I've read a few books recently by this author - but so far all were of the self-help or guidance genre.
So I was expecting this book to maybe be a children's version of this genre with some kind of message.

I was therefore surprised to see that this was just a lovely book for children to follow Blueberry and Jam's adventures around Maine.

I've never been the the US at all before and so this was actually a really interesting read for me too!
We follow the pair as they visit all the attractions that Maine has to offer.
There's definitely lots to do and the scenery looks beautiful!
I especially loved the magical trolls, Thunder Hole and the wild blueberry fields.

I liked that it showed the huge range of activities that could be done and it was great to see so much of that was good old fashioned outdoors fun.
There were a couple of places to go in and learn but otherwise, lots of nature, sailing and camping or hiking.
This is definitely my kind of holiday - rather than the crowded tourist areas.

This also included some nice facts about the places we visited and at the end a useful fact file about Maine being the biggest blueberry producer in the US.

This is definitely a book that you'd read along to your youngsters.
More aimed at the American audience, but definitely interesting if you are planning a trip or are learning more about the state.
I felt it was a little too long for a bedtime story, but would love to use this in a guided reading or home school environment too.

The illustrations in the book were beautiful and there was plenty to look at during reading.

Blueberry and Jam were great characters and I can see this being a popular series as we follow them on their other adventures.

I must start by saying how adorable these two characters are! Blueberry is a blueberry loving cat and Jam is his cute little mouse best friend. Together, they decide to set off on an adventure to explore their home state of Maine. On the journey, they visit lots of important and historical sites, camp, fish, make new friends and learn more about the state where they live. Blueberry and Jam make a brilliant team of best buddies. They demonstrate how good friendships work. I thought this book was a fun way to help children learn some interesting new facts, in an engaging way. I learned some new things as well! The book is bright, colourful and has text that isn’t over complicated and easy to understand. I’m really looking forward to their next adventure.

I don’t know why, but the end of the year always makes me crave cute, kiddish graphic reads, and this pick of mine ticked off all these boxes.

“Blueberry and Jam: Adventures in Maine” is an adventurous account of Blueberry and Jam’s story as they travel across Maine. Being a curious cat with the mind of an explorer and longing for travel, Blueberry, throughout this book, explores his hometown and gains new experiences at every step.

This illustrated book felt like a peek into Blueberry’s and Jam’s journals, which they kept throughout their travels. I loved the illustrations. They were quirky, colourful, eye-catching, and quite expressive.

This book is a very quick read for you to pick up when you are in a mood for something fun and cute to read.

However, the only thing I found a little difficult to comprehend was the small font. I felt like a little bigger font would have made this read more enjoyable for me. Other than that, this book was definitely a good one.

The characters are appealing and look lively which will keep children engaged till the end. The main fact is that it is just a 19 pages long work which has very beautiful illustrations and imaginations. Those drawings look like they are talking to you and talking to your children while leaving beautiful blueberry prints wherever they go just like they leave it in your mind as well.

Both the characters of the book are really very charming and it's so very magical to read about that unexpected friendship. Also the book is really appealing and wishfully suited for the children which won't be a barrier for them to engage with it easily. Reading this book gave me so much knowledge about the state of Maine that I did it before all this with very life speaking illustrations that will leave a great imprint in your mind.

The kids will learn the knowledge that it provides in a very interesting and a different way. Though, I felt like the illustrations were the main part of the book rather than the story and writing which caused me a little barrier to read it. This was because I kept on getting distracted towards the illustrations. I would have loved it if both the illustrations and the story were a little bit more balanced then they are but still overall it was a really good read and I enjoyed it.

This book was such a cute read. I read it with my children and they loved it. I think anyone of any age will enjoy this story though. Takes readers all through the beauty of Maine and the adventures of best friends-ironically enough a cat and mouse. I for one have never been to Maine but after reading this gem I feel like I have been! I love the ocean scene and this book captured me by its descriptive words and pictures. I also really enjoyed how the author used animation and real pictures-which again appeals to the young and old. This is a quick read and I give it 5/5 ⭐️.

As the title suggests this short and fun read was about a kitten named Blueberry, who was named after his love for blueberries. He loved travelling and exploring the world. This was a beautifully illustrated book. Loved the way this book made the children learn about the places, food and so many things. Pictorial explanations always proved best to teach new things to your children. This was an entertaining read along with knowledge. Some interesting facts were shared at the end of the book. The length was short so it would be a best pick for the weekend or holidays. The book cover made me fall in love with it. The title was based on the gist of the book. Such books are a must-read for your children and storytelling purposes. Do check the blurb & purchase.

This was a very cute children's fictional story about exploring where you live. I loved this as it allowed me to learn about one of the states in the USA (being from the UK) which was also very fun. This is definitely a book that I will be buying and having on my bookshelf for when the younger members of my family come ver. This was a very different thing from the other books I have read by this author and it shows how she is able to write for any age group and on a wide variety of subjects.

Adorable story with great illustrations; it truly encapsulates a Maine adventure. A bit long for a children’s book, but I appreciate how Blueberry and Jam’s roadtrip adventure could be recreated by an intrigued reader.
