neighbors.
  
  This is such a heartwarming story and I enjoyed certain aspects. This is a second chance romance about unlikely friends that become something more. It is a perfect palette cleanser and a very quick read. If you go into it expecting a sweet, cheesy romance with no spice, it will definitely be for you. It was a bit of a miss for me but it was entertaining.
  
  I was a little frustrated by how the story just glazed over Emerson's family and their issues with Stone. I also hated the descriptions of Emerson's outfits. They were so ugly and it took me out of it LOL.

  I read Lucky Charm as an ARC from NetGalley. The two main characters, Emerson and Stone, know each other from childhood when Stone was best friends with Emerson's brother. Unfortunately, Stone got noticed by football recruiters while his friend did not. After that, Emerson's parents and brother stopped speaking to Stone all together. Now Emerson finds herself in the same town as Stone, literally living across the hall from each other. They agree to a fake dating scheme to help Emerson further her career.
  
  On its premise, I thought I would like this book but it had too many tropes squeezed into a fairly short novel. There were childhood crushes, brother's best friend, pro athlete and "normal" girl-next-door, neighbors, fake dating, disapproving family, and stalkers. I would have DNFd it if I didn't need to do a review. Here's what I disliked:
  -I hated how Emerson's family just abandoned Stone once Stone won a scholarship. What sh*tty people.
  -When Emerson's friend Tilly senses the tension on move-in day, I hated how Tilly set them up on a date without knowing why Emerson was so uncomfortable around Stone. And for Tilly to suggest the fake romance scheme also bothered me? Does Tilly not believe in her best friend? Also, there's nothing in it for Stone. In most fake dating romances, there's something in it for both parties. It's a win-win for everyone. Then both Emerson and Stone proceed to go on dates with other people. If Stone is in the limelight that much, they wouldn't have been able to sell their new relationship if they're immediately seen stepping out with other people.
  -I thought the stalker plot was half-assed. It also painted Emerson as very naive and needing a white knight to save her. The author put a big emphasis on Brett taking Emerson's guitar case for her and creeping around her apartment, but nothing came of it, other than him making an inappropriate come-on.
  -When it's revealed that Brett sponsored the rent for Emerson's apartment, it made me dislike Tilly more. What kind of a best friend wouldn't look into an anonymous donation of thousands and thousands of dollars? It would've been a better twist if it had been Stone's support all along.
  -I don't understand why Emerson loved Stone and vice versa. There wasn't enough of a backstory and neither of them had enough character development for it to hold weight. Knowing who they were as people and how they overcame obstacles in their lives would've helped. Instead, it seemed like Stone had his grandma and Emerson had Stone to build her career. Who were they as people without their white knights?
  -The shamrock lucky charm could've been played up more, almost like the dollar bill in Serendipity. It just fell short.
  -Overall, I would've loved to see Emerson win a record deal of her own accord and beat her stalker on her own. I would've loved to also see her stick up for Stone more against her family. The tension with Emerson's family could've been the 3rd act conflict. We didn't need the stalker at all.

  Lucky Charm was a cute, quick read, about an aspiring singer and a pro football player that finally get their happy ended after years of secretly pinning for each other since high school.
  
  Stone has loved Emerson for as long as he can remember, but she was his ex-best friend’s sister and off limits. Emerson has always had a crush on Stone, but she never told him. there was a huge falling out resulting in Emerson’s family hating Stone and the two of them loosing contact. They reunite when Emerson moves in next to Stone and they start up a fake relationship to boost Emerson’s viability and help her get a music contract.
  
  The author tributes her inspiration for this story to Taylor and Travis. This is a super easy read that’s can be finished in one setting. I wasn’t a huge fan of all the miscommunication, one of my least favorite troupes, but I love a good fake dating troupe. The spice level is next to none, which is different from my usual reads. Overall it was a cute easy read for those who prefer their romance reads without spice.

  It was my first encounter with a book from Anne-Marie Meyer and I super enjoyed it!! It was a relaxing book with two sweet characters to love! ♥️
  
  Emerson is the little sister of Cayden. He has Stone as his best friend, but things got complicated in their lives during highschool. Because of that, they needed to separate their lives because Emerson's parents blamed Stone for their misfortune. Everything happened just after Emerson had gifted Stone a lucky charm.
  
  But somehow, after a couple of years, Emerson gets the chance to rent an apartment, which is nearby her old friend and crush, Stone. From here on, the two of them have a relationship of love-'fake hate' which was interesting to follow 🤭. They were trying to avoid each other as much as they could, to not make any mistakes regarding each other (romantically).
  
  I loved how they tried their best to ignore their feelings and how they rebuilt their relationship. I also liked the sports part, especially Stone's team, which added some really funny parts to the story.
  
