I’m Karli Brighton, reigning Queen of Epic Screw-Ups.
With twelve med school rejection letters burning a hole in my back pocket, I’m back in my quirky hometown for the summer. Grumpy and shame-faced, I’m not exactly in the mood to make new friends.
Having a wild one-night stand with the charming pretty boy I meet at a local bar to feel better about myself? Probably not the smartest idea.
But in the morning when I crawl out of his sweaty motel sheets, I take comfort in knowing that I’ll never see the gorgeous stranger again.
Until he strolls into my family home one hour later.
Suitcases in hand. Shock painted on his perfect face.
Gasoline, meet Dumpster Fire. Ka-boom!!
The mystery man is my brother’s best friend. He just moved to town to help out with my family’s medical clinic.
Dr. Walks-Around-In-His-Bath-Towel is off-limits to me. But now, he's staying in the bedroom across the hallway.
Just my luck.
Mason and I are at a stalemate.
I need a place to lick my wounds while I figure out my next move.
He needs a roof over his head while he builds a new life for himself.
We each have so much to lose. Especially if my brother discovers our secret.
So we both promise to keep our hands to ourselves.
Lines are drawn in the sand. House rules are signed in ink.
The bathroom schedule is sealed with a handshake.
This won’t be so bad. Right…? Maybe…?
We’ll see.
But then our ‘snarky banter’ leads to 'heated kisses’ leads to ‘more’…Yikes. We’re headed for disaster.
Wild Thing is a steamy, laugh-out-loud, small town, forced proximity romance. It is set in small town Iowa and is part of the Wild Westbrooks series.

Wild thing by Cassi-Ann L miller
First off, sorry for the late review on the book but that week I was working every day and I was too tired to write a review so let's dive in with it.
So, as a reader I never read any of Cassie-Ann L Miller book but let me just say i was not disappoint this book was so funny and cute at the sametime like the character in this book I feel like match this book so much just because of the title itself because it a wild thing because of how that story started with a one night stand. I feel like the main character fit into each other at the perfect time because of the downfalls she was in life with not getting into medical school so she was going through all the ups and down.
So then she met Mason in a bar late at night and had a one night stand with them. Then they both woke up in the morning and thought they would never see each other again. They were so freaking wrong. She goes back home and is thinking she is going to have the whole family house to herself but Mason was also staying there too but she did not know this at the time they hook up she found out later that Mason was one of her brother's best friend and he was staying there also do work at the medical center.
These two character fit into each other life so perfectly in not even funny but I’m glad that they both got their butts out their hands and finding came clean to her family and his that they had real honest feeling for each other and I’m glad they did and finally got their happy ever after at the end of the story. -
3.5 stars
I was eagerly waiting for this book. I've been a fan since the first book. I love these characters. Sadly, had it not been for these characters and being so invested, I'm not sure if I would even have finished this book. The story had such potential but it fell short. It lacked the fluidity that I've come to expect from this author. It felt rushed and disjointed. At times, I even had to look to make sure it was the correct author.
I appreciate this author and her hard work. I can't do what she does. While this book was a miss for me because it lacked the depth I was seeking and had come to expect, I still look forward to what comes next from this author. -
Good but a little repetitive.

