Heart of the Wolf Reviews

Jocelyn is destined to become empress after her father dies. Upon his deathbed, he requests that she journey into the mountains to contact Daken, leader of the mysteries Kassid. She must ask for his help against an impending invasion. En route, Jocelyn’s guards are killed and Daken rescues her when their camp is attacked by enemy soldiers. Daken takes her to his mountain fortress where she’s exposed to the liberal lifestyle of the Kassid people. Are the rumors true about their ancient magic? She’ll need to find out when winter ends because that is when she’ll assume her role as empress. But she doesn’t count on the fierce warrior capturing her heart. This tale is an intriguing futuristic romance that mixes myth and magic in a faraway land.

    Seventeen out of 55.

Because of my sensitive nose, I am not fond of pre-loved books, especially ones with tattered and brownish pages. ✌️

However, if I liked the blurb and the price was very cheap, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this one.

Headstrong and a non-believer in legends, Jocelyn was soon to be queen of an empire. Yet, a looming war between the other states made her go to the Dark Mountains to ask for help; the place where Kassid resides, said to be a powerful and shape-shifting person.

Daken, the mysterious and appealing leader, might be her citizens' one salvation, but it would take courage and determination to convince him, especially since her heart might be at stake as well.

I liked the darkness and mystery involved in this story. It was not too much, but at the same time, the anticipation of what would happen next was good. I thought there would be an actual shape shifting of a human to a wolf, yet there was no reveal. However, the description of Daken and Kassid men was very clear. The combination of forward-looking, fantasy, and romance genres was not overdone, which I enjoyed.❤️

    Развлекателен!
На моменти ми приличаше на приказка за човека-вълк и неговата принцеса.
Темите,които се засягат са: за любовта няма възраст,външността не е от значение,а това какъв си отвътре,жертвоготовността.

I have little to say about this book. The story was good enough, the writing style not so much. The main characters were not well developed, especially Daken. His character is still a mystery for me...and I won't even try to understand his reasons for the things he did (or should I say postponed doing?!). I could kind of relate to Jocelyn although some of her reactions to things were not very believable. Since the book was described as futuristic romance (or as paranormal romace in goodreads) I expected more fantasy and at least a little bit of action.

Overall I read the book and I liked it but I'm not impressed.
