Piper has a secret. Her father has been missing for three days, and her vivid nightmares reveal that he's in terrible danger. Now her boyfriend doesn't recognize her, and when a freak storm and strange creatures attack during a school field trip, she, Jason, and Leo are whisked away to someplace called Camp Half-Blood. What is going on?
Leo has a way with tools. His new cabin at Camp Half-Blood is filled with them. Seriously, the place beats Wilderness School hands down, with its weapons training, monsters, and fine-looking girls. What's troubling is the curse everyone keeps talking about, and that a camper's gone missing. Weirdest of all, his bunkmates insist they are all--including Leo--related to a god.

Decent enough.

I'm just hoping Leo Valdez looks acceptable. -
Not as good as the novel but I still enjoyed reading this!

This was an very good adaptation and a very good graphic novel. I didn't know what to expect because I was so disappointed with the Lightening Thief graphic novel, and the second book was better but not great. But this was a great story and a lot of fun. The story was easy to follow, had a lot of exciting moments, had humor and heart the way Riordan's books are supposed to and was just what it should have been. And it's really substantive, it's a thick book that takes a while to read, there's a lot of story there. I'm sure purists would quibble about what was left out, but it felt like a very good adaptation that hit the high notes of the book, from what I remember. And it felt like people who haven't read the book would be able to make sense of it, which was not a feeling that I got at all from the first two Lightening Thief graphic novels. The art was serviceable, not great but it got the job done. It's a shame he can't draw pretty woman though. Annabeth was just unattractive, the goddess of love and beauty herself looked like a middle-aged soccer mom, and poor Piper was often quite odd looking, even when she had her mother's (unwanted) blessing. There were a lot of unattractive or bland faces, really. By unattractive I mean weirdly scrunched or shaded or or shaped in ways that seemed inconsistent with the character, not a judgement about their prettiness. But despite being occasionally distracting, overall the art was fine. It was a very enjoyable book that I would recommend for fans and for newbies alike.

Me gustó ver todo como el autor lo imagino y no como yo lo hice porque bueno, cuando uno lee puede tener diferentes puntos de vista. De todos modos no fue la gran cosa leerlo porque ya había leído el libro.
3/5⭐️
Al libro le di 4.1/5⭐️ -
First of all, the art is about as far from my style as it's possible to get. None of the characters look right, but I guess that's just a matter of opinion. Second, almost all the humor from Rick Riordan is cut out. I understand it's hard to include everything in a graphic novel, but still, it wouldn't be that hard to add some of the jokes and light-hearted banter so the story doesn't just drag on and on. And drag on and on it did. If you liked The Lost Hero, I would not recommend reading this book. If you didn't like The Lost Hero, I would still not recommend this book. And if you've never even heard of The Lost Hero , I would, again, not recommend reading this book. :)

The Lost Hero: A Graphic Novel is a wonderful story by Rick Riordan. The story its self is in
multiple formats, so if you would like to read it you can get the chapter book, but it you like graphic novels then this book specifically is just for you. The adaption was done by Robert Venditi, the art was done by Nate Powel, and the color was done by Orpheus Collar. They did a spectacular job at adapting the chapter book to the graphic novel. They kept majority of the conversations and let the
art speak for the detailed descriptions.
One of the pages in the graphic novel is when Annabeth is flying Jason, Leo, and Piper back
to Camp Half-Blood and you get a wonderful layout of the camp from above. There is no need to
go on for a few pages describing the camp when you can see the lay out so clearly. Any of the half
or full page spreads were my favorite because the art was able to show the reader so much detail. It
is nice to be able to read the book and imagine the scenes yourself, but it is also really nice to soak in all the detail that a picture can give to the reader and add to the understanding of the scene.
Graphic novels are fast passed and you can get through the story quick! The drawings are
well done and you are able to see the characters and understand them very well. This graphic novel
compares well to the book that it is based off of, and allows the reader of the graphic novel to
understand everything that the reader of the book knows about. So if you really enjoy graphic novels
and want to learn more about the Percy Jackson Series then pick up this book! -
Perfect for fans of Percy Jackson. The artist captured everything perfectly and I wish the other books were made into graphic novels so I could binge all of them. This is one of the first graphic novels I have read and it was so perfect I want to read more graphic novels. So much quicker than reading the books, but gave you a similar experience. Totally going to get my hands on The Lightning Theif to see Percy.
The art was stunning and the storyline was 100% accurate, so 100 recommend from me. -
Ugh
-
Some stuff was missing but considering the original book is huge i think they summed it up pretty well. As for the art, it was true to the way i pictured the characters in my head
-
I haven't read TLH in years. Im so happy to refresh my memory but in graphic form!

