After finishing 'Maybe This Time', I couldn't wait to find out more about Reid's fun-loving brother, Ryan. I just loved him and his man-whoring ways!
That was, until this book shed new light on all of his promiscuity...because Ryan is MARRIED! Yep, you read that right. Suddenly, he didn't seem so sweet anymore.
Needless to say, I did a complete team swap once that little tidbit of information came to light! From that point forward, I was completely in Taiya's corner. She was so much more civil than he deserved. I would have pummeled this guy!
Taiya left Ryan two years ago after he broke her heart. In the meantime, he has slept his way through most of their town's female population, while she did her best to mend her broken heart in Africa. Now she's back to look over her aging mother and to get that pesky little divorce squared away.
Ryan knows that he screwed up, which I have to give him credit for. At least this guy knows that he is to blame. He is determined to do whatever it takes to win Taiya over again. However, with human reminders of his infidelity everywhere they turn, it won't be easy.
I enjoyed every minute of this book. I love nothing more than a book that rips your heart out, only to have the hero follow it up with plenty of groveling...and grovel he did! Most of this book was spent detailing Ryan's efforts to win Taiya back. Thankfully, she had a backbone and made him work for it. I was in heaven!
Overall, this was a fantastic read if you're into this type of story, like I am. I did think that a few big details of the storyline were kind of weak, like how he broke her heart and why she left him in the first place. However, I still found it to be a highly enjoyable and emotional story. I will definitely be continuing this series in the future to see what the rest of the characters get up to. -
COVER REVEAL... RYAN's STORY!!!! WEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
TO BE RELEASE FEB 2014!!!!!!!
I loved her.
I lost her.
But I’m not willing to let her go.
This time, I’m playing for keeps. -
Nope, can't stand cheaters! Had high hopes for Ryan, but just a cheating pig. The h was a total pushover with zero self worth to let this loser walk all over her.
This story has SO many things wrong with it. The H is no one any woman would want in her life, he cheats on his wife, she takes off for a year. During that year, he screws EVERYTHING he can get his hands on. Wife comes back and all of a sudden he loves her but you know he HAD to bang all those OTHER women to get over her. What a STUPID PLOT LINE. While she stays celibate because she loves HIM & wants HIM only. But no not that degenerate disgusting pig. He should have got an STD and dropped dead. That would have been a GOOD ending.
What is really irritating is that he has the bloody nerve to blaim HER for his banging other women, because she told him to move on in her letter, uh doh, she just caught you kissing and groping her best friend, of course she's gonna be pissed off & upset. What a selfish dickhead.
He did NOTHING to win her back but back she went in just a couple of weeks. This author likes to write weak stupid women who allow their men to get away with screwing around with other women. I keep hoping she will FOR ONCE write a woman worthy of the name, but so far, not EVEN CLOSE. -
Well, you done it AGAIN, Chantal!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the story!!! I thought I couldn't love Ryan more than Reid, but heck, you made him just so SWEET that I LOVED THE CRAP OUTTA HIM!!!! Everyone that knows me, KNOWS that I was waiting oh-so-impatiently to read Ryan's story and you sure didn't disappoint me!!! Well done, Chantal, and now *SQUEEEEEEE* I CAN'T WAIT to read Xander and Sephie's story next in
Time Will Tell!!!! -
This is the problem with showing secondary male characters in all their slutastic glory in previous books of a series. This H was constantly fucking multiple women and sometimes multiple times a day in the last book. His personality was charming and he was a great guy in that book...but there’s only so much I want to know about secondary characters if I’m going to have to see them as an H later on.
Then add that to tropes even my angsty heart hates when they’re presented together as one plot...
-virgin H/h, only with each other until the break up.
-during separation she gets none, he fucks everything that moves, literally.
-the great misunderstanding over cheating...he makes out with her BFF.
-it’s the H’s fault and he doesn’t try to clear it up...like, at all.
-H doesn’t make any effort to go after the h, she just magically reappears in his life.
-and my FAVE...surface explanation and confrontation about their issues.
Did I mention the H/h are married?
As soon as she returns, he finally keeps it in his pants and his plan is “not leaving her alone and grovelling” for her affection...why couldn’t that have been his plan originally? You know, before he fucked half of Perth :/
“And I think we should fight for each other, because we both deserve that. We owe it to each other Tay, to try and fix this,” I say, silently pleading that she wants to try and work on us. I can fight for the both of us, but I want her to want this too.”
