In First Night (prelude - Amazon freebie and included in Night after Night) entertainment attorney Clay Nichols, in town on business and tired after a long day of negations, decides to stop by the bar, Cubic Z to meet bartender Julia Bell. He had been given her info by her sister the weekend prior. The story follows their first meeting and night together.
Night after Night (book 1) is the continuation for Clay and Julia’s steamy night together. Clay is back in New York, but neither is ready to let go just yet so they book a weekend trip for Julia to visit Clay Julia is torn as she has this big secret she can’t disclose which prevents her from being in a relationship. Clay healed, but with lessons learned from a bad relationship is set on honesty and full disclosure.

Night after Night offered lots of steamy and playful sex, but story also allowed for the plot and the dialogue to develop. Julia failed me (Clay), but I am hoping she will redeem herself in book 3. Story ends with a huge cliffy and so I am looking forward to book 2,

What's not to love about this book, it had hot steamy off the chart sex scenes, a blooming romance, angst, and of course dirty talks. If one steamy night in San Francisco had Clay begging more for Julia, just imagine what crazy sexual fantasies these two can fulfill one weekend in New York. With Clay's dirty talks and kinks and Julia's sexual appetite, these two redefined the saying NYC: "The City that Never Sleeps." Let me just say, not much sleeping going on in NYC when these two are around each other. As for sexual compatibility, these two pass with flying colors but when it comes to honesty, Julia fails big time. As much as you wanted Julia to open up with Clay, I fully understood where she was coming from. Her need to protect her loved ones is her number one priority and I admire her strength and love for that.
Besides off the chart sex, Ms. Blakely was able to showcase how these two were more than just compatible sexually. I loved how we get to know more of Clay and Julia’s past. Clay's raw honesty was surprising. I didn't expect for him to be so open and I thought that was amazing especially coming from a hot alpha lawyer. I loved Julia's need to protect her loved ones. The storyline and Clay's dirty talks made me devour this book. I bow down to Ms. Blakely for her writing her first erotic romance series because in my opinion, she did one hell of a fantastic job.
The only complaint I have for Ms. Blakely is I need After This Night like right now. Can it be May already? I want Clay Nichols!! After this whirlwind relationship Clay and Julia takes us on in Night after Night, I need one Julia's special cocktails, the purple snow globe. So if you haven't read First Night, go read it and I can guarantee that you will definitely want to read Night after Night.

JULIA never thought it would be that hard to forget CLAY. He's always on her mind. Is there a future for those two? They both just wanted to have some fun. But now it's slowy turning into something more..AND I'M LOVING IT!!!!!!!!

My review may seem a little harsh....
There were some things I didn't like and just couldn't move past, which is why I rated it like it is. They are....
(1) Their relationship was too easy. It started out easy and continued easy. It wasn't love at first sight or insta-love, but it was close.
(2) There were a lot of things repeated throughout. The problems with the ex, their life (i.e. owing debt or whatever else) were mentioned constantly. I can understand explaining it once in their inner monologue and then explaining it again to the significant other. What I can't handle is the constant repetition in their own heads. Ok, we get it.
(3) The dirty talk....Ummmm, what was that? That wasn't dirty talk. That was a drawn-out, explained dialogue. Dirty talk should be short and sweet....well...not sweet.
(4) Their first sexual encounter (which happened in the novella, First Night), that irked me. She hadn't been with anyone in over a year, so why is she carrying handcuffs in her purse? Especially when she said she hadn't used them on anyone else. That just....don't.....fit. I mean, for the story, if tying up was the idea there could have been something lying around in the bar to use, even if it was something random. Instead it was like insert handcuffs here. Now if she hooked up with people every night or every weekend I could see carrying them around, if that is what you are into. But no, she had them. Were they there the entire year? Did she just buy them? I mean what!? Why were they there? Plus Clay made a comment before he left to go to the bar that he should bring his. Why? For a one-night stand, a first time hookup, someone you haven't even met yet, and who knows if you ever find someone so....Why would you bring handcuffs? There were other things that didn't fit from my perspective, this was just an example.
The rest of the story flowed smoothly for me. It was an easy read. Just the sex scenes....Well, I guess they weren't for me. That and the monotonous things. That is all. -