First time I read a graphic novel! it was a unique experience! I can't wait to read the next one. I wish it would have been longer but anyway It was good. -
I loved this graphic novel. I've seen the Percy Jackson movies, but I haven't actually read any of Rick Riordan's books. 😬🤷🏻 but it's okay because I was able to keep up with who the characters were and what was going on in the plot. One thing that I really found interesting is the addition if the Roman gods with the Greek gods.
Now I'm going to need to borrow book 2 of this series from my library bc that ending had me shook, and I need to know what happens next! -
I really, really, dislike the artwork. Not my taste at all.
But here I am, totally bias, I love the story, riordanverse will always have a spot in my heart.
Plus, it was a swift reminder (and before reading the second book. -
Loved the visuals, especially the part with Hera at the end. It made it so much easier to understand.
*Notes in Updates -
This book is about a boy named Jason. Jason wakes up on a bus not knowing anything, not even his girlfriend or best friend, but worse, he doesn't remember who he is. He and his girlfriend, Piper, and his best friend Leo soon find out that they are demigods, or a half blood. This means that one of their parents is a greek god or goddess. Soon they find out that Piper's mom is Aphrodite the goddess of love and beauty, Leo's dad is Hephaestus the god of blacksmiths, and Jason's dad is Zeus king of the gods. Soon they realize that Hera, Zeus's goddess wife, has been captured, and the three of them have been chosen by Hera herself to find and free her. They go through many obstacles, like when they met Medea, a evil woman who is immortal and have to escape two dragons and defeat Medea herself. They also catch some storm spirits, and bring them to the weather man who tells the gods what the weather will be like. Finally when they find Hera, it is almost too late, a giant born from Gaea, who was born to destroy Zeus is waking and they must rescue Hera before it is all over. Finally Piper and Leo release a Hera from her cage while Jason is keeping the giant busy, and through a burst of rage, Hera destroys the giant and buys them some time, for a monster of that sort can only be killed by a god or goddess and a half blood. The three still know that they will be up for a fight, but right now they need to find Percy Jackson, who has been sent to the Roman god camp, where Jason is supposed to be, and does not know who he is either, just like Jason. This book was really good to read and I really liked it. I think it relates to a Land of Stories book which is called The Grimm warning.

I knew this happen again about children of gods and look like not past just three days ago miss person and those people half-people still quest or something but that was most dangerous quest and brave just do it for GOD.
-
This was boring and choppy. The scenes didn't flow. If I hadn't read the actual book I would have had no idea what was going on. Two stars for the nice art.
-
It was good it was a better adaptation than the Lighting Thief.
-
I bought this one purely because I am a Percy Jackson fan. While I love, LOVE the original series, this rendition didn't do much justice to Rick Riordan's flawless writing.
-
Reread the lost hero, just did this so it will count as my reading challenge
-
I really enjoyed this! I didnt particularly like the art style but I did like the dialogue and scenes. It was nice revisiting the world.