You know, cuz now he’s had time to experiment with OW. Cuz that’s why he kissed an OW before they split. They’d never been with anyone else in any way sexually and he was curious.
I think this plot angers me cuz they were MARRIED. And HE fucked up. He obviously didn’t care enough to fight for her then, he just wallowed in selfish pity and by that I mean he shrugged and banged a billion bitches ;) He tells her he fucked around cuz she left and it broke his heart when she said she was done with him...grrr...cuz MARRIAGE isn’t worth fighting for and changing her mind THEN :/
Only positive...better written than the first in the series.
I read angsty shit cuz I love the drama.
Angst. Whore.
Right here.
BUT...it has to have redemption and remorse and strong characters. Everything else is just a bunch of bullshit drama-lama cheating, pushover heroines, and callous heroes I don’t have time for.
DNF @ 60% because their issues are only dealt with in a superficial fashion and then they’re fucking again. SMH. Once again, I have to see the redemption...weak, doormat h’s need not apply -
3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.

UPDATE: Reread, May 2019
======================“So you get to fuck anything with a skirt, but a good man can’t even look my way?” she asks, gritting her teeth.
“You don’t act like my husband, and a piece of paper doesn’t change that.”
Like when you ripped my heart out and stomped on it? That’s a good place to start,”
It seems while I exiled myself in South Africa to lick my wounds, Ryan was busy getting into the panties of any woman he could find.
I swear the man suffers from a bad case of double standards.
I put my hand in my pocket, fingering my wedding ring. It’s on me, where I always keep it. I may not wear it, only because it didn’t feel right when I was with other women. I slide the ring back on my finger.
I see Rachel walk up to me, a girl I once spent the weekend with. Summer always tells me I have a type, and going by what she says, I guess Rachel would be it. She has a curvy figure, long hair and bedroom eyes.
“Why not?” she pouts, pushing away her blonde hair.
She and I were high school sweethearts. We were each other’s firsts, and I was hoping lasts. When I proposed at twenty-one, and she accepted, it was the best day of my life.
“I haven’t had anyone since you returned, Taiya,” he says, sitting down opposite me.
“So what? You want a Husband of the Year Award or something?”
“When I got back home, Sarah was waiting at the door. She said she was there looking for you. I let her in, and then she started hitting on me. I was numb. I wasn’t thinking. She kissed me, and yes, I kissed her back. It was different. Not even good different, just different.”
I’m a little nervous. I know Ryan’s been with a lot of other women since we were last together, and as for me, I haven’t been with anyone. Ryan is still the only man I’ve ever slept with, therefore I haven’t had sex in a long-ass time.
“And she didn’t believe me when I told her I was.” I nod. “Why would they believe you, right? I mean you’ve been every woman’s go-to-cock for the last year.”
“You’ve been married to me this whole time, and it didn’t stop you then, did it. You’re acting like we only just got married.”
Dash laughs. “No thanks. Your sloppy seconds don’t sound very enticing,” he says, brushing off my offer.
Dash chuckles, downing the rest of his drink before answering. “You should call this place Knox’s pussy.”

Another big, fat NO this month.
What the f**k happend?
First book in this series was pretty good but this one has no plot. At all.
Basically the book is about Ryan and Taiya who are married but they live one year separate because Taiya comes back to the city where is Ryan living and wants a divorce. Of course he doesn’t agree, it would be too easy. And of course they make up with each other, flowers, rainbows, unicorns, sunshine.
And that is it, my friends.
No plot.
Taiya is annoying AF.
Ryan is not as lovable as his brother.
Not interesting.
Rather go read something else. -
“Property of Ryan”
> First let me say that I am enjoying this series immensely. I loved how the relationship began to redevelop between Ryan and Tay. This story was not insta-love well in their case insta-re-love. The reader gets to see the hurt and the rebuilding of trust between the two characters. I don’t want to give anything away but it was sweet and enduring the love the two had for each other. The “offense” that caused them to breakup may seem small at first but the author does a good job of letting you know the level of intimacy between the two characters and how in an instant that can be broken over trust and mis-communication. We get a lot of surprises in this book and some new characters added to the mix. I am glad the author revisited old characters and the reader got to see a better glimpse into their stories as well. Just putting it out there I would love to see Zander’s and Dash’s stories. As a reader I was so elated to see Summer and Reid playing a part in this story as well. As the first couple and the glue of the group it was nice catching up with them and Summer’s love for all things rap. Ryan is the typical alpha male: protective, possessive and oh so sexy. The chemistry between Ryan and Tay were off the charts. I loved Ryan’s cave man antics and the fact that Tay did not back down. She is her own character with her own dreams and ambitions and is not afraid to stand up to Ryan on anything. There were a lot of laugh out loud moments in this book: the bar scene, the bachelor party, and any situation were Summer and Ryan are being each other’s “poles.” I cannot wait to see what’s next in line for this series. I enjoyed this book thoroughly it was a perfect blend of romance, growth and development. Readers will get a better glimpse into the lives of Reid & Ryan and a better understanding of their family dynamic. All in all this was a good book and I will be definitely recommending it to my reading groups. -
self note
She catches her Hub kissing her BFF and leaves him.
