No reason to criticize a self-published e-book that is this honest and seeks to share the experience of people who actually built, and live in, a non-conventional home, i.e., a yurt.
If nothing else, it would be good for schools or for people who have never explored unconventional housing options. It provides an easy access point to a much larger discussion about many subjects.
Plus: are you telling me you do not want a yurt office full of campaign furniture and a far-infrared sauna? Of course, you do.
And, on further research:
Seems like a few yurt companies are closed or have changed hands recently. -
Great!
Really easy to read! Good info ... Like how it is pieced together with a great summary of their timeline and cost in the end! -
It's a short e-book, so it doesn't get into too much detail, but the author is enthusiastic, and gives some good, basic information on going through the process of buying and setting up a yurt.

I know this is not the tent was looking for
I've been looking for a book on how to build a yurt tent. You know that is what yurt is. The Mongol people who came up with this were nomadic .they live on horses and tents with frit floors .so far I've found no books about what I would call a real yurt . I know that my ideas of what a yurt is and is not but to me most of these buildings are the same as calling an A frame house a teepee you miss the point -
Good info for those interested in yurt living.
A really quick read and loaded with useful info about preparing your site, and yourself for this type of lifestyle.
