Kylooe, Tome 3 Reviews
-
Last part of the series after
Kylooe #1 and
Kylooe #2 (my reviews
here and
there).
In terms of art, we're staying in the line of the second volume. So while the dream-like colours of the first volume were more impressive and more eye-catching, it's been abandoned for the other two volumes. It's slightly disappointing, but since both volumes 2 and 3 still are beautiful as they are, I guess it's fine?
In terms of story, I can't pick a favourite between the first volume and this one, but one thing's for sure, both are much more captivating than volume two. And once again, we're hitting on something completely different from the two first volumes. What I liked about the first one was how relatable it could be, but this one is particularly strong because of the questions it can raise.
So basically, to sum up the series: volume one is a definite favourite with truly interesting artwork, volume two is forgettable but pretty, and volume three is a must-read story. -
The book asks,"What if the government were to restrict your emotions / enforce your laughter?" Quite an interesting concept to ponder about (especially if you relate it to the various propaganda we see in our daily lives.) The book focuses on three different characters who met first in the prison then again after various decision made. To me, it's about how little things create a momentum for changes and hopes to occur.
I'd call this a bittersweet story, although the ending was .
It's better for you to read it yourself and judge for your own.
Oh, the art is marvelous, really. Little Thunder just draws woman so well.
