When I pickpocketed the princess, I had no idea I was going to meet the love of my life. Nor did I have any idea that I'd be working to dethrone her crazed father in an attempt to save our island.

The Pickpocket and the Princess (One Of Many Lives Book 2) Reviews

I loved this short story just like the other ones I read. The author has a really good way of writing the unexpected. Also, the worlds the author has built are all so cool and amazing.

Built around a sapphic romance between a princess and a thief (who had a high ranking father once) you get to see the short growth of their relationship within the novel. It does lack length as a novella and I wished that we could see some more world building. One thing that was truly unclear was what time period we were in or what technology was truly available. Some things were highly advanced and yet there was still a monarchy which seemed slightly more archaic. Dialogue was believable and the writing in this one was done well but simply not up to par with the first book in the series. I am still interested and will be moving on to book three which I hope will be more of a match to the first.

(I would rate it 3.5 stars but I am rounding up to 4.)

It’s a great short story with chapters which aren’t too short and not too long. I really enjoyed the setting of Molleni Island and the forbidden love trope. The characters-especially Fallon because the book was written in her point of view- had great personalities. Furthermore the writing was excellent and I (as a non-native-English-speaker) flew through the pages. That the bonus chapter was written in Kats point of view was nice because of that I could see her feelings and thoughts from her directly. In my opinion I felt the relationship of Fallon and Kat at the beginning a bit rushed, so I would have liked to read a bit more about their dates but all in all it’s a lovely story. 🫶✨🤍

I really liked this book!! The chapters weren’t too long which I love, and there was always stuff happening so you didn’t get bored. Very well written and I got to feel so many emotions!! Can’t wait to read the next books in the series🩷