I was so torn over which side of Clay I loved more, his dirty side that was all caveman and taking what he wanted or the moments when you saw that he was putting his heart in her hands and hoping she wouldn’t break it.
The simple nature of the email exchange that held so much more than just a few words, loved’em. Not sure what it is about, but when an author throws in a few email or text exchanges into the story I always tend to love it. Such a nice break in the usual way the characters are either communicating or just simply reading their thoughts.
We get to know exactly what Julia is hiding and I could see her fear of exposing her secrets but part of me wanted her to fall into his arms and let him fix it all for her. This is shaping up to be a fantastic start to this series and although I am seriously delirious with happiness that I was able to get an ARC of this, even the short wait till mid-May is far too long to wait for the next book. -

Julia Bell’s life doesn’t leave room for any kind of commitment. Not only is she super busy working as a bartender at the trendy bar that she co-owns but her complicated history with men pretty much destroyed any hopes and dreams of a happily ever after. One specific relationship left her with lingering trust issues and problems that she is still trying to resolve.
As a reader, I have a difficult time finding female main characters in books that I can relate to and respect. I get so tired of reading about women who appear weak and whine about all their problems but do nothing to try and solve them. I think this is one of the biggest reasons that Julia’s character really stood out to me and is why I would place her on my short list of book women that I have felt a solid connection with. She’s strong, independent, not afraid of her sexuality, and most of all, she will do anything to solve her own problems while keeping her loved ones out of a bad situation.
Clay Nichols is a handsome, charming, and confident entertainment lawyer who drops by Julia’s bar one night when he is in town on a short work assignment. I found Clay’s character to be so inherently sexy! Knowing that he is a lawyer, a dominant in the bedroom, and loves to talk dirty during sex was a total turn on for me!

I like what’s in here,” he said, stretching across her to tap her forehead with his index finger, “And I like doing the things here,” he said, sweeping his thumb across her lips, “that involve talking.” He traveled down her chest, tracing a line between her breasts, and landing on her heart. “I also like the things I’m seeing in here.”
While Julia and Clay initially planned on one night full of sexual pleasure without any strings attached, their growing feelings for one another lead to much more than that. But can their relationship withstand over 3,000 miles and overcome the problems that Julia is keeping secret?
Night After Night is the sensual story of two people doing their best to make a relationship work despite the cards being stacked against them. It is the perfect mix of memorable characters, sexual tension, and just enough angst to keep you wanting more.

I remember reading this book a long time ago adn I really liked it. The heroine has sass and knows how to enamour the hero. And he's totally smitten with her. They make a good match. It's a great story.

This was my first Lauren Blakely book (ok well second cos I read the novella too!) and I really enjoyed her writing.
The story adapted and flowed smoothly.
Character chemistry was amazing.
Descriptions and such were good.

Kitabı yıllar önce, kapağa tav olup TBR yapmıştım. Bu ayki beklenmedik ruh halimle birkaç kitabı listemden şutlayınca, listeye kaynak yapmak gerekti. Neyse efenim, indireceğim zaman karşıma Türkçe edisyon çıkmasın mı?
O tuhaf, kapağımsa, değişik şeyle basılmasaydı akıcı çevirisiyle yayınevi on numara, beş yıldızlık bir işe imza atmış olurdu aslında ama o kapak… Buraya ekleyip gözlerimin daha fazla kan ağlamasını bile göz alamadım zaten.
Kitabın ilk cümleleri işte gömeceğim yeni kitap, düşüncesini uyandırdı ama yok arkadaş, yok! Okudukça her şey yerli yerine oturmaya, olanca tatlılığıyla beni çıldırtmaya başladı. Karakterlerin güzelliği, olayların akışı karşısında kıskançlığımdan öldüm.
Başka bir ruh halinde okusaydım güzel bir erotik kitap der geçerdim. Bu şartlar altında ise harikaydı!

I didn’t read the prequel but I didn’t feel lost or anything during this first book so clearly it wasn’t necessary. It may have given me a bit more insight to Julia’s circumstances which would have been nice.
This is a really sexy book which of course I thoroughly enjoy reading but it also has an interesting storyline. I wouldn’t say it ends on a cliffhanger per se but you wouldn’t stop after this first books since there is much more story to learn about.
On to the next book!!! -

This is a major dose of insta-lust...and the lust is good stuff so I'm not complaining. Of course the story is headed toward "one night" was never gonna be enough! both Clay and Julia seem to be finding everything they need in one another...too bad Julia is unable to let go of her tricky past. She can't be with Clay and keep her past from possibly hurting him. so...the angst starts!

