In the Temple of my God Reviews

I finished this and popped over to goodreads to leave a review, only to see that it has a 3 star average. And I thought to myself "that doesn't seem right. I thought it was fairly average, but surely other people thought it was better."
And then I scrolled through the reviews, since there weren't many of them, and saw that the overall rating was dragged down because of a troll. And IDK man, the thought of people shying away from the story simply because of a troll doesn't sit right with me. 3 stars, rounded up to 4 because fuck that guy.
A steamy, quick read about a woman who is desperate for a baby to pass off as her dead husband's. She's propositioned by a god who promises her a good time.
If it had been longer, I probably would have given it five. -
A weird breeding kink, but I'm into it anyway. The actual scenes do not disappoint. Sofie's world building is interesting, and I want to see more from her about pretty much anything!

The newest story from Granger does not disappoint.
Skye's husband has died, and she somehow thinks that going to the temple will somehow change her circumstances. There, she meets a strange person that she thinks is the god of the temple, Topaz. He suggests to her that she should sleep with him, he will impregnate her, and the baby will look like her dead husband. She agrees to this.
I won't spoil the ending for you, but it is happy. And Skye does meet up with Topaz later, where they agree to have more children together.
I think that it would be fun if the author could explore the demigod she created, to take him on a heroic quest. It would also be fun to explore the world she created, not quite Greek but Greek-coded. -
It verged on the edge of being good. But it was the weird pregnancy thing that pushed it off that edge for me. I would have given it less stars, but I enjoyed the actual act, as well as the fun play with the Gods.

Beautifully written and imaginative, on top of Granger's usual steaminess. I need more!

Skye is a widow, who would have nothing if she was forced out onto the streets. She gets an idea in her head to go to the temple to pray for divine intervention. In the temple, she meets a mysterious man who can shape-shift into the likeness of her dead husband. He calls himself Topaz, and Skye thinks that he's the god of the temple. Topaz promises to impregnate her, although Skye is rather reluctant. She eventually agrees to let him get her off with his mouth, and when he gives her such pleasure, she finds that she can't say no to the idea of him fathering her baby.
However, as the child grows inside of her, she begins to be filled with doubts. Although her in-laws took her in, eager for the chance to have some measure of their son back, she's worried that the child will come out not looking too much like her dead husband. She had nothing to worry about.
17 pages, Amazon ebook. 18+ for sexual content.
Book also includes heavy themes of breeding. Judging by some of the reviews, that apparently warrants a warning. -
I know a lot of people said that they didn't like the breeder aspect of it. But truthfully, if you're not into it, then that's fine. But I love it. Also wish that there had been more. Granger has a way of breathing life into her works such a short mount of time. -
This Satanic Devil Worshiper will burn in hell! Repent! Repent and your soul might still be saved!
