I found this short story to be very entertaining! The old saying goes as follows: "A son is a son until he takes a wife, a daughter is a daughter the rest of her life."

With that saying in mind, Winifred has a son who she loves and has spoiled rotten. The day comes when William tells her that he is in love with Sally Ann and plans on marrying her.

You will not believe the funny extreme things that Winifred does so she can keep her son all her own. This was a fun story to read and especially to me as the mother of a son! :) And no, I am not like Winifred.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I noticed another review mentioned this was a funny read, I didn’t get that feel from it. Yes, there were a couple of funny things that were said or done, but it was funny in a strange more mean spirited way.

Clearly the mom in this story, was over the top possessive bordering on needing medical help. The end of the story was horrifying, the young couple should run and move as far away as possible.

Overall I really enjoyed this story and the characters were actually well fleshed out for such a short story. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a fast read with ironic humor and a bit of subtle creepiness.
