Paranoia and bloodshed are unleashed, when a couple’s dream home slowly turns into a nightmare. An uprooted tree reveals a sinister surprise of death and darkness. And a prohibition-era ghost reveals more about the mysterious owner of everyone’s favorite pub…
Welcome to Hannigan’s, a cozy tavern just down the road, where the patrons have a taste for the macabre. Come for the drinks. Stay for the tales of terror.
As you sip your cocktail, a chill runs down your spine. A shadowy figure stares at you from across the bar. The laughter around you fades to a muted whisper. The figure raises an arm and extends a bony hand to point a finger… at you!
Glancing down, you see ice crystals form on your skin. The frost crawls up your arm, engulfs your neck. You try to scream, but it’s too late… The sun has set, and the room goes dark.
Death has claimed you. And it’s last call at Hannigan's for the night…
Tavern of Terror Vol. 6: Short Horror Stories Anthology Reviews
-
I'm always excited to see a new Tavern of Terror available from Scare Street, knowing I will once again be afforded multiple opportunities to feel my bones turn to ice and frissons of terror spider-tap up and down my spine. I'm sure whenever I read an Anthology in this Series, that my face drains of color, my heart leaps, and my breath threatens to give up the Ghost.
TAVERN OF TERROR pVOL. 6, like its predecessors, delivers a dozen heartstopping tales you wish you had not read alone in the dark. -
Another fine collection of horror stories, and this is my favorite volume so far. For one thing, some of the stories actually involve the tavern- Hannigan’s- of the title. Hannigan’s is slowly being established as not just a place where spooky stories are told, but as a place with spookiness of its own. But that’s not the only reason I loved this book more than the others; usually. with a short story collection, things are hit or miss, but I loved all the stories in this collection. There is some serious weirdness going on in this tales, from banshees to horrible old gods to antiques that possess people. Five stars.

This is one of my favorite Scare Street series. The stories are all well written and give me a sense of impending dread. Each entry is based more or less around a quaint but mysterious pub called Hannegan's. Patrons at Hannegan's tell stories and strange things happen that are never explained. A big question is - is there really a person named Hannegan? I won't tell.
Scare Street continues to offer top notch horror. I've read a lot of horror from many different writers and few of them continually provide such high quality fiction. -
This one really spooked me. The stories were spine tingling and had you checking in ver your shoulder . At least for me that’s how I felt. Each story got creepier than the next. The narrator did an excellent job portraying all the characters in each story. The narrator did give life to each story which made them even better.

I can't say enough good things about this series. Or Scare Street for that matter. If you read any of my reviews for these books, this is no different. Even with all the "horror" novels and anthologies out, Tavern of Tavern manages to put out unique stories. No editing issues either. Can't recommend this series or pretty much anything from Scare Street enough.

Great author
I just love this series so much. I really enjoy any book these authors are connected to, they are really good story tellers. I can't wait for the next book to come out. -
The Scare Street authors once again deliver a handful of stories that will bring you a horrorific journey!
This is perfection in a book, and these stories will make you wish you were not reading these in the dark, or alone. -
Wow
I so enjoy reading a good scary short story. When you don't have the time to set down and really dig into a good book, a short story is the next best thing. -
A Must Read!
If you enjoy spooky, scary tales with a bit of humor, this book is for you! All of the stories in this volume will definitely leave you wanting more! -
Definitely the strongest of the series thus far
