But he wasn’t prepared for the silver clad goddess that caught his vision as she snuck down the servants’ hallway. Nor was he prepared for her resistance. In a room full of beautiful women, his interest was captured by a beauty that wanted nothing to do with him. Except that she caught on fire when he touched her and her soft, sensuous body inflamed him with need.
What was a man to do? Accept the challenge of convincing the lovely Shanelle to fall in love with him. Over a weekend of passionate kisses and stolen passion, Shanelle and Malik discovered that protecting the kingdom could be quite exhilarating.
A very short novella by Elizabeth Lennox! Enjoy!
The Sheik's Dangerous Lover Reviews
-
Note to self: Stop downloading freebies, woman! When will you learn that the "cost" isn't worth it?

"The Sheik's Dangerous Lover" is the story of Shanelle and Malik.
A very sweet short story with a lovely heroine who tries to escape a Sheikh's ball, only to end up in his arms instead. His kisses enchant her, lovemaking seduces her and determination binds her to him. Ends in a nice confession of love.

This was a short and sweet little romance. The last thing Shanelle wanted to do was go to a ball, and meet the shriek. She couldn’t get out of it, so she attended with her parents. Before the family was to be introduced, she excused herself and headed to the bathroom. She wished she could stay the night hiding away in there, but knew she couldn’t. She had no interest in meeting a man that needed to get married very soon. She decided to sneak into the ball a different way, so she wouldn’t have to be introduced. She got caught by the very man she was trying so hard to avoid. She was mad at him that he was not where he was supposed to be. Every other lady was throwing themselves at him. He liked Shanelle because she wanted nothing to do with him. Well her mind didn’t, but her body heated up with each touch they shared. They had some amazing chemistry together. This story may have been short, but it was a steamy little romance. I really enjoyed it. I’m going to give it 3 stars just because of its short length.

This book was a freebie on Amazon. The book cover plus the title caught my eye so I decided to give it a shot.
I shouldn't have. Even though the story was semi sweet, there was no danger in it. I was expecting some due to the title and blurb but it was all lies. There was nothing. I would have taken even one small page of some semi danger.
Really no part in the story in which the characters fell in love with each other (in my eyes)even though they both proclaim it at the end. Yes, the sexual chemistry is there (somewhat) and attraction but to fall in love with someone in what....2 days? Nah.
This wasn't my cup of tea but hey it could be yours.
Until next time....
Happy Reading :) -
A fun short story but it was very similar with another book from this author,
The Sheik's Defiant Fiancée
It was still good to read though because i could compare the personalities of the two female protagonists in these two books as i was reading "The Shiek's Dangerous Lover". -
A very short and sweet story. : )

There was nothing really special about this story. I get this was a short story but it moved a little too quickly for my liking. It's like Shanelle arrives at the palace with no clue why she's there, even though there are tons of other females with her. Her and Malik meet and she finds out what's going on. They argue, have sex....and in the end get married. The end.
Questions/Comments:
What year was this suppose to be taking place in?
When Shanelle is sneaking around, she's trying to get away but ends up heading towards the ballroom right? Malik then sees her she's "sneaking into the ballroom." Malik then remembers his aide is following him and wonders if the aide will be questioning why "they weren't heading towards the ballroom." Huh?
Is it possible to be wearing a poofy dress and have an attractive rear end?
Shanelle ends up near a corner and feels someone behind one. "Standing up straight, she tried to use her peripheral vision to figure out what had changed. To the left of her, she saw a...man in a tuxedo. To the right"...Malik. How was she seeing all that in her peripheral?
Maybe I'm a weirdo but I have to ask. How do a female's nipples getting hard mean she's attracted to a guy? I don't get it. "...he knew she was as affected by their nearness as he was."
"It is rare for two people to be this attracted to each other..." Um, I'm pretty sure that would just be lust, not love.
They're kissing. At first Malik is holding Shanelle, then he sets her down. But then, "...trying to get closer, he LIFTED her back up into his arms." BUT THEN: Shanelle mentions her knees getting weak from the kiss. If Malik is holding her, she wouldn't be having that problem. "And all of that was before he lifted her into his arms..." So was Malik just constantly picking her up, then putting her back down?
Oh while they're kissing (above)- "Shanelle thought that the kiss earlier in the night had been a fluke..." Wasn't the kiss from the previous day/night?
The mention of her trying to sneak away to the kitchen to 'bake cookies'...IDK, just sounded weird. I mean, she's a quest in Malik's palace? and wouldn't there be tons of random people everywhere and she thought she could just go into the kitchen and start baking? -