  Overall, I really loved this book and I'll definitely read other books from Anne-Marie 🥰. I recommend it if you enjoy these tropes: brother's best friend, enemies to lovers, sports romance, close proximity, fake relationship, first love.

  Cute and sweet romance based off Taylor and Travis’ relationship! I love that it wasn’t an exact copy off their relationship and loved the way that Anne-Marie executed this book.
  
  I haven’t read a singer and NFL player romance, so I wasn’t too sure what to except. Overall, I enjoyed this read! It was quick and cute. I loved the significance behind the charms and thought it was so sweet.
  
  I will say that this book is a little slow, but if that’s your thing!? Then it’s totally worth the read. There is no spice in this book, which I personally love. I know some may be disappointed that there isn’t any, but Anna-Marie’s books never do anyways. I personally think her books hold your attention enough to not need any spice!

  putting it simple: this book follows emerson and stone. emerson is an aspiring singer waiting to be noticed and stone is an NFL player. he also sed to be emerson's brother's best friend until they fell out (because emerson apparently stole her brother's career 🙄🙄 what a fake ass bestie). events happen which cause emerson and stone to be neighbours. now in highschool they shred the tiniest bit of chemistry but it was all snuffed out bc of the whole break up but nowwww they are back in eachother's lives!! stone still has hard core feelings for her so when emersons manager asks him to fake date her so she gets publicity and hopefully scouted he says yes. and so the book begins...

  it had a good start and set up so i was hopeful it would be a good read. the characters had their lives set up and their vibes were cute. but then every thing just kind of crumbled.
  
  the fake dating doesn't occur until chapter 17 (there are 24 chapters in this book). honestly this is more of a neighbours romance since it barely lasted long. i also thought the characters were childish and weren't adult-ing. like he was sort of a pussy at times and she would just skip to radical conclusions. she made numerous stupid choices like bringing a guy she just met back to her apartment and believing the public would believe a fake relationship if they didn't touch or kiss. she was a mess also because she felt bad for how her family treated him yet was always standoffish with him, which made the scenes overly awkward. I don't even know if they had one natural conversation. it was literally all awkward. also he got NOTHING out of this fake dating situation. also with her whole family hating him, it was made into a big deal at the wrong times but when it came to telling her family the relationship was real... it never happened. she had one phone call with his mom, who slated him, nd she didn't even defend him (she loved him at this point). they are just really fucking confusing characters. this book was confusing. her thought process was confusing. she was missing some brain cells for sure. i feel like i lost some.
  
  if each conflict was separated and solved individually with care i think this book would have been better. that and the amount of time it took for them to start to fake date 💀.
  
  also there is no way her best friend bailed on plans they made with like a group of men they JUST met, making her go ALONE. honey nooooo.

  3,25-3,5⭐️ Thank you The Nerd Fam for the gifted ARC! This was very quick, clean, easy, and nice romance inspired by Taylor and Travis! I liked it but it was not very special and it was predictable.
  
  This was slow burn and the environment was nice! There were a few small sub-plots , however they did not get a very clear closure in the end. I don't personally like the miscommunication trope at all so that is why the rating is a bit lower as well!
  
  I loved the inspiration and how I could see it throughout the book! This was cute and there was no spice! Stone was protective and they really struggled with their feels (sometimes too much), overall very nice cleanser and light read!

  This was my first ARC read and I’m super glad it was. My heart was immediately stolen with a dedication to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce. Lucky Charm is a quick, fake dating, sports romance read. Emerson and Stone are very lovable main characters. Emerson is an aspiring singer who is trying to find her way in Nashville and Stone is a NFL star. The main characters knew each other in high school, but Stone had a falling out with the family and never spoke to Emerson again. Emerson happens to move into the apartment across the hall from Stone and so the story starts. Stone is a golden retriever, yet touch her and I will hurt you kind of man. I immediately fell in love with him. The banter between the main characters and side characters kept the story light and fun. If you are looking for a super spicy read, this isn’t the book for you.   I was really excited when I read that it was inspired by the relationship between Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift but when I started reading it it was nothing like it, maybe similar in their professions (?)

  Emerson is the younger sister of Stone's best friend in high school but at the end of senior year things change and not only do they distance themselves but a story of hate begins.

  Several years later, Stone is in the life of his dreams, he is one of the best players in the league and is about to win another super bowl with his team when he discovers who his new neighbor is.

  All the emotions that he had been covering up for years begin to come out and when he learns that she has problems being discovered by a music producer, he offers to help her by pretending to be a couple.

  This is a story of second chance, fake relationship between enemies who form a truce and become friends and something more

  I really wanted to know what her songs were about, the writer describe how magical is when she arrives on stage and looks like she starts to sing but she doesn't say anything about the lyrics and that would have been very good considering that she sings pop country music to the best Taylor Swift style, besides I am a fan of a lyric that tells a story and I feel that there was much more to write about it, about other characters too, I feel that it fell short in so many parts.