Smutastic!
Man, I love Lauren Blakely books.. and how they are on the romance package. It makes me a very happy girl. Plus, the two MC's in Night After Night were definitely something to fall in love with as well. Clay and Julia were kind of made for each other - if you are into that sort of crap. They had amazing chemistry.. but they both were hurt from past relationships. So, you'd think.. they would've found a way to get over those with each other.. but yet, that didn't happen.
It came so close though but I knew it was going to be a teasing moment. Ugh! I really wanted a different outcome.. but I somehow knew my hopes were way too high. While coming down from some disappointment.. I'm completely hooked to dive into the next book of this series. I need to know what is going to happen for Clay and Julia. I really really hope they don't screw anything up worst than it already is.

This series is absolutely amazing!! Best series of 2014. I read through them all within 2 days, and rushed to buy the paperbacks. To say I love them, would be an understatement.
We start this off hot. Real hot. One encounter is all it takes for bartender and owner of Cubic Z, Julia Bell, to find exactly what she wants. What she needs. At least eight inches and a brain!
Clay Nichols, celebrity lawyer, walks into her bar, not expecting much. But gets everything he has been wanting. Julia has a beautiful body, a sharp tongue, and a take no prisoners attitude. Just how Clay likes his women.
They agree on one night.
A sexy, hot tryst in her bar. But things don’t stop there (of course) Their smoldering chemistry is too much to pass up, so they agree to meet up again.
Julia travels from San Francisco to New York for one hot weekend with Clay. How could she not? When she is with him, she can forget her worries, her troubles, and just be herself.
Believe me, anyone who is with Clay and thinking about anything/anyone other than him is insane. He is sex on a stick. Confident, dirty talking, and passionate. But he is also so much more. He is smart and loyal. So in not so many words, he is perfect!

So how do two people that find it nearly impossible to trust, but are so right for the each other, make it work? Can they look beyond their past and present troubles and just be together? Or will Charlie and lies tear them apart for good?

3.5 stars, I would've given it the full 4 but the narrator could've been better. He didn't put a lot of emotion into it, especially during the smut scenes (of which there are several.) The story was alright, I would like more information about how Julia got into her situation, but maybe that will come next book. Clay is really intense and comes on really strong. The smut and slight BDSM was the best part and I'm looking forward to seeing more in book 2.

