Holly Horse and the Great Quest Reviews

Pretty interesting story on how to appreciate what we have, but also on how to look for new things, the help we can get along the way, how different people like different things...
For kids over 5 I'd say. Good for some adults too :D -
Holly Horse and the Great Quest by Jenny Loveless is a children's book with a message that transcends the ages...the grass is always greener...or is it? Join Molly on her quest to find out!

Holly was a happy horse with plenty of things to be grateful for. But when she heard her sisters mention "the greenest, most delectable grass," she was off on a quest to find this grass. And what an adventure it was! On the way, she met new friends who helped her find the way. Finally she found what she was seeking, but she was in for a big surprise and a valuable lesson learned.
"Holly Horse and the Great Quest" is a fine bedtime story for youngsters, especially kids who've dreamed of having their own pony. The story has a little bit of animal lore as Holly befriends critters like Gary Goat, Ollie Owl, and Tim Tortoise, each of which helps her along the way. As Holly gets further and further away from home, she gradually realizes that the grass isn't always greener on the other side of the fence. The lesson: There's no place like home.

This book was really good. It was just long enough for a quick, but not too quick bedtime story. The lesson about being thankful for what we have was presented in a very creative way. My daughter loved it and to my surprise, I actually loved reading it too. The story flowed well and the characters were enjoyable.

A simple story with a great message for young ones. Plenty of illustrations to build the story, these were simple but fitting and colourful. Lovely short read for young ones.

Whilst this book may have a moral compass in which it constantly tries to remind you of, the book is incredibly bland. Even though this is coming from an adult there is no excitement, no build up to the well intended meaning of the book. This in my opinion, would not keep children engaged throughout the book unless they were very early readers.

Good children book with a message
Holly horse takes a journey into mountains only to find out that what she was looking is in her own backyard. This book provides good interaction between child and parent. -
This moral of the story book was so great to read. It's a perfect little tale for reading to your little ones. It's easy to understand and offers great tips in parenting skills and involving your little ones.
