Borrowed it from the library and loved it so much I had to get a copy to keep. Have made four or five dishes from it so far and all have been really good. Most recipes are not long on ingredients and are good weeknight choices. Love it.

Most of these recipes are kind of short, which is good. Most recipes only get one half of a page, so it cuts down on the ingredient list and directions. The steps seem relatively straight forward and the few pictures that are provided (about 1 picture to every 4 recipes or so) look bright and colorful and delicious. For instance, the Smoky Sea Scallops with Avocado-Corn Salsa looks easy and tempting enough that even I think I could make that.
But what I don't like is the organization. I'm not fond of flipping to page 171 for the July 28 page to find the recipe for Grilled Lamb Chops with Fresh Peach Salsa. However, there is a 2 part index in the back listing recipes first by ingredient, then by food type, i.e. burgers, salads, vegetarian, etc. And a further reason why I did not give this book 4 stars is because there were just too many recipes featuring beans for me. And too many salads. And too many bean salads. I know they're healthy, but.... they're beans........ a little goes a long way...... -
garlicky shrimp and chard ftw! this is great because it offers a recipe a day, and takes seasonal ingredients in to account. made a few recipes in a week. my only change would be to craft meals each week that use some of the same ingredients or include a shopping list for each week to keep up with the recipes and not have to buy different items to craft each meal. great idea and surprising for a department store cookbook!
