From Amazon top ten bestselling author Samantha Whiskey comes the billionaire, forbidden office romance you won't want to miss!

I wear several owner of the NFL’s Raleigh Raptors, heir to the Rutherford empire, and certified adrenaline junkie.

One label I’ll never wear?

Reckless.

I may love skydiving and touring live volcanoes, but risking my life is easy.
My heart? That’s another thing entirely.

For years I’ve kept my best friend and personal assistant Brynn Allen in the strictly platonic section of my wild life, but she’s owned me since high school.
She’s smart, funny, logical, brilliant, and beyond gorgeous. To put it plainly, she’s perfection wrapped in a tempting little package.

But I’ll never risk what I can’t afford to lose.
And losing Brynn would ruin me.

After a bet in our poker game has me handing over my newly acquired marketing firm for Brynn to save, my once always-by-my-side assistant has her hands more than full. The last thing she needs is my resolve slipping when it comes to keeping a safe distance from her.

But one night, we cross that line I’ve held for years, and it’s better than any fantasy.
We’re fire, electric, combustible.
And now there’s no going back.

To keep her, I’ll have to do the one thing I’ve never done before—be reckless with my heart and hope I don’t break us in the end.

I was so excited to read this book after getting a preview of this couple in the first book. It was just too rushed and a little too perfect. I didn’t connect with the characters and it could have been so much more. It was like ok we all know the formula for this type of romance. Let’s plug in some names and call it a day.

  • Auntee

An easy, best friends to lovers read.
I would've preferred a little more 'story' to this story though.

Brynn and Weston have been best friends since high school but despite their love for each other, both have been reluctant to possibly lose their friendship by taking it to the next level. They'd be lost without each other, and Weston in particular doesn't want to risk it.

Brynn is Weston's business assistant, his right arm, until he hands over his struggling marketing firm for her to run on her own. Eventually these two succumb to the chemistry between them, and they are fire! They have lots and lots of sex, but each are afraid to declare their true feelings. Is this just lust or is this real? Does he feel about me the way I feel about him? Does she feel about me the way I feel about her? They are perfect together, so what are they waiting for, I asked?

Finally, A little bit of drama near the end of the story (involving an ex ) and a miscommunication surrounding an ad campaign for the marketing firm wakes them both up, and I thought 'finally', they're talking!

Not a whole lot going on in this story but the characters were likable enough and there was plenty of heat. What I am looking forward to is the possible pairing of Weston's snarly friend Gareth with the daughter (Serenity) of their poker playing nemesis. Seems like that story could have a lot of drama...hopefully that story is up next.

    4 stars

Super hot, best friends to lovers romance and the second book in the billionaires series from Ms whiskey.
I’ve enjoyed getting glimpses of all these guys at their monthly poker games and here we get to know Weston and Brynn.
Weston’s life would not run half as smoothly as it does without Brynn by his side. Having had a purely platonic friendship for ten years these two are perfect for each other…. But what happens when they cross that line…?
    Scorching pages, that’s what happens!!!

This is a fun read with a bit of angst towards the end. I love these guys and their monthly bets….how the other half live!! I hope the favour chip gets cashed in in the next story…🤔

I have been waiting for this story for years and loved a majority of it.

I had to take off one star because honestly, there were so many typos in the story. It got distracting.

Additionally, I took off another star because the proposal seemed really rushed. She had asked for space in one chapter, saying she needed to learn who she was without him. Then five pages later she’s accepting a wedding proposal. It seemed like a quick way to bring them back together but didn’t really fit the story line. I love Samantha’s books and was really expecting to like this one way more.

I am still looking forward to the rest of this series!

Best Friends and co-workers Brynn and Weston had been inseparable since their high school days, forging a deep bond as best friends. Their connection was undeniable, but the fear of jeopardizing their cherished friendship had kept them from exploring their true feelings for each other. They cherished their relationship too much to risk losing it, and Weston, in particular, was reluctant to take that leap. (GAWD! He was kind of frustrating!)

The quality of the writing was fine. I just don't think you can sell me on a friends to lovers romance. The chemistry was so muted. I wanted so much more. The book doesn't "heat up" and give good story until the last 1/3 of the book. I don't know if it was the pacing or the trope but this book just fell so flat for me.

While the story may have lacked depth, I found the characters likable enough, and their passion radiated off the pages. However, what truly excited me was the potential for the next story—a tantalizing prospect of Weston's enigmatic friend Gareth entangled with Serenity, the daughter of their poker-playing nemesis. The mere thought of the drama that awaited in their story left me eagerly anticipating what lay ahead.

