MORE ETHAN BLACKSTONE!!!!!
I can't wait to read this!
Rare and Precious Things is the story of two people who both need the other in order to be complete, but learn just how "rare" their brand of love is when they have to risk everything in order to hold onto it. -
3 (Pregnancy and baby) Stars
I am not sure if this is the last of the series, but I do know, the Blackstone Affair is overdue for an ending.
Rare and Precious Things was very sweet, but nothing really happened but a pregnant Brynne having lots of sex with Ethan
I really enjoyed the series and I am all for non-angsty books but this one was just kind of …. Blah
Brief Summary
- Brynne and Ethan are on honeymoon, lots of sex
- Brynne goes through pregnancy, and there’s lots of sex
- Brynne and Ethan confront the past (even though to me, it didn’t seem like a big deal)
- And lots of sex
Rare and Precious Things is basically Brynne and Ethan’s relationship, except now she’s pregnant. Sure, Ethan, has PTSD so he has night terrors, but other than that, there’s really no drama.
It was cute seeing Brynne go through the pregnancy. She was really insecure as she should be because she’s pregnant.
Overall, Rare and Precious Things was a sweet novel and if you are a Blackstone fan, then you will get a little more of your beloved story.

4 Ethan stars!
Rare and Precious Things is the final installment in The Blackstone Affair. I’ve enjoyed every book in this series, and there is one big reason for that. His name is Ethan Blackstone.
Note to readers: If you haven’t read books 1-3, there will be some story line spoilers
The book starts with Ethan and Brynne anxiously waiting to consummate their marriage. They’ve been waiting for this moment and now it’s finally here. They are husband and wife. Ethan has won over his American girl. Although their time together has been short, it’s been intense and it’s been real. They mean the world to one another.
“My eyes have only really been opened since we met. You gave me everything. You made me really want to open my eyes to what was around me, for the first time in my adult life. You made me want you. You made me want... a life. You were my greatest gift of all, Ethan James Blackstone.”
“Brynne was my life. The last piece of my puzzle that had finally completed me. I just need a way to tell her somehow. I wanted her to know how happy I was because I had been blessed with the rare and precious gift of loving her.”
Married and expecting her first child. Brynne Blackstone would have never imagined that being in her near future four months ago when she first met Ethan, but here she is. She’s happy, healthy and in love. What could go wrong?
The Blackstone’s have come a long way, but they still have things to overcome. Things from the past that play into the present for both of them. As husband and wife, they have to find a way to lean on each other and talk out their feelings, not just keep the issues to themselves. Ethan really found a way to move forward from the things that haunt him. Being able to open up and talk to anyone about his past is a big deal for him. He is such an amazing man! He is still that lovable alpha male with a dirty mouth. And Brynne is still the only girl for him.
The connection these two share throughout the book is beautiful. Even with Brynne being pregnant a majority of the book, you still feel the passion, the heat, the need between them. They have amazing chemistry.
Written in dual perspective like book 3, you get to see inside both Brynne and Ethan’s heads. Two people, broken by their pasts, coming together and becoming whole. The Blackstone series nails it. I was nervous about this book. I liked the place book three ended, and I wasn’t sure how book four would pan out... but I was really happy with the direction it took. I feel like readers will get more insight into this couple’s pasts, and closure from their story. An emotional, beautiful and sensual read. This is a series I would recommend.

My heart says 5 Precious Stars....I always listen to my heart.
“For you, Ethan. For your eyes only.”
The Blackstone Affair gifted us with one very gorgeous book couple, Ethan and Brynne. In the first 3 books we witnessed their delicious whirlwind romance, their highs, their lows, and their joys. They have a rare and precious gift… each other… and their whole lives to look forward to.... together???
“This woman owned me…”
Could it be that straight forward? I want them to be happy.....
So what more could book 4 give us? That's the question I asked before embarking on this read.....
Would issues from their past resurface and put their happiness at risk??? They have to face things they'd rather not.
“It felt like we had the luxury of forever.”
Did they have forever?
Rare and Precious Things is about being happy with what you have and not wasting a minute…. Every second is precious. Don’t dwell on the past, face it and let it go. Live for the now, for the future and cherish. Always
Lots of lovely feelings
Raine Miller gave me so many pretty pictures with her writing. Beautiful, sensual, erotic love scenes, touchingly tender moments. The pregnancy story telling journey is just beautiful, it made me feel warm and content inside. It was all just lovely.
Brynne’s voice made me smile, she’s loving and giving, brave and strong with bags of personality. Ethan was his British, gorgeous self, with his usual dirty mouth, he made me swoon and smile. Love his dirty mouth.
“Ethan Blackstone was a wonderful man, with a beautiful heart….”
Rare and Precious Things is a celebration of Ethan and Brynne's deep feelings for each other. They have an indescribable connection; they're each other's destiny.
Book four inThe Blackstone Affair series is like an extended beautiful epilogue. It made my heart fit to burst, and made my eyes shed a few tears. It gave me a small slice of drama, just the right amount, to make this a wonderful heart melting and touching read. It was beautiful and tender and sexy. Boy was it sexy…. They love each other with their bodies, their minds, and their souls. If, like me, you fell in love with Ethan and Brynne's love affair in the first 3 books then you will adore this gorgeous story.

