Ping!
I got matched.
So now I have to go up there and explain to the hapless woman who’s apparently my perfect mate that I’m in no hurry to get married. I’m only 54, goddammit! Who even marries so young?
Me, as it turns out. I do. Because the bride that fell in my lap like the most perfect Yule present won’t let me leave. She’s a harridan and one hell of a bossy shrew who pummels me with cute, lust-provoking insults, and I…
I think I’m in love.
The Temple, a matchmaking service for monsters, shifters, and aliens, is open for service.
Arranged Monster Mates is a series of novellas written by your favorite paranormal and sci-fi romance Eden Ember, Layla Fae, and Cara Wylde.
Each of these steamy stories has it a possessive male, a heroine ready to sacrifice herself to the beast, plenty of spice, and a happily ever after to curl your toes!
Wed to Jack Frost (Arranged Monster Mates, #10) Reviews
-
Buckle up ladies, Wed to Jack Frost. It’s filled with cozy intimacy, smut, and Christmas fluff………
Did you happen to noticed that I’m still on my Sci-Fi Romance kick
Scarlett, her father was dead, but in the final years of his life, he managed to drink away every last penny her mother and her made.
Her Father’s Debt Was passed on to her and her mother, the only way to get out of complete destitute was for Scarlett to applied to become a temple bride and pay off her father’s debts and escape her small town where her and mother and her lived
Jack threw his name into the match making lotto as a drunken dare, Not realizing that he might actually find a bride. …….. Jack felt like he was too young to get married in his culture. He was only 1/4 way through his lifespan. …. With that in mind, he went to go and see if he could find his way out of his upcoming nuptials…….
A cute fast read with the winter season.
I think I might just start from the beginning of this standalone series.

Damn. Jack Frost got kinky!
Jack Frost (really looks like a Yeti) threw his name into the match making lotto as a joke, but then he was actually chosen. Jack thinks he’s way too young to get married, so he goes to the Temple to politely decline his new bride. Scarlett (virgin human) has no intention of letting her match go. She needs the money to pay the debts her loser dad left behind. When Jack tries to dump her, she yells at him and stomps on his foot. We discover our little Jackie boy likes himself a dominant female to boss him around! ❆ SURPRISE ❆
There’s a lot of sexual acts, but not a lot of actual sex, which was disappointing. That said, the sex was really good.My cock thrummed with constant, aching readiness and I licked and devoured, feasting on my little Snowdrop until she made sweet, impatient sounds, her hips writhing, her hands buried in the fur on my head.
Jack really loves for Scarlett to be in charge and tell him what to do. She paddles his ass and then she pegs him? I don’t know if I’m saying that right, but you’ll have to google pegging for yourself. That isn’t a particular kink of mine – but I felt like for a monster fic, the sex was really fun and the author was thinking of something different instead of the same ‘ol dominant male thing. My stern little Snowdrop, dishing out commands and praise like she was made for me. Icy gales, how I wanted to show her more. All the things I loved and those I wanted to try but had never had anyone willing to do them with me.
The only bad part was the actual story. I thought well ok that was boring. I don’t really think it added anything to the story at all.
I really love Jack and Scarlett. I especially love how he calls her his little Snowdrop. I thought that was adorable.
If you want some sexy fun that’s a little different, I def recommend it. -
*+:。.。Ice Queen x Golden retriever vibes (to the max 💀) 。.。:+*
This wasn't my fav story in the series, but I loved their dynamic- The beginning of the story was so fun 😭:
Jack (who's purposefully late to their wedding):"My bride waited for me in the temple, and I was going there not to say my wedding vows, but to politely reject her. Because I’d sooner freeze than marry a human."
Meanwhile Scarlett (who doesn't put up with his shit):"So he thinks he can disrespect me? He thinks I’ll just meekly wait for him because he’s a big, scary beast? Tough luck, monster boy. I’m coming for you, and I’ll drag you to that altar with bare hands if I have to."
LF literally doesn't disappoint with her books in this series 😭.
Having said that 💀, I didn't really like the plot/curse aspect of the story- it didn't feel that relevant and kind of dragged this one out- but aside from that Ms Fae delivered 😌.