This one is a difficult one to like. It's a best friend novel / boss romance. The main problem is that as Weston's assistant, Brynn hasn't just had to deal with Weston's business life and schedule but his personal one as well. He breaks up with his friend with benefits? It's then Brynn's task to throw her out. I really don't like that. He didn't parade his past exploits in front of her but she still got to see all of them, I would say.

When it comes to their relationship, I did like it. Her past wasn't mentioned in great detail but she was with guys before him.

What I didn't like was that we don't get to know their family. Sure their friends play a huge part in their life but their moms do too. And they are only in one scene and we never find out why Weston isn't fond of his father. Yes, Brynn is his best friend so she probably knows all about that but the readers don't so why not clue us in? It was too vague in my opinion.

Also, there were too many intimate scenes and not enough bonding scenes, tbh. Sure they are besties but come on... talk about something 😅

Okay so I haven't read a lot of Samantha Whiskey. This is the second book, I just read Asher a few days ago. I really liked Asher, I feel like Weston was a little bit of a let down comparatively.
First of all, this is just me, but I'm not a fan of the friends to lovers trope in general. It always seems like it lacks tension. Like okay, they already know they love each other, they're best friends...where's the sizzle? So right away I'm like, eh.
Then, the typos. Guuuurl!! 👏👏 No!!
Theeeeen, the rushed grand gesture with minimal groveling?!?! Come on now, sis 😐 smh.
An engagement at someone else's wedding is not romantic in the slightest. They're best friends! They have a lifetime of memories and significant little places and times together and you're gonna propose at someone else's reception?? Boy, bye 👋
    Where's the ✨effort✨??
No repercussions for Lena? Not even Brynn ripping her a new one, or ruining her in some way 😂 idk maaan, that seemed like a little bit of a missed opportunity for Brynn to show her back bone a little...
Definitely seemed like there was a deadline that needed to be met 🤷‍♀️
BUT- all of that being said I am gonna go back and read the Carolina Reapers series or at least give it a shot and I will def read the next Billionaire's Game too bc now I'm iNvEsTeD. If it's not Gareth and Serenity, then Ms. Whiskey has some explaining to do 🧐

In the last book we saw hints of this one and it seemed like the whole poker club knew that Weston was into Brynn, but Weston. I'm glad that things didn't just jump into them as a couple, but that they each made decision along the way that proved they wanted the relationship. I hated how Weston almost blew it towards the end, glad that he listened to the poker club and did what needed to be done so that he could have it all.

Saking b aja aku bahkan nggak semangat mau nulis review, padahal ini trope kesukaanku dan dari buku-buku Mbak Whiskey sebelumnya tuh aku udah nge-ship para karakternya 😭 kayaknya Mbak Whiskey burn out deh, tulisannya flat banget sekarang ini.

  • Jordan Shemonski

4.5 ⭐️ ughh i liked this book so much!!! their friendship was so great and their relationship was even better hehe!!

only thing i didn’t love was the engagement at their friends (hendrix) wedding but we digress!! great book can’t wait to read ethan’s!!

  • Laurie V

Cringe. How did the woman that wrote The Carolina Reapers series write this book?

  • Emily Johnston (Booked.Up.With.Emily)

This pains me, but I just didn't love this book. It was too quick and not enough backstory. I just wanted more from their story and their past.

  • Rose Ewins

crazily this wasn’t very good, also it was so short that everything was smushed. like all the tropes were there

  • Olivia Sekelsky

I’ve been waiting for this one for awhile and I have to say I’m a little disappointed. They had been waiting so long to get together and when they finally did I wondered why now. There wasn’t a big event that caused them to get together now it felt a little forced. I’m still very much looking forward to the rest of the series. I just wish this lived up to what I expected it to be.

  • READ ME ROMANCE

Weston by Samantha Whiskey is a total standalone but the second in the Billionaire’s Game series. If you ever wanted to get insides of the heads of the rich and famous, love sports romances, and friends to lovers is your jam, then you MUST READ THIS BOOK! And if you have had the pleasure or reading any of her other series, you are sure to love the little Easter eggs of past athletes and Asher, the hero in book one, who pop up in Weston.

The author pens an original concept where the Billionaires are the team owners of various professional baseball, hockey and football teams and their lives interconnect at their regularly scheduled high stakes poker game which is preceded by thrilling adventures. It’s so clever and I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough! This book is filled with all the tension and a thrill factor for sure, plus all the angst of will they or won’t they…and you can bet that they do!

Weston is the owner of the Raptors football team and also has his hands in many successful business ventures. He’s King Midas making everything his big manly hands touch turn to gold, and he never fails to give credit to Brynn for her hand in his success, Brynn has been faithfully by his side since high school and although she is technically his administrative assistant, she also holds the role of best friend forever, most trustworthy confidant, and the new marketing director at one of his holdings.