For 2 years, the H thinks he's on vacation from his wife and fucks everyone in town. (before this separation the h was his one and only everything).
The h is a celibate doormat during this.
The H refuses to divorce but continues to fuck around with ow.
She forgives all when she's back in town.
Avoid. -
He cheats (yeah just a kiss but with this douche I am sure more would have happened I don't care what he says) and she literally runs to another continent. Of course she's the bad guy - he wants his wife back so bad. And she left a note telling him to move on. Of course he misses her bad. How bad you ask? Well not bad enough to follow her to Africa but bad enough to fuck half the town in an effort to forget her. Yeah its one of THOSE books. And guess whose celibate this entire time instead? I loathe this double standard crap. And of course a quarter of the way in, after saying she wouldn't take him back, she does. And the rest of the book is them fucking and him continually running into women he's screwed while she was gone. I think I eye-rolled all the while skimming to the end. I felt like I was reading a book about high school kids it was so juvenile. She tries to act tough but is basically pathetic in the face of her 'hot' husband and he's 'trying so hard' to show her he loves her while dodging all the women he's been with. Worst of all its Boring.

So this amazing author sends me a ARC of this book cause for months i kept going on & in bout Ryan... Am i fangirling so hard right now? Yes sir i am!
But honestly: This book is in no way a poor man's 'Maybe this time'. If anything it was fuking perfect & really different but at the same time it had all the characters we love & some seriously awesome banter!
I respect the hell outta Chantal & her writing but even if i didnt, the fact that i love books bout tattooed sex gods, mma fighters, bikers & alpha fuking male men that make u wanna scream & rip yo panties off all at the same time would make me love this book all the same!
Get of goodreads & start reading!!!!!
(When it comes out) hehe xxxx -
I have been waiting on this book to come out and I wasn't disappointed this book it amazing like the first one. It was nice to hear more about Ryan and about his life and you also got to hear more about Reid and Summer and what they been up to since the first book. Chantal is a amazing author and never let's us down with her books.her books are the kind where you can go back and read them and still love it just as much as the first time. All her books will have you hooked from the first page. I highly recommend you read this book everyone should have some of the Knox brothers in their life's
-
Please, please, please publish this book early. I can't wait till it comes out :)

This book was pretty much just... bleh. I skimmed more than half of it because I was bored. It was a short book but it felt like I read for weeks.
I haven't read the first book of this series because it looked like it could be a standalone and I was right. I love second chance romances so I decided to give this book a try. I am always open on trying any book about second chances. But, boy, did I learn my lesson with this one.
The pace felt unnatural. I did not follow most of the dialogue which caused my confusion and aggravation in some scenes. For one moment, I thought, Uh-oh, trouble's coming. And then at the end of the scene they're kissy and intimate.
So what's good about the book? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
The hero, perhaps? No, I thought he was a dick.
The heroine, maybe? Oh God, don't get me started with her.
The other characters? I don't even remember them at this point. And while I was reading, I didn't know who was related to whom (probably because my heart wasn't really into it but, yeah).
The story? Mediocre and bleh.
The writing? Ah, sadly no. It wasn't descriptive and consistent. There was this scene...The heroine said (1st pov) that the H was there standing looking serious, somber, and dressed to kill. And he did this on his knees. WHAT? He was standing there, on his knees? Yeah, it wasn't edited properly.
So, conclusion? I did not like anything about this book. I know that sounds harsh but it is the truth. If you like second chances, there are others there marginally better than this. If you want one, ask me and I'd give you something worth your money and time.
