  its good, rip lydia u would of loved chappell roan and going on hot girl walks to chappell roan or charli xcx, cuz literally brat is such a running girlie playlist. i was running earlier and listening to brat istg, i felt faster and i felt like i could be running for hours. i just took my second hot girl walk of the day listening to chappell and i think my neighbors think im crazy, cuz i just strutted around the block lipsyncing to pink pony club. and then a bug bit me, but its okay, cuz i think it was jealous cuz it will never listen to chappell, isnt that sad? so i forgive the bug, it will never be a super graphic ultra modern girl. biting people is such a super bummer boy move yk?

  I enjoyed getting to know more of Lydia's story! This novella takes place before A Word So Fitly Spoken and A Tune to Make Them Follow but I would read it after those books because it has a couple of spoilers and you won't recognize or understand the characters.

  This was a good story with a creative background, and its short and easy to read. The writing was good and the twist on the fairytale retelling was fun, making it different and better than I expected. I’m interested in seeing how the other books tie into this story.
  
  However, this novella had a lot of typos. A few places I saw had the same word twice, or a sentence was missing a word. But besides those editing mishaps, the writing itself kept me engaged.
  
  ‼️Warning: This is a DARK story. The MC’s family background is physically abusive, and is trained and forced to kill, and it is understood that many of the young girls she rescues have been used and abused by others.

  Honestly I would have eaten this up if it was an entire book....I wanna see Lydia and Elias more! The only reason this got 4 stars is because it was took freaking short. I think they are tied for the top romance of this whole series for me.

  This is an incredible, unique tale! The world building is top notch, the characters are expertly executed, and the storyline is beautifully crafted. This series is a must read for any fantasy lover.