This was a chilling and sexy time! I have liked all of Layla Fae's entries that I've read thus far!
4 stars

CW: abusive parent (past) -
oh my word, this was such a fun read!!!
-
“Someone has been very, very bad,” I whispered in his ear, smiling at his sharp intake of breath. “You made me very angry, furball. And I think you deserve to get your ass paddled hard.”
Ole Jack Frost was a Freak-a-Leek!! I loved it 😍 I couldn’t get enough. Ole Jackie Jack came to the temple to cancel his wedding and met his actual match. He couldn’t get enough of his new bride with her beauty and her fire. She was aggressive in a good way, confident and didn’t deal with his shat.
Scarlett needs to get married immediately or she will literally lose her home and her life. This marriage at the temple is exactly what she needs to get her mom out of the weeds and get herself a new home. Like most of the other temple brides she is desperate. She fears for her life but Jack would never know that with how confident and sexy she is.
Their relationship has some ups and downs. As these two very opposite individuals fight for their spot in this new budding love. This read made me laugh, cry a little and rejoice as Scarlett and Jack bloomed together. I am so grateful I read this book last.
If I would have started with this book it would have taken me longer to get through this series. I won’t deny in the beginning I didn’t care for either main character but I’m happy I stayed along for the ride.
Also this book had some good scenes 🥰😩even a clean up with 👅!!! -
3.5 stars.
This was not my personal cup of tea, FMC was Dominant and MMC was submissive, but it was still a good book, in my opinion.
I don’t really know what else to say.
I liked it.
I just don’t have very constructive opinions because it’s something I just don’t enjoy as much. 🤷🏻♀️
Jack was a very cute yeti like monster, and his wagging tail really upped the ✨puppy✨ vibes.
Scarlett had that grumpy, brute thing going on that I only sometimes enjoy in my fictional men(but really only when they’re like that to everyone Except their partner) and didn’t really love for her. But, honestly don’t take my word for it. Like I said, this isn’t my jam so it just doesn’t hit me the way it’s supposed to. -
y’all he literally let her have full control and power in the relationship. THAT’S A MAN. well… monster man.
-
It is an okay read. The story is quite nice, revolves around a new alien world attached to human world. Great baseline for a story. Combination of both world is great.
Characters are cute. Female character is a timid person who got taught how to dominate the male character. She is a strong woman, has her own beliefs and knows what she wants in life and focuses to get it. She sounded like she wants someone to look after her and give her the love that she needed. But I did not expect her to be dominating someone.
The male character seems to be weak. Expected a big, strong, handsome family man to be that.
It is well written and the story has a good base. The title is right because it does tells a story of what it is to be wed to the male character.
Sorry, the story was good but did not do well with me. Might be a good read for those who likes domination and surrender.

Wed to Jack Frost
Layla Fae did not disappoint! This is a winter themed monster romance and Laylas best book to date! Complete with p3gging, female d0m, extra large man bits, arranged marriage with a I hate you but insta lu$t twist. A cute fast read with the winter season.