Of course you have a few eye rolling moments, but it was cute as well. This is a free read, and I appreciate it. I felt as though I was reading this short story on super fast forward, a novel shrink into a novella. I enjoyed Malik and Shanelle's connection and how they met. Malik needs a wife and heir a.s.a.p. Shanelle's wants to be a lawyer and the last place she wants to be is in Malik's palace. Their connection was a lot of things roll into one. The messed up part about that is that you don't get to enjoy it because it moves a long so fast. I do enjoy Sheik romances, their men are always so sexy, demanding mix with a little cockiness.
Overall, very super fast quick read, eye rolling moments, cute moments and hey, it's free can't really complain.

This was a cute one, but started off strangely and had a lot of weird "continuity/plot errors". What kind of society is this with arranged marriages and (educated!!!) women being brought to a sheik for him to pick out a wife... then him living with 10 of them until he decides on one?! Ummm, ew ... "The Bachelor" much?
If the setting was in the past or in the Arabic world or if the heroine wasn't a LAWYER herself - I would understand this... but otherwise - it was a bit nonsensical...
Also, the heroine acts out of place all the time, like when she goes to the palace's kitchen to bake cookies!? WTF?! You are a GUEST in a PALACE ! You will just go into a palatial kitchen and what - shoo all the cooks away - and start baking like a mofo!? Cuz that isn't weird at all ...
Otherwise, the romance was cute and the H/h had good chemistry. But the mystery part of the story didn't really go anywhere , since we don't find out who is trying to kill him ... -
Just like in the fairy tale, a lavish ball was being held to find Sheik Malik a bride. The urgency was due to several assassination attempts and Malik had to marry quickly and produce an heir. The stability of his country depended on constancy and conservative leadership. He couldn’t allow his enemies to win. But he wasn’t prepared for the silver clad goddess that caught his vision as she snuck down the servants’ hallway. Nor was he prepared for her resistance. Except that she caught on fire when he touched her and her soft, sensuous body inflamed him with need. Over a weekend of passionate kisses and stolen passion, Shanelle and Malik discovered that protecting the kingdom could be quite exhilarating. Truly a riveting book. Couldn't put it down. The kind that you could read over and over..... 5 stars.

Stars: 4
Overall: I wish that book would've lasted longer!!!! Even though i thought i was WAY TO FAST PACED, I really did enjoy the story and the effort that Malik took into wooing Shanelle into saying yes. This book also had me laughing quite a bit because of the way that Malik and Shanelle interacted with each other. I thought it was the cutest thing when he was where ever she when, when she was trying to get "alone time". My only "problem" with the book, was towards the end when she was getting upset that there was women still at the castle. All i kept thinking was that she asked him to keep them there. So other than that and wishing the story was longer, I really enjoyed this book.

I enjoyed it. Was a quick read.
Do you know how things never go as planned? Well when she wanted to avoid the Sheik and the attension of being annouced with her parents the opposite happens. Yes, she is caught by none other than the Shiek himeself when she is sneaking down the hallway.
Shiek's intrested is peaked, shes pretty, argues with him and sets his blood to heated proportions. Now all he has to do is convince her into his arms, bed and life as his wife. -
Quick easy read. A little choppy but altogether enjoyable. This is a Cinderellaesque read and you can guess how it ends. Does she needs to find a wife to procreate with. Cinderella type woman comes to ball he has thrown to find his possible spouse. He sees her and is immediately drawn to her. You know the rest of the story.

2,5⭐
-
Cortito pero bueno... Bastante simple, pero entretenido

short and sweet :)

I LUVD LUVD dis bk Elizabeth Lennox. & bcuz of hw much I luvd dis bk, I'm so hookd. I feel like I can't stop reading her bks. TOTALLY OBSESSED. I really wish I can get a hold off the rest of the series. 😍😊

There are books where some things are predictable ans then there's this book, everything was painfully predictable and because it's barely 70 page long it ended under an hour.
The cover is enticing but there's no much in this book. -
Must read
This book is about a sheik who must find someone to marry and produce an heir and a girl who doesn’t want anything to do with him and she tries to avoid him at all cost but everything she does seems to backfire and she encounters the Sheik....what will they do.... -

Good
This was short and sweet, would have preferred more of the story rather than the last 20 odd percent of the book being a teaser for another book.