Good book
Sweet, hot, and steamy. With a lot of feels. I was very happy reading this book. It was just the romance book I needed. I have not read this author before, so I am going back and picking up some of the other stories this book spun from. -
5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I brought my brain into this book, which was why I hate read it to the very end. Why is she 24 and just finishing college? What is her plan? Come home for 3 months and then what? She made a big deal about how she was only going to be home for the summer but she has 0 plans outside of not going to med school, because she didn't get into any of them. She puts no effort into finding a job or figuring out what step two is. Mason also had his issues, but I found Karli to be overwhelmingly annoying. I've also never used "bestie" or "roomie" as much as either of them thought it.
Her brothers? Overprotective assholes who talk at her for her entire life and only stop when another man points it out to them. Is Mason really a best friend? You see 2 interactions outside of work between the man who's both the boss and brother of the only girl he's supposed to stay away from, but why stay away? You're basically strangers and he has no right to an opinion. And she really didn't spend any time with her own brothers to explain why they were so in her life, I mean she moved into her childhood home and didn't bother to tell any family members she was there, they aren't close.
I'm overthinking this, but the story was meh, the characters were meh, and I'm annoyed by how annoyed I am by it. -
Karli comes home when she gets letters back that she not accepted to med school. Her brother Felix walks in with Mason who’s staying at the house. They look at each other and realize that they had a one night stand the day before. They keep it a secret because Karli has five overbearing brothers. The attraction between is intense and hard to fight. Then she starts working at the clinic and they are spending all day with each other. They start to become friends. Then one thing leads to another. Can they be together? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing book. I love Karli and Mason. Great supporting characters. This book makes you laugh and the ratio between spice and storyline is perfect. Love this series. Love the Easter eggs

Mason’s story DID NOT disappoint!!!
Mason Westbrook has hit a fork in the road of his life. Freshly single and having quit his job at the Honey Hill Hospital is needs a major reset, a regroup and a fresh start. He lands in Star Falls the town 45 mins out from his hometown tangled in a motel’s sheets with Karli. What was meant to be a one night stand quickly leads to him finding that Karli is his bestfriend’s little sister and his new housemate.
I love that this story allowed both Mason and Karli to see their past patterns, stand up for what they truly want, push back when other intervened and powered through for love. Don’t get it twisted…it came with lots of ups and downs, but in the end - they knew their love was true. -

Finally Mason is happy!
This was such a cute book. I'm so glad Mason finally got his happy ending. He was such a great supporting character with his Westbrook cousins that I was waiting for him to finally be able to tell his story. Karli was such a spitfire, she made me laugh so much! They had such great chemistry throughout the whole book, it was fun watching them struggle for control before finally giving in. I'm so excited to keep going into the world of the Brightons and Starlight Falls! -
This was a miss for me, though it wasn't all bad. Mason was ridiculously sweet and thoughtful but it was a hard sell that he'd be in love so quickly after getting out of a relationship that lasted "years and years." Made him seem fickle to me.
Karli drove me a little crazy! I wanted her to stand up to her brothers LONG before she did. She was super immature in the beginning and she was kind of a jerk to Mason.
This was just okay for me. 2.5 Stars -
Story: 3/5
Spice: 2.5/5
This book was good in places and I definitely think the author is talented. I just felt the beginning had too much exposition. There was too much focus on other characters and setting up the world and not enough on Karli and Mason. So when things did finally start happening, it felt a bit rushed.
Would I read more of this author? Possibly. But right now my TBR is too long to focus on something I’m not 100% invested in. -
This was a cute story! It's part of a larger series but it is a standalone read. It has the small town, one night stand, close proximity, and brother's best friend tropes. It's pretty simple but it hit me in the feels and had some pretty spicy scenes too. Everything you'd want in a romance. Looking forward to reading more in this series.
-
I really liked it! Great double trope
-best friends sister
-think it's a one night stand, then they are in your new life
I thought there were many honest to real life moments that people feel when they are transitioning in life, and that made the chemistry between the MC even better
Would read again -
Mason Westbrook, where have you been all my life? Dear me, that man is charming, caring and family oriented! His story is such a fantastic addition to the series and I think Wild Thing might be my new favourite!
Moving away from his family to get over a past relationship, new job, new town, new place to live, he has to live with his best friends sister.
Needless to say, this book was all kinds of wonderful. Mason is definitely good for a woman’s moral. However, the temptation is there and do these two cross the line?
Family, friendships and the small town feel, made this one story I will never forget.
Loved it to bits. This story had it all. -
adorable with well written spice
This book was so sweet! It was an enjoyable light read, the only gripe I had was the main thing keeping them apart was really not a big deal. But the falling for each other and the spice was great! -
cute, quirky romance
The build-up of Karli and Mason’s romance was predictably erratic and electrically charged. Both characters don’t seem to very in tuned with their own emotions and feelings, but it also added to the eventual climax.