Loved this so much!!
*full review to come* -
Another good book, mainly focused on the chemistry between the 2 characters and not the plot but if I had a little more from the plot I think it would have been a 5 star read
-
Gracioso pero no gracioso de risa…
-
Femdom Extreme
Although the author warns that this book is Femdom, it is more than that. Scarlet is just a woman who, admittedly, hates men. She is quick tempered and takes advantage of Jack's kinks to take "virtual" vengeance against men and take control.
As big and strong as Jack is.... he is weak. A male who shirks responsibility and commitment.
By the end, they both grow a little. -
For some reason, I couldn’t put this down… it’s not something I would normally read But I bet you’re thinking why? Why is this different? because you read all sorts of weird monster/paranormal romance. *Cough cough smut*🫣
Jack Frost… he’s a gold retriever with a lot of kinks and he especially likes to be pegged. Honestly not a problem, what made me question why I was reading this book was because there’s a puppy kink 🤦♀️
I didn’t mind him being called furball… that actually made me laugh🤣But it’s become apparent that the puppy kink isn’t for me, I can’t do it.
Aside from that it was honestly kinda wholesome and they had some cute banter. I loved that Jack was a cinnamon roll. He loved Scarlett unconditionally and he liked it when she glared at him. I think like is not the right word 😂 She could be herself around him without worrying he would hate her for being bossy. I love that he called her his little snowdrop.
“My stomach loosened, a huge wave of anxiety rushing out and before I knew what I was doing, I was up on the bed, hugging her close. “Missed you,” I said through a tight throat while Scarlett patted me awkwardly.”
This was kinda cute, I don’t regret reading it. If you can get past her calling him her puppy then you will enjoy it. There’s no heavy plot but it was a fun little read. -
Title: Wed to Jack Frost
Author: Layla Fae
Genre: Monster
Spice: 🥵 yes
Series: Interconnected standalones, Arranged Monster Mates
Thoughts - so this is only my second Christmas book this season because I’ve not been feeling it but when I saw a little teaser pic for Jack, 🥵🥵. I want to call this book a small town monster meets Jack Frost who wants to be degraded and pegged. Lemme tell you it was so refreshing to read a monster when the ‘human’ is the person in charge. Definitely recommend if you’re after something a little sweet and a lot naughty this Christmas season.
Plot - Jack signed up for a wife after a night of peer pressure from his family, but before he could say no he’s suddenly confronted by his betrothed demanding he marry her… and the way she talks down to him gets him far more excited than he ever thought he would 😉
* Magic
* Christmas
* Pegging
* Aranged marriage
* Found family
* Kinks unleashed
“Because we have to go slow today. So, please. Next time, you can tie me to the bed and tease me all you want, but I have to do things right tonight.” -
So this took my two days to read. Only because I started so late. Maybe it’s me but I like a monster story that ends in making babies lol. I guess it’s the mom in me idk lol. I must say however, I was highly intrigued by the smut in this book hahahahha it’s not everyday you read about a monster lover like being pegged hahahahahaha. But it was nice change to the usual monster meets human bride at the altar story. However, I think I’m done with this series for now. Considering all the other books I’ve checked aren’t even hundred pages long. Happy reading!

This was not to my tastes at all. I can’t believe this is the same author who wrote Wed to the Lich which was stunning. I respect that she writes such a wide range of kinks and personalities among her Hs and heroines, but this had everything I could possibly dislike in one book. Hateful dislikable heroine? Check. Weak simpering Hero? Check. Heroine who wears the pants? Check. Hero having a kink for being punished and belittled by heroine? Check check. I regret forcing myself to get as far as I did when I knew within the first couple chapters I would not like it. -
Another kinky fest by Layla Fae, this time with the human having some teeth!
Jack doesn’t want a wife, but a drunken dare and a drop of blood have him matched in a day. Scarlett placed her application over a year ago, and is closer and closer to homelessness, if not worse, from debt collectors. Jack arrives at the temple in order to withdraw his application, but Scarlett immediately puts him in his place, and it isn’t long before she has him on his knees. And as more and more of his kinks are revealed and he finds she is fully on board, there is no other place he would rather be.
While following the same premise of others in this series – male monster and female human pairing through DNA matching with most of the females essentially destitute and applying for consideration as a last resort – this book veers off and takes the control away from the monster and puts it firmly in the hands of the human. Something she needs and he desires. There are some snags along the way, namely Jack coming to terms with wanting Scarlett to be in control but feeling like he may be less of a husband because of it.
I loved this installment of Arranged Monster Mates. Other than some mention of past parental verbal abuse, there really aren’t any trigger warnings. But read the content warnings. If you are vanilla, you may not like the double chocolate cupcake that fills this book! The spice is 4/5 and for those that love a good Domme/sub monster dynamic, this is definitely the book for you!.

