Mothers need a break, too! Young Wilbur rises to the occasion after his weary mommy puts her foot down in this humorous nod to lovable kids who’d rather be carried, please.

Wilbur has always loved to be carried. Of course, now that he’s bigger and stronger and more active . . . he still likes to be carried. Or given a piggyback ride. Or pushed in his cozy stroller, with a prime view of the world going by. When Mommy asks Wilbur to walk somewhere, his legs say, “Not today, thank you.” Wouldn’t his empty stroller be lonely? But today Mommy is achy and tired. So tired, in fact, that she might just have to take a break in Wilbur’s stroller . . . Kids and their caregivers will both get a giggle out of this twist on a familiar scenario—a sunny, funny tribute to doting moms everywhere.

Felt like reading a book about my baby. Made me smile, and my toddler wanted to read it twice.

Wilbur loves for his mommy to carry him. In this picture book set on "Cheery Street", a squirrel mom and her little son Wilbur go through their days visiting the park, and going up and down the hill to their house in rain, sun, and snow. When Wilbur is small his mom picks him up or pushes him in the stroller. But soon Wilbur grows. His mommy gets tired and asks"Wilbur, why don't you walk home today? You're very good at walking." Wilbur has lots of excuses. One day Wilbur drops his toy Rabbit and hops out of the stroller to go back and get him. When he comes back, Mommy is in his stroller. So Wilbur pushes Mommy up and up and up. Somewhat oddly, Wilbur's friends all join in to help him push his Mommy up the hill, even though he has not been pictured playing with any of them. After that day, Wilbur and his mommy are seen walking Rabbit in the stroller.

Large full bleed illustrations with the soft look of pastels show Wilbur and his mother at their house, in the park, and on Cheery Street. The illustrations are large enough on most pages to be used for story time groups as well as individual reading with an adult.

Published first by Walker Books in the UK, this Candlewick title hits the spot with parents who have children in the 2-4 age range who want to be picked up and carried. The plot for preschool children is a little thin but fun illustrations may carry the day.

Carry Me! is a very sweet captivating children's story about a young rabbit?? called Wilbur who likes to be carried or pushed everywhere by his mum.

as he was getting older he was getting heavier and his mum tried lots of things to get him to walk places but nothing worked. but mum's are geniuses and she had a brilliant idea that just worked.

The book is good fun, very clever and a quick read. The illustrations are vibrant and full-page and capture the moments perfectly.

Overall, Carry Me! is a wonderful story that will hopefully teach little ones that they don't need to be pushed or carried everywhere and that whilst they might be getting heavier as they get bigger they can always have a cuddle.