Julia owns a bar in San Francisco and Clay is an entertainment lawyer in New York. When mutual friends suggest Clay look Julia up, sparks fly and they spend the weekend in bed.
They’re very compatible. They each like a bit of king and a bit of creativity in the bedroom, and neither one has any hang-ups about letting the other take the lead. They’re both strong, confident characters, they have good, close relationships with friends and family, they like the same movies and books, they find the same stuff funny, and they both really like getting it on. They’re fun, sexy characters and very likeable.
They’re soon meeting for another weekend, this time at Clay’s place in New York, and planning to try for a long distance relationship. But Clay’s been burned before. His last serious relationship ended because his girlfriend was addicted to prescription painkillers. He tried to support her through it, but ended up badly hurt by her secrets and lies. Now he won’t tolerate either in a relationship.
And unfortunately, Julia has one doozy of a secret. Her last boyfriend skipped town, leaving her indebted to a mob boss. She’s paying off her debt playing poker with rich idiots. She distracts them with her magnificent boobiage, and takes them to the cleaners with her sick poker skills. Naturally, she’s not happy about how this has all turned out, and she’s scared that the mob boss will go after her employees, her friends, and her family, if she doesn’t obey orders.
‘Night After Night’ has lots of sex scenes. There’s a bit of bondage, a bit of edgy in public stuff, some rough, and a lot of Julia and Clay really enjoying each other. They each like to take the lead, and they’re pretty good at what they do. Clay comes across as the more inventive one, but that’s fine: lots of romance sex is based on a heroine having zero to little experience and all sorts of hang ups, so it was nice to have the couple on a more, if not completely, equal footing. If I have any slight reservations about how the sexy times all turn out, it’s that both of them are a little smug. They throw a little shade on the biggest kinky book series of all time by pointing out how completely consensual and shared all of this is, and that their kink isn’t the result of damaged childhoods etc. Since this book was published in 2014, I think it’s really time to get over it, but this is a minor quibble and doesn’t interfere in the overall enjoyment of what’s going on.
This is the first in a trilogy, and I’m still debating whether to continue. I’ve rated the book three stars because while I enjoyed the characters and their interactions, and I’m sure Blakely can keep them together in new and interesting ways over the next too books, I thought the plot around Julia and the mob boss was pretty thin. While I’m sure there are lots of layers of complexity to it, it didn’t really hook me. -
This book was excellent! I LOVED IT!
Clay and Julia are fantastic together and have off the charts chemistry. Clay is sexy, commanding and controlling and oh man he’s got a dirty talking mouth. He’s so full of passion, I couldn't get enough! Clay is definitely a new book boyfriend. Julia is a feisty, strong and independent woman and I loved her equally. I don't say that often because normally I always like the man better than the woman, but Julia is a fantastic character. I love the connection they have as well.
Clay might be a dirty talker but Julia can hold her own, it's like a verbal sexy time sparing match. That being said, Clay may have a dirty talking mouth but his tender and sweet moments completely melted me. There’s a nice mix of playfulness with the characters also, they are just so fun and likable. The hot times in this book are just wow. I mean – WOW - off the charts, fans self, holy goodness, HOT!
We learn about Clay and Julia’s past but Julia is guarded about sharing hers with Clay. This created an element of drama and tension that I really enjoyed. I felt bad for Clay and what he went through, it makes sense why he feels the way he does about certain things. I understand why Julia isn’t fully opening up to him either, she’s in a tough spot.
I thought this story was extremely well written. It had a strong beginning, middle, and end. It was evenly paced and had the right amount of drama mixed in. There was a nice balance between the story and the hot times as well. The author tells a wonderful story that really builds.
I love that other characters from previous Lauren Blakely books are involved. The author has created an interconnected world and I am HUGE fan of it.
My heart was stuck in my throat at the end, even though I knew a cliffhanger was coming. After This Night is book two in the Seductive Nights series and I’m extremely anxious to find out the conclusion.
Loved this. Loved Clay. Loved Julia. Loved their dirty mouths and hot (and sometimes kinky!) sexcapades. Fantastic story! 5 stars!

You know whats in store when you read conversations like that. And Clay and Julia get the award for being the best Dirty Talking, Dominating couple I have read for a while, both of them like to be in charge, yet they both also know when to let the other lead the way.
She was a tall drink of a woman and her red hair was blowing in the late afternoon breeze.
Clay isn't afraid to say what is on his mind, he is also comfortable with the fact that he likes a little kink in (and out) of the bedroom -
"I like what I like and I like it all with you"
He's the sexiest, dirtiest, smartest, and kindest man I have ever met.
So what started as one night and turned into overnight and a day, has now progressed into a long weekend. Unfortunately Julia has secrets, and fear of reprisals from those secrets mean she is unable to be fully honest with Clay about a few aspects of her life. Clay, having been burnt in the past by dishonesty isn't sure whether he can live with Julia's secrets...
This is a series, and as such this novella ends on a cliffhanger. I as a rule steer clear of series and cliffhangers in general, as I just get annoyed at having to wait for the next book. But the final part in Clay and Julia's story is released mid May (but not the series), so I was happy to give Night After Night a go, as I won't have to re-read everything when the After This Night is released. I am glad I did, a wholly enjoyable read from Lauren Blakely, she has gotten the perfect balance between hot and dirty sex, and an absorbing storyline in my opinion.

This is part one of a two part story... the second installment comes out on May 12. :) Just FYI for those who may want to wait until they are both released.
This was THE.BEST.EROTICA I have read in a while... I absolutely loved this couple. Clay and Julia have superb chemistry that had me grinning and smiling each time they were together. What I loved most about this story was the equal give and take... and the diversity of their intimacy. Sometimes it was kinky and playful, sometimes it was hard and rough and then there were those sweet and tender moments thrown in that showed a different side to them both. They were perfect together. Equal give and take in the bedroom always scores high points for me in erotica.
And... I just have to say that I am so glad that we finally have a lead male who is a successful, good looking guy who isn't a stalker, or comes from a damaged past, or has dark disturbing fetishes or control issues! Just a well rounded, makes me swoon guy who sometimes likes it kinky, or rough, or sweet... he likes to play and tease and he is completely devoted to his gal's pleasure! **LOVE** :)
Julia is just the kind of gal I like in erotica... she is sexy, erotic and enjoys dominating as much as she does submitting. (no this is not BDSM... it's playful kinky) She is successful, smart and completely taken by surprise by Clay. What was supposed to be some quick fun with a good looking guy turns into so much more. Julia, however, has problems that she doesn't want Clay to know about and this is causing ripples in their potentially perfect relationship. And, we'll just have to see how this plays out in the next installment.
Highly recommend to fans of erotica...