Brynn was smart, loyal and level headed and I admired how she could be truthful with her feelings. How she worked hard to get ahead in her career, and how they worked through their conflicts. And through all the ups and downs, they remained each other’s biggest fans. I routed for these two the entire time.

I just loved their story and how they know each other so well. This author is one of my favorites and writes the swooniest of heroes. I truly loved their relationship, their friendship, their growth as individuals and as a couple, their sense of humor and support of one another, their witty and flirty banter, and their super steamy times which were plentiful.

Friends to lovers is my all-time favorite trope, and Samantha nailed it with Weston. He was so protective and just adored her, and I couldn’t hide my grin on many pages. I loved Weston from page one until the very end.

There’s also lots of fabulous secondary characters and a nemesis we don’t like named Boyle to add some drama. Boyle has a daughter, Serenity, whom he treats terribly and I am hoping she gets her HEA with a certain pro-team owner, Gareth, in a future book, and her dad gets his due!

  • Misty (Reds Romance Reviews)

Brynn Allen captured his heart and attention back in high school and she's held it every day since... but admitting that to her out loud is never gonna happen. He chosen to keep his crush at his side as his assistant and best friend instead, because Weston knows crossing that line with her will change everything between them and losing her is out of the question. She is just too valuable to him, so he's kept his mouth shut and his hands to himself all these years... no matter how tempting she has become.

Then one night words are uttered, hands wander, kisses are shared and suddenly the guy who never offers his heart up to a woman is ready to hand it over willingly. But will she take it?

From the get-go these two had my full attention, they wandered onto the page and I was enamored by them, and quick to pick up on those sparks just dying to ignite between them. They have maintained a close friendship for years with neither admitting their true feelings for one another, knowing those feelings had the power to change everything. It's a risk neither of them are ready to take... or are they? I loved the push and pull between them, it had tensions and anticipation high, it was honestly the best kind of torture, I couldn't wait for one of them to finally make the move! And once they did... WOW!

As always Ms. Whiskey has brought us a story that is impossible to put down, characters that are easy to love, and words that completely captivate until the last page comes! I loved this couple so much, they tortured me in all the best of ways as I turned the pages and gave me a happily ever after that left my heart soaring. This one definitely has bestseller written all over it, one of her best to date! Highly recommend!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.

Weston & Brynn have been best friends since High School. They haven’t been apart since. Brynn is his PA but honestly she’s the backbone for him in everything he does. He would be absolutely lost without her and he references it frequently in the book.

Brynn on her off time got her degree in marketing and once this is brought up at one of the famous poker games, Weston is shocked. He had no clue she was doing that when he wasn’t around. He offers her head of the marketing department for his Marketing Firm he won in the poker game. She’s so excited to finally let her creativity go.

Getting the chance to do a pitch for Nike for a female line, Brynn is ecstatic! She works her ass off getting the perfect pitch done.

Both of them had loved each other but never wanted to blur the lines because their friendship meant to much to each other. Well one night they kissed, then another night the messed around and after that they realized how much they really are perfect for each other.

I have been waiting for Weston’s story ever since we met him in “Hendrix”. “Weston” is a sweet, steamy and unputdownable story that I devoured as I read Weston and Brynn finally realize how perfect they are for each other.

Weston is a billionaire, owns many companies and is the owner of the Raleigh Raptors, a NFL professional team. But he wouldn’t be as successful without his best friend and personal assistant, Brynn. They have been friends for years but one night, something shifts between them.

I have always been intrigued by Weston and I loved his story. Weston is an adrenaline junkie and a savvy businessman. He lives life on the edge but also takes risks he knows he will win. And that includes being with Brynn because they have such a rich history and mean everything to each other. Brynn was so much fun to read and I connected with her right away. She’s confident, smart and kind. The two had great banter and a true friendship that moved into a relationship that felt real and not rushed at all. Their spicy times were so good and I loved reading about them connecting on a deeper level. There are some hints on what the next book could be and I can’t wait.

    “Then, now, always”
Every @authorsamanthawhiskey book is a great surprise. I always find out about her next book on Instagram when it is almost release day and it is an auto download for me.

We met Westin and Brynn a few books ago and have seen them since at the monthly poker games. They have been best friends since high school and are nearly inseparable. Weston is a billionaire who runs a couple companies and owns a NFL team. Brynn is who keeps everything running smoothly for him. Technically her title is his assistant but she does so much more.

However when Brynn takes over Weston’s marketing company their relationship is forced to change. She is no longer at his beck and call. She is running her own company and crushing it. As lines start to blur and be crossed their relationship progress into the final missing piece, an intimate relationship. They were already so intertwined that they were practically in a relationship. They were perfect for each other and when they fought they knew how to make it up to each other in spectacular fashion.