(I just realized that I probably would've given this 2 stars (and I'm usually not this harsh in reviewing) if I didn't read what I read before this so I don't know if I reviewed this fairly. If you want to try it, go ahead. I hope you like it better than I did.) -
I haven't read book 1 so even though the Hero is protracted as a man-whore there are no intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine in this book.
It starts with her approaching him in a bar about his not signing the divorce papers.
They originally split as the Hero had received bad news and wasn't himself, the heroine's best friend approached him, took her top off and kissed him.
The heroine walked in on them, he was missing her back, his reason was he was numb upset over some family news the heroine wasn't privy to.
The heroine walks away, the Hero thinks he will give her time to calm down and plans to approach her the next day by which time she has left the country.
In the time of separation the heroine of course isn't with anyone else.
The Hero sleeps with half the female population saying that she left him a note saying to move on as she will be.
There are several issues with other women from his past popping up, he never flirts or leads them on.
He says to the heroine they are not whores he was the one who did wrong not them.
The Hero did cheat during the separate but he is remorseful. They were separated at the time but it's still cheating.
What did concern me is his future sister in law doesn't know he is married so although he says he carries his wedding ring in his pocket he isn't viewing himself as married or telling those close to him.
There are several occasions when the author portrays he is truly sorry for his past actions and is hurt when the heroine pages out at times.
The heroine stood her ground for a while, making him work a bit for it but the issue is they hadn't even discussed what had happened as the heroine wont let him explain.
It was a bit of a mess.
Secondary characters are introduced who may have future storylines.
HEA in form of HFN as we will most likely see the couple in future books as we see the couple from the previous book in this one. -
SPOILERS AHEAD. BE WARNED.
Cheater McCheaterson. In book 1, he was introduced as a “lovable” man whore. Guess what?! He’s married. His wife left him after she witnessed a “I was in a bad place, my head was messed up, she kissed me moment”. I call bs. His twin cheated. He cheated. Negative ghost rider. Nope 👎. If it was just the kiss that would be workable. But he’s all distraught because she is the love of his life and he needs her back. Homeboy in book 1, you were having threesomes. Nope nope nope. You didn’t care about her. You didn’t miss her. -
i want to read Ryan's story
but i think it can be about jade and silas too, coz according to the summary, he loved her , then lost her and now they are together again.
I am not sure, but i will be happy if its about Ryan ;-) -
I did not like this at all. Two chapters in I knew it wasn't for me. I couldn't get over him loving her, but still sleeping with other women. It doesn't work like that and that ruined the whole book for me.
-
CHEATER ALERT!
-
I got so bored with this I took to skim reading bits.

**JOSIE'S REVIEW**
I am a huge fan of Chantal Fernando. I have EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HER BOOKS. When I realized there was going to be a book 2 in the Maybe Series, I was so excited. I loved Reid and Summer from Maybe This Time and I was so glad that we were going to see Ryan’s story (the other twin). Who does not believe in second chances, do-overs and a fresh slate? Well Chantal does that with this story. Ryan made a mistake a long time, and the result was losing the love of his life, his wife Taiya. Taiya thought, leaving him was what was best. She did not stay for an explanation, and ran all the way to South Africa. So how does Chantal start this book off? With a bang! NO A LITERAL BANG!! Taiya walks in to the bars Ryan and his twin brother Reid owns.
“You had no right Ryan. I’m not yours anymore. Ryan I’m serious you can’t do this to me.”
“I had every right. You will always be mine. Tell him to leave you alone then, Taiya.”
“So you get to f**k anything with a skirt, but a good man can’t even look my way.”
“Yeah that pretty much sums it up.” (SLAP , yep Taiya slapped Ryan and walked out).
Ryan takes her presence at the bar as a sign, he loves Taiya and has never gotten over her. The relationship does not come easy and it improves gradually. I absolutely loved how we got to see how both characters were hurt by how their relationship ended. Chantal wrote that wonderfully. I actually felt angry, remorse and betrayal in her words. The BIG ISSUE that caused Tay to leave was a misunderstanding that was never addressed.
I was pleased to see that we got to see more of Reid and Summer, Xander and Tag and 2 new characters as well. I will tell you that all the male characters in this series are total alpha males. For me, I loved that we got to see how Summer and Reid helped Ryan and Taiya in this story and got a chance to see how their relationship is growing as well. Ryan, like Reid is the classic alpha male. He is caring, possessive and HOT DAMN THE BOY IS HAWT AS SIN! Let me just say you can feel the sexual attraction between Ryan and Tay. Ryan goes BIG on all his tricks and Tay was a strong and did not just give in to Ryan. She is a strong female character with visions, desires and stands up to Ryan.