What a fantastic book!! =D
I really enjoy Lauren Blakely writing style and the way she creates those characters that we can so easily get attached.
First of all I love the plot that we get with the the little novella about a one night stand that ends becoming more for both of those characters.
Obviously this would mean nothing if we didn't get great characters which we do get with our main couple!
Julia is amazing character, we get the feeling that she's a strong woman and her "secret" is an understandable one. We do get why she's in that situation (which is not so ABSURD like some authors like to write) and we can understand her decisions.
Clay is one those hot alpha males that I always love to read! The relationship between those two characters is not only scorching hot but we do also get to see things evolve. Clay hates lies and is interesting to see how he deals with this problem while trying to manage and relationship with Julia.
Ohhh...have I mention that the SEX is this book is hooottttt??
The VERDICT: I loved this book, it was a great a read and I can't wait to see how the story will develop with the next book that I believe t will conclude this main plot.
Lauren was incredible in giving us an ending that make us curious and wanting more without using the "usual" cliffy ending where we readers are left with heart problems! -
Night After Night is one of those stories that hooks you in and leaves you breathless wondering what is going to happen. To me this is effing brilliant I mean just brilliant. It took me a couple days to read it because of school and work but when I shut myself off and started reading oh I fell in love with Julia and Clay.
Julia and Clay have had that one night of passion and the craziest chemistry they have known but Julia knows it can only be for that one night. She knows what she has in her life and Clay is to good to be a part of the dark side of her life that was brought to her by her piece of crap ex boyfriend. But Julia can't forget the night she spent with Clay and wants more but how do you get more when you have so much hidden?
Clay wants Julia and he will stop at nothing to get her. What he doesn't know is that she comes with some serious luggage. All Clay knows is that the one night he had with Julia totally blew his mind and he needs more from her. When Clay finds out what Julia has been into will he feel the same way? Will Clay want her as bad as he does? Is Clay willing to give it all up for her?
This is one series I am going to be stalking Lauren for because I need more Clay. I mean he is so sexy and loving and smart mouthed and Julia she is so snarky and she gives as good as she gets and I loved that about her. This is one series everyone should follow because Clay and Julia's story is not done and I can't wait to see what happens next! -

Holy Hot Batman Clay is one heck of a dirty talker, if you read my reviews you know, YOU KNOW, this is my weakness I can’t get enough of a dirty talking man.
I wish so much for Julia for her to be free to be her own person so she can have all that is waiting for her. This book makes you want her to get everything she ever wanted.
It ends a little on a cliffhanger but who cares on to the next!

I absolutely ADORE Clay’s dirty, dirty mouth. It is so incredibly sexy. I have a feeling that I would do just about ANYTHING that man demands me to do. He knows what he wants in the bedroom, and he will make you weak in the knees, just by hearing the sound of his voice. Julia is quite the amazing heroine. She is pretty badass if you ask me. She can hold her own in life, but when in comes to Clay, she just melts for him. They compliment each other so well. I also respect the hell out of her. I respect the fact that she is just doing what needs to be done in order to protect her family. It’s incredibly admirable. It just broke my heart because Clay wanted more, and Julia just knew she couldn’t give all of herself because of the secrets. How far would you go to protect the ones you loved?

The prequel to the Seductive Nights Series was my first taste of Lauren Blakely’s work, and after finishing Night after Night, I can say with all of my heart, that Ms. Blakely has created another Super Fan! She writes Erotic Romance like she is a veteran. The characters are so amazing and relatable in so many aspects, they just jump out of the story. The storyline is so entertaining and suspenseful, you can’t help but keep your eyes glued to the pages. I devoured this book in one night, and I immediately craved more of Clay and Julia. I was possessed by Clay’s charms and dominance, and I was captivated by Julia’s heart and soul. A fantastic, scorching love story that will have you at the edge of your seat, Night after Night will keep you hooked the whole way through and then some. Now to count down the days until May 12th, when I can sink my teeth back in to Clay Nichols, and the woman he will do anything to claim as HIS.
