  This book goes over five vehicles (semi truck, monster truck, backhoe, fire truck, and cement mixer). My 4 year old and I really like this book and read it more nights than not. That said, we shelved this book for years because of the difficult buttons.
  
  Buttons are hidden under textured panels. I like that the grill is rough cardboard and the backhoe arm is soft plastic, but it makes it hard to find the button. After many nights, my 4 year old can now find all but one button, but my 2 year old still struggles with most. The monster truck button gives the most problems - even when they know when it is, they struggle to push it and get frustrated. This is an odd choice given the target age of this book (“first touch and feel sound book”).
  
  Here are the sound used:
  Semi - long press of the horn
  Monster truck - crash/crushing of other cars (sounds similar to rocks dropping into construction vehicle from other books)
  Backhoe - chugging
  Fire truck - short siren
  Cement truck - turning of cement
  Last page - button plays all trucks
  
  Like other reviewers, I don’t find this the most educational by itself because only one or two lines are used for each vehicle, but it’s appropriate for the target audience and it says a lot that the book is entertaining to us at 4 years old and counting. Parents can easily build on the one or two lines for each vehicle while your child(ren) press the buttons.

  This is a go-to book for my 11 month old, he is always very excited for me to read it to him. For me personally, the first couple of pages seem to have fairly decent facts, but from there on the book kinda runs out of steam. My son enjoys the sounds and I enjoy the built-in conversation pieces and the real life photos to talk about. My son cannot press the buttons yet to make the sounds for himself and some of the buttons are a little tricky to find even after reading it multiple times every day.

  Fun for toddlers--press the vehicles to hear a big rig, fire truck. backhoe, etc. Text is a little long, but it can easily be skipped for littler ones and go right to the question and sound words (i.e. Can you chug like a backhoe? Chug!).

  Of course the kiddos in my class are huge fans of this book. They struggle to find the noisemaker though as it's not clearly marked and they can't read, so the written cues don't help. It's okay, they can struggle. Fun book.

  If you get tired of reading this book every day, replace the word "truck" with "clown:"

  The fire clown has a loud siren, ladders to climb, and hoses that spray water...

  etc.

  Kiddo LOVES this book and will read it over and over. I'd like to see the buttons be easier to find/hit for littles

  This is a favorite of the boys I babysit. They love the noises the books make, the textures of the different trucks, and they always want to learn more about the trucks they mention. It's a great book for any kids who really love to explore the world of trucks and the work they do.

  This book has been loved to pieces by my grandson. The sounds are very quiet, which I appreciate.

  Grandma B. bought this while on an outing with Alistair. He hardly lets me read the text at all, he just want to look at each vehicle and push the button for the noise.