“I’m not going to make love to you until you admit you ‘re mine, and I know you aren’t ready to do now.”
“You know you made the right decision. No good is going to come from us f**king each other.”
“This is déjà vu, isn’t it? You turning your back on me, walking away without giving me even one minute to explain. I made a mistake by pushing you away but I never slept with anyone until you left me.”
“Now I know why I remember why I left. You’re a f**king a**hole, and you broke my heart.”
Tay loved Ryan, and now that she is back, can she forget and give Ryan and their relationship another try? Ryan has had many women since they broke up, buy that’s just it, they were not Tay. Can Tay deal with the women he’s been with since they’ve been apart? Do Ryan and Taiya get a second chance, THIS TIME AROUND? OMG Chantal adds drunken girl nights, steamy hot sexy nights, strip club scene, fights (because we know the Knox boys are fighters and ALPHA MALES), and funny come backs. And the next one Time will Tell Book 3 is Xander’s story, I am sure it will be just as HOT!!
“I’m going to have a shower. Be in my bed, naked.”
“Ryan Know, I always knew you were going to be mine. I’ll never love anyone how I love you.”
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. -
4 Love Again Stars
This is the second in the Maybe Series. You really need to read them in order.
Second chances. Aren't they the best? A new beginning. A do-over. A mulligan. The chance to repaint over that awful color. Or hit delete delete delete before you send that ranting email. To your boss. But a Love Do-Over. That's the best.
Ryan messed up. Big time. He let the love of his life get away. She ran from him. But now she's back. And she walked into his bar. The one he owns with his twin brother. It couldn't have been a mistake. His name is right there on the sign.
I watch her walk away from me. My wife. I should be used to it by now, but it still hurts. It always hurts.
Taiya loved Ryan. Until she saw what she saw. Now that she is back in town, can she forgive, forget, get over it. And speaking of getting over it...Ryan has done a lot of getting over, getting under, getting on while she was gone. Can she stand to see all those women that he consoled himself with?
Can Ryan and Taiya give each other a chance at a Love Do-Over? He is willing, but can he stay away from all those other women? In this second book, we get to catch up with the family...Reid and Summer and all the guys. We even get some new family in this one. There are drunk nights, hot nights, strip club nights, and nights in jail. And the next one promises to be just as good. -
I didn’t know what to expect with This time Around, the description on GoodReads was pretty vague, what I did know was that I absolutely loved Reid and Summer’s story in Maybe This Time and just had to read This Time Around!
-
I received and ARC && I loved this!!!! It seriously goes RIGHT INTO the story, so right off the bat it completely engages you. It was super short and it only took me an hour in a half to read. But it was great!!! All the way through!! It was hot, extremely cranky and I HATE miscommunication but I'm so glad that they, being as young as they are, didn't divorce right away. She stayed away for an entire year. You see so many young marriages break apart because of miscommunication and I'm not saying that all marriages (who get married young) divorce because of that, I'm just saying that marriage is serious. It takes two people and this book should be read by any young married couples for sure. It really opened my eyes. But I'm leaving this short because, well, the book was short and I feel like I gave enough away.
PS- CANNOT wait for the next book!! -
Yay! I can't wait for this, ever since that little teaser at the end of the first book I've been dying to read Ryan's story.
I really enjoyed this one. First of all second chance love stories are one of my favorite reads so as soon as I read the teaser I knew this would be right up my ally.
Ryan Ryan Ryan how could you not love him? Alpha male. Check! Hotness? Check! Swoon worthy? Check! Family man. Check! Okay seriously I could go on but why ruin it right! And Taiya the walls are definitely up and with good reason but her current living situation puts her in close quarters with Ryan and from there things get interesting. Together these two are explosive and I enjoyed every minute of it. Amazing sequel!
Sad to see their story come to an end but I'm looking forward to Xander's book. -
It was ok. I like Ryan but I didn't understand the whole situation really. This was the women he loved. The one! Then why didn't he chase after her? Then sleeping with everyone to get over her? The story just rang a bit hollow.
-
Absolutely loved this book! ❤️❤️Definitely add it to your wish list. It wasn't your typical kind of story line, I loved that all the character came back and had recurring roles in this book too! You cant go wrong with Alpha Ryan Knox! Can't wait for Xander! Love my men covered in tattoos
