I would never get over how perfect wes is
โธโธ ๊ฐ QUOTES ๐ธใโโนเญจher giggles made me crazy. Her giggles gave me this stupid desperate desire to be the one sharing the laugh with her.เญง
เญจI was in love with this version of us.เญง
เญจwhen I looked down at her, she smiled. It was small and inconsequential, polite, really, but I almost forgot how to speak for a minute because it was mine. There was no one else around, so that look was just for me.เญง
เญจMake sure you add โSomeone Like Youโ to the Wes and Liz playlist.เญง

I knew Wes was jealous here without having had his pov but Iโm glad we got it because I love seeing him so down bad as itโs the most adorable thing ever lol I canโt help but continue to swoon over it. Again, such a crime to not have included his pov and its difficult to not feel that way about the other bonus scenes left to read ๐ฉ
โYoung was smiling like she was adorable - yeah, she is, you fuck - and it was insane how knotted up the scene was making me. Get a grip, dipshit. They're playing basketball, not making out.โ lmao
โIt was outrageously ridiculous that I was thinking in poetic verse because she'd dared to touch me, but then again, that had always been the way of things. Liz Buxbaum made me outrageously ridiculous.โ
โLiz would be shocked if she knew just how many rom-coms I watched on a regular basis. Not that I was anything like her, watching for the hope of it all, but I appreciated the escape. Nothing bad happened - or lasted, at least - in a rom-com, which was hella therapeutic sometimes.โ
"Don't I know it. But when no one's home, it feels amazing to totally shatter glass with my pipes." "I would pay money to hear that," I said, meaning every word as I pictured red hair, closed eyes and piano keys. Vanilla, flowers, romantic daydreams.

Wes's point of view of the basketball he took Liz to get her close to Michael and how he felt about it.
How jealous he was, and how sweet he is...

โWho were we right now?
I was in love with this version of us.โ
Another classic addition of Wes POV in which Wes Bennett proves once again that he's a bigger sap and more of a hapless and hopeless romantic than Liz Buxbaum. ๐ฅฐ I'm sure Lynn Painter is regretting not writing BTTM with a dual POV, but I'm certainly not complaining about all these little glimpses we're getting into Wes' thoughts for some of the few moments that stood out for him. ๐ฉท๐ฉท
โNot even the rain has such small hands.
It was outrageously ridiculous that I was thinking in poetic verse because sheโd dared to touch me, but then again, that had always been the way of things.โ
Yes, I have a soft spot for him - don't judge me. ๐ Short and smitten, I liked getting to see some of Wes' interactions with his own family and what he feels about them. Loved his choice of romcom pick too - definitely a winner, in my eyes! And Liz didn't come off as such an appealing character this time to me *shocker, I know!* - or maybe I'm just jealous that she has won the heart of someone as precious as Wes. ๐ฅบ For someone who when he looks at her, can't help but think of 'vanilla, flowers, and romantic daydreams', is enough to give me all the warm fuzzy feels. ๐ฅน๐ฅน -
Lynn, I'm begging, please just write the book from his POV!

i wish wes bennet was real

โHer giggles gave me this stupid desperate desire to be the one sharing the laugh with her. I wanted to run over there with my ball and beg her to play with me.โ
Damnnn!!!! Wes is so obsessed! ๐ญโฅ๏ธ
โIt was outrageously ridiculous that I was thinking in poetic verse because sheโd dared to touch me, but then again, that had always been the way of things. Liz Buxbaum made me outrageously ridiculous.โ
lmaooo here Liz was being embarassed that Michael saw her nose getting broken and Wes was about to die from happiness ๐ญ -
"Liz reached over and squeezed my hand.
She. Squeezed. My hand. " AAA WES POVS ARE EVERYTHING ๐ฅฒ๐ค -
20 bucks to whoever can get me a guy like wes

jealousy looks good on you wesley
โI watched her toss up an atrocious airball, but when she started laughing, I had to clench my jaw to keep myself from growling. Because her giggles made me crazy. Her giggles gave me this stupid desperate desire to be the one sharing the laugh with her. I wanted to run over there with my ball and beg her to play with me.โ
โYoung was smiling like she was adorable โ yeah, she is, you fuck โ and it was insane how knotted up the scene was making me.โ
โGod, her eyes are so pretty.โ
โBefore answering, Liz reached over and squeezed my hand.
She. Squeezed. My hand.
Liz Buxbaum squeezed my hand, and suddenly the world returned to its normal speed.โ
โLiz Buxbaum made me outrageously ridiculous.โ
โI was in love with this version of us.โ
โIt pissed me off a little, to be honest, the way it took a pseudo-makeover for him to notice how pretty she was. If he didnโt see her before, he didnโt deserve to look at her now.โ
โGod, I love her brain.โ
โAnd...?โ She prodded excitedly, giving me what I wanted.
My good girl.โ
โโฆgrabbing the couch blanket that Liz had wrapped around her shoulders last week after getting caught in the rain. I raised it to my nose and Dear God it still smelled like her.
Vanilla, flowers, and romantic daydreams.โ
โIโd never figured out what it was about Liz and the piano, why I found it so damn...compelling. Magical. It was just a girl and her instrument, but when Liz Buxbaum played the piano, my chest got so tight it was hard for me to breathe.โ -
Cuteness overload.

(Edit 15.12.23: Hi. So Iโve since found out about Lynn Painterโs Zionist views and wonโt be reading anything by her for quite a while. Any of my reviews on her books from before I found out do not represent my feelings about her views as a person.)
[now playing: someone like you by adele]
[Highlights: I LOVE THEM SO MUCH, THEYRE LITERALLY, SO PRECIOUS, LYNN, GIRL, HOW DO YOU DO THIS, EVERY TIME] -
"i knew she didnโt care if I went to prom (which was ironic because Iโd had a very vivid dream two nights ago about Liz showing up on my porch in a white flowered dress and begging me to take her - to prom, among other things), so why was she asking?"
ARE YOU KIDDING ME, LYNN PAINTER????? -
STAWP!! this was so ADORABLE!!
-
"Young moved behind her, his hands covering her hands as he raised the ball for a better shooting angle. NO. His body was right behind her body, so close that it was impossible to tell she ended and where he began. NO. Her cheeks were pink and his face was close to hers and suddenly my ball was on the ground, forgotten, and I was headed toward them. There was a roaring in my ears as I charged in their direction, seeing nothing but his mouth, so close to her face, and his fingers, resting on top of her fingers. NO NO NO. My body was moving of its own accord and the only thought in my head was NO."
oh how i love seeing wes jealous.!!
