The Marvel titles in Disney's World of Reading line are designed to offer reluctant readers, specifically boys, books that they will want to read by featuring characters they love. The series is broken into three levels that invoke the rigorous training courses that their favorite Marvel heroes must engage in to perfect their super powers. With this series, boys will perfect their own power to read.

This Level 1 Reader introduces readers ages 4-6 to the misfit team of Super Heroes, the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Guardians of the Galaxy: These are the Guardians (World of Reading Level 1) Reviews

  • Liz Todd

Actually educational for me. I have always wonder who the heck Groot is. Glad a Kinder asked me to read this book to him today.

  • Cam

Another good introduction book to outer space heroes. Great for kindergarten age kids.

  • Diana

Considering the level, this was a little hard for my young reader. And if you're expecting movie canon or images, you'll be disappointed. My young reader and I were both rather bored. It was okay, but I wouldn't read it again.

  • Villain E

An introduction to the Guardians of the Galaxy for early readers. The character designs look like the comics, but it's the lineup from the movie.

  • Asho

S continues his summer of being completely obsessed with these super hero easy reader books. I continue my summer of tolerating them and even feigning enthusiasm for his sake, because I love how much he loves them, even if they aren't my cup of tea.

ETA February 2019: S checked this out again this weekend. I said, "You've read that one before," and he said, "I know, I just really love it." He can just about read it independently now, at least, which is nice.

This is still a less challenging version of
The Story of the Guardians of the Galaxy
    - intended for very early readers. But, again, how many 4-5 year-olds will see this movie to want to read this book?

  • Courtney

We are not really a "Guardians of the Galaxy" family; however, we picked this story out at the library and really enjoyed reading it together.

I cannot really base my review on knowledge of these stories; however, I can say that it was well written and very well-done illustration wise. Overall, good job.

Getting to know the main characters in this primer for Pre-K through Grade 1 readers. I was suprised to see a movie spoiler on page 6, but this is about the comic characters, not primarily about the motion picture.