Captivating
Absolutely loved the Cover Art on this book.. 😍
The story within even better! Definitely loved the detailed and insight with kinks in this book. Gave off 50 shades of gray but better 🌶 🌶🌶🌶🌶. very sweet characters too 👌 easy to read because the story sucked me right in. Definitely looking forward to reading more in this series. -
I really enjoy this series and how the world is set up. The world's been split up/post-apocalyptic world, and monsters and humans now have to live side by side. I think this is very interesting but there hasn't been too much conflict so far. But based on some synopsis of future books that may be changing.
I think this books characters, Scarlett and Jack, are very well paired. She is very rude and angry to most people, and Jack enjoys when she scolds him. She "hates men" but is fine being matched to a male monster. Their dynamic isn't my favorite trope, but it is interesting. As the book progressed, I felt like I liked Scarlett more, but she has a very abrasive personality. I also thought it strange that they "had a low chance of pregnancy from their dynamic" I don't get that..they had sex the first time and both enjoyed it but what..they'll only be pegging from now on? Idk I think it was a way to skirt them having kids or a typical relationship progression, which is fine. I also don't want kids, but this felt like an odd way to express that? Lol Especially since Scarlett said she wasn't opposed to having children.
I also, like Scarlett, didn't like the fact that she got cursed because she wasn't smiling? The elves just get to curse people because they didn't smile "correctly"? Sounds like they are a bunch of jerks. Another good book down. I can't wait for the next one! -
A sexy short read, with minimal angst, and that was well-written.
-
Surpresa porque gostei, mas não consegui ler outros livros da série
-
A spicy holiday read!
I will definitely be reading this one again in the winter. I love the power bottom/inexperienced dom relationship of the main characters! -
Cute monster romance
Funny kinks and good spice
Dual POV
First person -
I am giving this book 4 stars because Jack and his family were amazing but I have a RANT about the FMC.
AUTHORS! There is a difference between being a bossy femme dom and being a B*TCH and Scarlett was a f*ck*ng B*Tch!
It was her whole personality and even worse, her whole crappy attitude was a defense mechanism because she was insecure? Give me a break.
At no point in this book did it feel like Scarlet ever really appreciated Jack or his family. She was snappy and rude and even yelled at Jack blaming him for getting cursed when she WAS TOLD TO SMILE. You bullied the man to marry you or else youd starve on the street yet the only time you show the man genuine feeling is when you are degrading the crap out of him? Him being sub and liking humiliation is a kink when they are alone yet she NEVER changed her attitude outside the bedroom. She deserved to be alone forever with her scowl.
And then threaten to insult the Yules in their territory. She always had a snarl on her face and I enjoyed nothing about this woman. She is in my top 5 horrible FMC list of 2024. Really dissapointed in this FMC because Layla is the best writer in this series. -
Jack is having a semi heated conversation with his mother about his future mate. He should never have taken the dare his younger brother issued. Now the mating temple found a match for him---a human female. He's going there to reject her. Scarlett signed up a year ago and is just getting matched. She's waiting in the temple and it's past the time for her future husband to be here. So she heads out to find him. She has a temper and she knows how to use it. The first words to him are "Furball!!" When he goes to reject her she tells him that if he doesn't marry her now she will be dead within five years. To her astonishment he does what she barked at him. Jack's mother is thrilled her wife-phobic son is finally married. Now Jack and Scarlett must learn to live together. Will her shrewish ways keep him satisfied or kill whatever is between them?
A cute love story that will keep the reader entertained.

"You there! Furball! Where the f*** have you been?"
What a way for Jack and Scarlett to meet. Scarlett was such an interesting character and I loved how she called Jack furball from the very beginning. And then when Jack nicknames her his snowdrop, I just melted inside.
This was such a cute and sweet book. It was the perfect quick read for this time of year! Layla Fae is one of my favorite monster romance and I absolutely love how much of a golden retriever Jack is and the relationship he has with Scarlett was beautiful to read.
Even though this was one of the sweetest books by this author, there was plenty of kink to spice up this book. I had a great time and I can't wait for her next book.