  No, it started out good, I was excited… until we were 200 pages in out of 300 and we were just now starting the fake dating. To say I was bored would be an understatement. I hate that I did this, but I skipped about 3-5 chapters and went straight to the last one, I couldn’t do it. I wanted this book to be good, it had so much potential.

  A cute fast read inspired by Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift. There's a lot of great tropes in this. I haven't read a football star singer relationship before so this was a nice treat for me.
  
  Stone is Emerson's brother's best friend but after a falling out Stone is no longer in their life. Fast forward to Emerson living next door to Stone! They begin fake dating to hopefully get Emerson a recording contract.
  
  I enjoyed the characters and the plot. I wasn't the biggest fan of the miscommunication. I also, felt like the book was rushed a bit in points and wasn't much character development.

  This was my first book by Anne-Marie Meyer and I really enjoyed it. It was an extremely sweet romance that brought me all the feels!
  
  This book is about an aspiring singer and a pro footballer who are in love and have been pinning for each other since high school days but a relationship between them is off-limits
  
  Stone has loved Emerson from the moment he saw her, however, she was his ex-best friend’s sister and forbidden so he couldn’t act on those feelings, as much as he wanted to. Emerson felt the same way about Stone too, but she never confessed those feelings to him or anyone. Emerson’s family had a massive fight with Stone leaving Emerson and Stone's friendship now nonexistent and they ended up losing all contact with each other, however, they both have been pinning for each other for years and they reunite when Emerson moves in next door to Stone.
  
  
  
  Emerson needs more exposure with her music career so she and Stone decide to start a fake relationship but it doesn’t take long for the feelings they both had for each other back in high school to resurface, the chemistry, connection and their undeniable attraction to each other is intense, to say the least. Will these two get the happy ending that they deserve?
  
  I loved this book. It was a fun, quick, sweet and entertaining read. I managed to devour it in one sitting.

  I started this book just for giggles when I saw that it was very loosely inspired by an American singer and her NFL boyfriend. I generally like a cheesy "Love Story", and I was assured online that it was "Clean" so I decided to give it a "shotgun shot in the dark." I didn't expect it to be on the level of a "Mastermind" like Shakespeare or Jane Austen. And "Oh, My, My, My," it really wasn't. I wanted to be generous in the first half, thinking I could give it 3 stars for being a generally inoffensive "Sweet Nothing" of a story, but the further I went, the more braincells I felt dying. At some point, I couldn't "Tolerate It" anymore, and it became a chore to finish--which I did, by sheer willpower, solely because of the sunk-cost fallacy and the "closure" of being able to say I actually finished a book. I hate to be "Mean," but I have to leave a 1 star review on a book when reading it feels like "Death By A Thousand Cuts." I kept asking myself "Is It Over Now?"
  
  First off all, the characters are so painfully flat, and the writing is so bad it made me cringe (in the bad way). The lead female is very naïve--which ok, I don't always hold that against a girl since I, myself, get fatal cases of girlbrain now and again--But sis ain't even TRYING to think. What is appealing about her? I don't know... She's just a total "Blank Space." And the male lead is just a dude written by a chick. And he plays football. That's it.
  
  The plot is a "Delicate" "Labyrinth" of excuses of why "This Love" can never be allowed, and every single one is a "hoax." After ONE mildly cute scene that took place when they were about "Fifteen," we are expected to believe that they can't live without each other, but when they meet up as adults, there's nothing to even indicate they SHOULD be "End Game." And I DO like a good fake dating trope, but it's completely wasted here because there's NO reason why they should be fake dating and no real tension between them anyway. It's just incredibly shallow and pointless.
  
  Essentially every chapter is just one of the two characters basically being STUPIDLY attracted to each other, recapping to themselves the same contrived excuses why they can't be together, arguing about the same nonsense, internally denying their feelings, literally hating themselves for even HAVING feelings, and then acting like if they fall in love it will ruin their life. I have never seen such contrived "Bad Blood" between characters, and at the end, NONE of it even matters. She has the sudden "Epiphany" that she's in love with him and nothing else matters. Then he runs away like he isn't worthy of her EVEN THOUGH in his chapters he basically thinks of her as the "love of his life" and acts like he would die if she ever left.
  
  The drama keeping them apart is thinner than an "Invisible String" and they have absolutely no foundation for a working relationship past the one scene when they were "So Highschool"

This was one of the cutest romances I have read in a long time and I absolutely loved all the tropes displayed in this book (singer x football player, he falls first and harder, fake relationship). The dedication to Taylor and Travis in the beginning of this book was also very cute to see. While it was dedicated to real life people, I love how the author made it an original storyline with a singer and football player. The plot was super cute and refreshing <3

  Stone and Emerson are a cautionary tale! Do not fall for the daughter of the family who hates you is what runs through Stones mine as he fled his hometown. When fate brings them together again Stone isn’t so sure he can heed the warning anymore!
  