This was Very Good Graphic Novel Adaptation of the 1st Installments of The Heroes of Olympus, Return from Robert Vendittit (Percy Jackson GN Series) And Orpheus Collar (The Kane Chronicles GN Series) with the New Artist Nate Powell to Set the Same Story From The Source Material. It was Not Great, But Really Good on the Comic-Style Screen And Amazing Refreshing Color. This was Better Than the Lightning Thief with the Lack of Art and Color, But the Next Installment was Better. The 190 pages are Very much To Be Seen From Pages To the Illustration Screen.
This release same day when The Blood of Olympus Novel, And After the First-Third Percy Jackson Graphic Novel Releases And First-Second Kane Chronicles Graphic Novel Releases. Much like Skipping To Complete the Series And Start the New Series From The Novels by the Same Author, But Later KC GN Complete by Collar And Couples Years Later, PJ GN Finally Complete by Venditti.
My Opinion of This was Good.
-The Story is Adventure about 3 New Demigods Chosen by Hera And According To Prophecy of Seven, to rescue the Queen of the Olympian in 4 Days of Winter Solstice Before the Earth Mother awaken, must Face the mysterious odd during the Impossible Quest. It did follow the source material, but suddenly might been a little skip or rush on almost every moment scenes that I read the book. Some Scene Moments were Absent including Horse-Shaped Venti Tempest, Clovis, Flying Chariot is on Fire, Doesn’t Show Bunker 9 until the End, And King Midas And Lityerses in Nebraska. You know, that seem Miss the Mark or Error on every Scenes, But the Story are 90% Match and Good to Follow by Comic Book Writer Venditti.
-Illustration are Sketchy Good by Drawer Nate Powell. What I Look at the Pages had a More Detail Than 1st-3rd Percy Jackson GN with the Spectacular Color by Orpheus Collar. However, the Background on the Setting including Nature are Blurry or Unfinished, Just almost Empty. This Version of the Novel is Much Like the Cartoonish with the Visual Color And Emotion is Absolutely Well Done of the 1st Installment of the Second Series that Much Better Than The Lightning Thief’s Art And Color by Attila Futaki And Jose Villarrubia, Which is Very Lacking and Disgraceful. The Combination of Powell And Collar May Not Get To Be Better, But It was Very Grateful Good That Are Spectacular Work of Art for Humor, Heart, And Action on This.
-Characters Appears on Powell/Collar’s Version Artwork From Riordan’s Original. To Be Honest, This is Not what Pictured What Character’s Looks And They Much Alike, But they are Pretty Good To Me. Jason is Blonde and Caucasian, Leo is Mexican-American, And Piper is Cherokee. And There is Annabeth (Long Blond Hair instead a Ponytail), Chiron (White Stallion, Not Brown), Rachel (Pretty Good), Coach Hedge (Not Bad), Thalia (Her Skin is Light, Not Dark) And Others.
-The Layout is really Good Feels Like a Movie Screen Styles focus on Action Sequences, Mystery Clues, Coming of Ages Elements, And Traveling Journey. Novel had 553 pages and GN had 192 pages. This Length And Scale Are Better Than the PJ Graphic Novel Series. They put the Same Story as they Can on Writing on Screen And Artwork as Well to follow the Source Material But To Cut Few Scenes. You Know, Not Triggering And Whole But Fun-Rides.
-The Cover of Jason carry a Spear, Leo had a Hammer on his hand, and Piper hold a Dagger with Festus Breathes Fire. It was Spectacular To introduces a New Hero with Different Problems That Exactly Like the John Rocco’s Art Book Cover. Well Done! Although I Criticizes Festus Body Shape particularly His Head Are Small instead a Mild Large.
I praised the Adapt Story, Illustration, Color, And Much Better Than Previous GN Series, Layout, But Criticism of Background Art, Some Scenes Absent, And Look Sketchy. Well In My Opinion, It was Good Comic Art Style Adaptation of Greek-Roman Mix Modern Time Children’s Adventure of 3 Protagonists. -
I love this SOOOOO MUCH. I first read the translated version of The Lost Hero years ago, it was around 2014, I think. I've been wanting to read the original English version but haven’t had the time (and am always tempted to read new releases) so I think I’d read this graphic novel instead. Now I regret why I didn't read it sooner.
Clearly the storyline is compressed but it’s not a problem for me because I’ve read the full length novel. Along the way I noticed some things that should be here but they’re not. This book gave me a pleasant experience to visualize the story better, to see the giants, monsters, camp area, and gods with their different appearances. More importantly, when I first read The Lost Hero I remember being obsessed with Percy and desperate to see him again but he’s not in this book and I didn’t really care about the ones who got POV’s in here. Now that I’ve read ALL Uncle Rick’s books and know what became of them, I wouldn’t take things for granted anymore and now I see that they’re pretty cool from the beginning.
I’ll read
The Son of Neptune: The Graphic Novel immediately to meet my dear Percy. I hope Rick, Robert, Nate, and of course the publisher won’t abandon the rest so all of them will get the graphic novels they deserved.
