ESCAPE FROM FORT ISAAC Reviews
-
A rather inept "hero", March 7, 2016
This review is from: ESCAPE FROM FORT ISAAC (Kindle Edition)
Even in the 1800's, I doubt that those sentenced to prison by a military court martial would be housed in a state prison. I am certain that state governors had and have no authority to pardon or commute the sentences of military prisoners. These are the two inaccuracies in the novel which I found to be most notable.
The main character, I hate to use the term hero for a man who mostly lucked through his problems, is an army officer convicted of a brutal rape and murder in a court martial. After escaping, through no effort of his own, he spends the rest of the novel wandering around trying to prove his innocence. He makes erroneous assumptions, falls into traps and generally his feeble attempts to discover the truth are futile. Justice finally prevails through the actions of others. His escape from death at the hands of the real killer is accomplished through sheer chance, not competence. I downloaded this novel via Kindle Unlimited. -
A BW. Fort Isaac Western Action Adventure (EFFI)
BW. has penned a Fort Isaac western action adventure titled, "Escape From Fort Isaac" which begins with a Lieutenant being charged with rape. He is allowed to escape by the actual rapist. He remains at large until he turns himself in for trial. He does. His attorney is his roommate from West Point. New evidence is brought forth during the trial. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS
