Can You Survive the Desert? (You Choose: Survival) Reviews

Out of all the books in this series that I've read so far, it seems like I am least likely to survive in the desert. Who knew?

This is part of the You Choose/Can You Survive series of adventure books that puts the reader in the middle of the action. This time the reader is dropped into the desert far away from civilization and forced to make choices that will hopefully lead to survival.
At the end of the first chapter, readers get to choose from three different deserts to try to survive: (1) Africa's Sahara Desert,(2) North America's Sonoran Desert, or (3) Asia's Gobi Desert. Then there are numerous possible outcomes for each of these extreme locations that will lead you to survival or death.
My middle school students will love this adventure tale that's full of action; the bonus is that they will also learn real information about these deserts, along with some great pictures and illustrations that match the story. A fun fact that I learned is that deserts cover 20% of Earth's land area, but they are not all hot. Antarctica is considered a desert too.
The book ends with additional useful information, including: survival tips, mini-biographies of true survivors, a survival quiz, more books to read, the Fact Hound website code to find out more resources, a glossary, a bibliography and an index. -
This book is great! Try to survive in the desert in this pick-your-own-path book!
This book is really fun! I loved reading it because I get to pick my path and see if I can survive. -
Do you have what it takes to be placed in a survival situation, and survive in the desert? How will you collect water, food, take shelter, and more? You Choose, and You Decide in this book. I love the survival You Choose series, and there are so many different situations and endings that you’ll never get bored.
