Phillips does a thorough and clear job of presenting the current state of books. Taking into consideration topics including authorship, copyright, publishing, ebooks, and globalization, he examines how migrations toward digital production, distribution, and consumption of books impact each. Though there were moments when I would have appreciated hearing more of his own opinion (which was succinctly given in the book's concluding chapter), I overall appreciated the balance of voices and opinions he brought together to reflect on the changing status of the book.