  Stone now has everything he’s always wanted but the one thing missing just moved in across the hall and when Emerson needs his help the yes from his mouth is immediate!
  
  Lucky Charm is such a heartwarming story and I loved the dynamic between these two! They both had a lot to make up for and needed to face answers and truths they weren’t ready for but for the next step in life to happen they had to face it all head on!
  
  Stone was so sweet and truly had a heart of gold. He was definitely not a playboy. Emerson was a soft spoken woman who had so much to say she just needed the chance! Very beautiful story of forgiveness and forever!

The fact that it was inspired by Taylor and Travis made it a little bit more special 😁 I normally like my books with a bit of spice, this didn’t have any but to be honest, it didn’t need it! My first read by Annie Marie Meyer and it definitely won’t be my last 😁

  This was a super cute and quick read! As a lifelong Chiefs and Taylor Swift fan, I loved the nod to Taylor and Travis. What I loved the most was how it didn't feel like a copy and paste of their relationship! Emerson and Stone's story was uniquely theirs and I loved their relationship. I wanted more out of the fake dating, it didn't last very long, but it was still fun to read! Anne-Marie's writing style was also very entertaining and I enjoyed her writing. My main issue was how the ending felt a little rushed and we didn't get any closure regarding the issue with Emerson's family and Stone. Overall though, it was a super cute read!

  Synopsis: This book is credited as being inspired by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship, following an up and coming singer and a football MVP who have a difficult past stemming back to highschool. (Hopefully this inspiration ages well, lol.)
  Pros/cons: This was a very quick read and I found it to be a good palate cleanser: light and easy.
  Unfortunately there were a lot of cons for me. The story revolves around this broken relationship all because the male lead “stole” a college football scholarship from the brother of the female lead. This was a bunch of gaslighting BS. Scholarships don’t work like that, so it was a dumb sub plot. The entire family supposedly hated him for this reason- but in the end there was no conclusion one way or the other about this.
  Also, the cheese factor was high. There was zero spice, and in this circumstance it lead to zero chemistry. The couple avoided each other then instantly were in love after one kiss. It wasn’t believable.
  Lastly, this is so minor, but the female’s style was so 2005. It was distracting. Charming Charlie’s called- they want their chunky necklaces and belts back, he he.
  But overall, a Hallmark-y read. And if you like the Taylor/Travis romance, check this out when it’s released in April!

  Lucky Charm was a quick, light-hearted read that was heavily influenced by the relationship between America's favorite pop star and her football beau.
  
  Overall, the story was easy to follow, pacing was okay, and the characters were fleshed out exactly how they needed to be. This absolutely reads like a hallmark movie, and that's not a negative. Unfortunately, the story was just slightly lacking that extra something to put it over the top. I'm not sure what exactly was needed, but I left this book feeling somewhat underwhelmed.
  
  If you're looking for an easy, low stakes read, then this is probably for you!

When her manager suggests they pretend to date to help promote her career, Stone agrees to the arrangement but they are both afraid to have their heart broken again.
  
  This book was adorable! As a Taylor Swift fan, I was excited to read this book when I saw it was about a singer and a professional football player. While the idea for the book was inspired by Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, I love that the story was completely unique. I really enjoyed this book and it was hard to put down! If you are a fan of sports romances, you should definitely read this book!

  Remember the early days of Taylor and Travis when wildly speculative, unhinged rumors were floating around that they were using each other for a publicity stunt? That’s basically the premise of Lucky Charm. Struggling artist Emerson and NFL star Stone begrudgingly begin a fake relationship to help her get noticed on the music scene. Did I mention she hates him? Because she does, back from high school when Stone “stole” her brother’s football scholarship to The University of Texas (of all places). Nothing about this book reflects real life, especially not the depictions of recruiting, football, etc. This author does not know how to ball nor Aristotle. Even though this book desperately needs a better editor, it’s still better than The Idea of You.

  Love a slow burn romance book, however I wish there was more character development instead of it just bam and rushed. It was a good romance book overall. This book was basically Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce relationship. They started off with bad blood in the beginning when her parents blamed him from stealing a scholarship from her brother about football and she was so in love with him in the past and now and she goes to fake date him as a plan and he agrees which shocked her! This was an easy fast read. It was a cute book overall, but it was rushed at the end in my opinion but i think it hit the mark for a holiday book. Thanks for the Arc overall for this romance book!

  I really enjoyed this story and would have loved to have a bit more of them. I felt like some parts could have had some more but I still very much enjoyed the story It was adorable and sweet. I was happy too see their HEA!!
