I’d never have thought it would be possible to tell a story in exactly 100 words, but the dream team of Ian and Gladys Hornett have done just that, compiling 114 stories into this slim volume. The stories range from slices of life to humorous anecdotes, and all have something to offer, some insight into the human condition, some clever play on words that made me laugh, and frequently both, but the one that stood out for me was ‘Story Inspiration’ the last story in the book which ironically (or perhaps not) is a story about telling stories. It has everything a good story should have – character, wry humour, structure and meaning - and all in 100 words. A masterclass in brevity and wit. Looking forward to the next volume!

Easy to read, a collection of 100 word stories which all stand on their own. Gave me a good laugh and some had me on the edge of my seat! Would recommend as an easy one to pick up or put down whenever you feel like it.

A glorious collection of the hilarious, poignant, twisty, weird, wonderful and reminiscent. I loved it.
Exactly what it says on the tin. Short stories are tough at the best of times, but to wrap it up in exactly 100 words, doubly so. -
I highly recommend this book of bite size stories. it is charming, funny and often insightful. I laughed, I pondered, and I reminisced. 100ish, highly entertaining, snapshots of life.
