This was a go to resource for me, and I still refer to it today (2018). I use NCTE's Booklist books in my teaching. This one is by Dr. Rudine Sim Bishop whose expertise on Literature Response and how it intersects with culture and race gave us the concept of reading literature as being mirrors and windows. She annotates approximately 400 books published between 1990 and 1992 for children in grades K-8 about African Americans, Asian Americans, Hispanic Americans/Latinos, and Native Americans. I love the way her chapters are arranged according to specific themes rather than cultural or racial groups. So, this one is not only a good one, it is a keeper.