I truly hope Gareth’s book is next! 🤞🏼

This book was a cute and fun read. It is definitely not the best book from this universe and I wanted more but it was really sweet.

Weston is a billionaire whose best friend, Brynn, has been by his side as a personal assistant and friend for years. They have both been in love with each other for years but have been too scared to ruin the friendship. This is the story of them exploring their feelings.

I wanted a little more from this story. It felt like there was no drama or conflict and it seemed like the couple fell into a relationship randomly. They have been in love with each other for years and we never really understood why now. I wanted more from this story. I hated Lena, the ex, because it made me respect Weston less for his choices in women and I just wanted more from him as a character.

I can’t really put my finger on what more I wanted, I just wanted more. More story, more motivation, more conflict, more romance, and more interest. This story did not give me that and it just kind of felt like a bridge for other stories in the series. I probably would have rated this story lower if I hadn’t already read and loved all of the other stories in this universe.

    Weston and Brynn

This was a quick read for me. It was pretty lighthearted and easy to follow. Weston and Brynn had intrigued me since they first appeared in Samantha Whiskey’s world and I was excited to get a more in depth view of their relationship.

Weston and Brynn had been in love with each other for ten years, but neither wanted to cross any lines that could damage their friendship. As Brynn took on a new role in Weston’s company, their relationship started to change and when they finally cross the line, there is no going back for either of them.

I loved Weston and Brynn together. I loved their friendship and their devotion to each other. I loved the mutual pining and the way Brynn opened up to Weston after their first kiss. I loved how Weston really listened to Brynn and gave her exactly what she needed to feel secure in their relationship.

Brynn and Weston made a perfect couple. After ten years of friendship they deserved their happy ending. I can’t wait for the rest of the Billionaire friend group to find their happiness now!

"Weston (Billionaire's Game #2)" by Samantha Whiskey beautifully captures the magic of a friends-to-lovers romance. The journey of Weston and Brynn, who transition from high school friends to passionate lovers, is both heartwarming and exhilarating. Their deep-rooted friendship adds an authentic layer to their evolving relationship, making their chemistry all the more believable and compelling.

Whiskey's skillful character development ensures that both Weston and Brynn feel relatable and multidimensional, drawing readers into their emotional world. The narrative is spiced with steamy scenes that heighten the romantic tension, keeping readers eagerly turning the pages. While the plot follows familiar tropes, it’s executed with a charm that fans of the genre will adore. This book is a delightful read for anyone who enjoys a well-crafted friends-to-lovers story with engaging characters.

Not their best series but it allows you to be in contact with the mythical characters of the Carolina Reapers series

Weston finally takes the blinders off.

So any of Samantha's readers will have seen the tension between Weston and Brynn.
Weston is the definition of successful but is truly blind when it comes to his assistant/bestie. When Brynn finally gets the chance to shine employment wise, Wes realises how intertwined their lives were, how much he relied upon her and essentially how he couldn't live without her.
After putting her professional life on the back burner to be Wes' assistant, Brynn comes into her own when she is given a marketing firm to turn around.
All the lines that held them back from each other blur and as both of them work to move forward, will it be the HEA they deserve? Or will life pull them apart?

With cameos from the regulars and teasers for forthcoming books in the billionaires game series, those blank chips in demand. So who's up next to win the game but lose their heart?

  • Anna

I’d been waiting to read this book for a while. Brynn and Weston are teased throughout the Carolina Reapers books, the Raleigh Raptors books, and of course in Asher’s book. And then when I finally got here it was…nothing. For starters it was extremely short, but not a novella. I’m a huge advocate for shorter romance novels, but this one didn’t even surpass the 200 page mark. There was so little build, and for two people who have known each other for over a decade and have been dancing right the line it didn’t seem like they had any reason to succumb to lust at this particular moment in time. It just felt much lazier than her other books, and it would have benefited from much more tension. And then because there wasn’t much substance the fight and breakup was toothless as well. And even that didn’t resolve adequately.
I really liked Asher’s book, wanted this one to be awesome, and was pretty disappointed that it was far from it.

  • Reader_and_runner

I’ve been reading Samantha Whiskey’s interconnected series for several years now and her books are always fun, interesting, and quick reads. While the books can all be read as standalone, many characters from earlier books make appearances in newer books and the main characters in each of her books typically make an appearance or two in her earlier books.

Westin is the billionaire owner of a professional football team who has been in love with his assistant, Brynn, for ten years. He never wanted to make a move because she has also been his best friend since high school. She of course has been secretly in love with him too.

After ten long years of friendship they give in and then proceed to deal with a lot of miscommunication and no communication.

I know there would be no story without the failure to communicate, but does this constantly annoy anyone else?!🤣
