It was supposed to be yet another hike along a nature trail.
Tired of the confines of her apartment after a long day at work, Alice heads out for a walk. But instead of the usual birds and squirrels, this time she comes across Wendy Darling, a traveler from another world. And when she returns home, Alice asks to be taken along.
She finds herself in a realm where Beauty has been cursed with ugliness for her vanity; where the "charming" Prince keeps a harem; where Little Red Riding Hood is a heartless assassin; where the mermaids will flirt and sing beautiful songs and then drag you to the bottom of Captain Hook's lagoon and hold you there.
Welcome to Faerietale.

This was a fantastic take on classic fairytales! All of the original tales were woven together so flawlessly (with a few extra twists added in for good measure). For instance, I loved that the Prince ended up with two true loves and they all lived happily ever after in a polyamorous relationship. I did find it odd that even though Alice was the main character she didn't seem to be in the book that much. I know it can be hard to juggle so many characters, though. Speaking of, it would have been nice to have some sort of flow chart that I could have flipped back to. One that links all of the characters and who they're related to, just because there were so many of them. Those are just nitpicks on my end, though. The book is a great read and I highly recommend it!