This is the last book (that is out at this time) for Ethan and Brynne and it's a really nice wrap up. Just back from their honeymoon and with nothing threatening their lives, they're ready for some peace and quiet.
There is a little contrived drama with members of the opposite sex, which if you ask me is just plain silly at this point. But there is also some resolution to both their histories and more drama with the both of them not being forthright.
Ethan also has a security job that takes him away unfortunately at a time when things are unresolved between him and Brynne. Of course, something happens and all hell breaks loose.
Luckily, they have all their friends and family there to support them. And I really loved all the time they spent at Stonewell Court. And also the new addition, well, times 2!
I thought the ending wrapped up well and left them all in a good place. Maybe now there will be that peace and quiet...for a while anyways! ;)
No new book in the works but RM said never say never.

4 Precious Stars!
This book starts right after Brynne and Ethan’s wedding. Their off on their honeymoon, getting ready to become parents and everything is finally in their place. They are happy and with every intention of keeping that way.
But ghosts from both of their pasts are restless and insist on getting back to haunt them and their new found happiness.
And when a marriage begins to being haunted by the past, how long can you keep the ghosts away?
This was a pretty good ending to this series. I loved to see more of their lives after the wedding and I ended up with a nice feeling about their story. ;)
Rating: 4 Stars.
Storyline: There was too many cheesy moments were I just rolled my eyes and tought “ really, again?”, but other than that was a pretty enjoyable reading. I’m not a huge fan of too much unnecessary drama but I missed that on this book. It lacked a bit more drama. But, oh well, I liked it anyway.
Writing Style: Firs person, dual POV. One of those books you just can’t put it down.
Character Development: I love Ethan’s alpha-male personality and Brynne is a really strong female main character. The supportive characters are pretty good and there are some of them I would love to read their story.
Steam: Hot.

One thing was for certain. I wanted it all. No doubts. Not a one. All Mine.
This is book 4 in the Blackstone Affair series. If you haven't read this yet...this review may contain spoilers.
After surviving the first 3 books, Brynne and Ethan are now married and expecting a little Blackstone. Both of them are trying to overcome issues from the past...and they are doing it together.
Rare and Precious Things is the story of two people who both need the other in order to be complete, but learn just how "rare" their brand of love is when they have to risk everything in order to hold onto it.
"I need you like I need air to breathe. You are my air, Brynne."
He filled my mouth with his tongue as he started to thrust, both parts of him moving in tandem to take me. As our bodies connected in a frenzy of sex, and heat, and carnal lust, he told me all of the things I loved to hear from my man.
"They are, but my EYES have only really been opened since we met. You gave me everything. You made me really want to OPEN my EYES to what was around me, for the first time in my adult life. You made me WANT you. You made me want....a LIFE."
I'll be kind, if you'll be faithful
You be sweet and I'll be grateful
Cover me with kisses dear
Lighten up the atmosphere
Keep me warm inside our bed
I got dreams of you all through my head
Fortune teller said I'd be free
And that's the day you came to me
Came to me
Come to me my sweetest friend
Can you feel my heart again
I'll take you back where you belong
And this will be our favorite song
Come to me with secrets bare
I'll love you more so don't be scared
When we're old and near the end
We'll go home and start again
Today's the day I'll make you mine
So get me to the church on time
Take my hand in this empty room
You're my girl, and I'm your groom
Come to me my sweetest friend
This is where we start again, again
In the hours of the darkest kind, Brynne has ever been my light. My lover who saw inside my battered soul and freed me.
Only Ethan's love gave me the security I needed to trust again, and to love myself again.

We’ve traveled along with Brynne & Ethan as they meet and fall in love. The journey that may have only been four short months, but those months were filled with drama and suspense that all led them to the day they marry and await the arrival of their baby.
Although Raine Miller has not said if this is the last we’ll see of the Blackstone Affair, this installment was a fitting epilogue to their story. This book follows their journey from the wedding night to a few months after baby-makes-three. Along this journey we get a little more of Neil and Elaina as well as a few bits with Ivan that are making me want to know his story badly.
I won’t go too much into what happens since there were only a few points where things get stirred up a bit and those little nuggets are best experienced through reading them firsthand. And although this is one of my favorite stories, there was just something that took me much longer to read it than I would have expected. Without the drama of a major reveal or major plot twist I found that my eyes weren’t completely glued to the book. Raine Miller’s writing was beautiful and she gave us all a great sense of closure for this couple, both who had their own scars of the past that needed to heal. The love that shines through these pages was done so beautifully and it made me fall even more in love with Ethan than before.
We also get some great steamy and possessive scene's in this one, in pure Ethan style. I was a little worried that with the baby, that Ethan might lessen his need to really claim her in bed. But he was just as aggressive as ever and so gentle at the same time. He's just fucking perfect, and he has a filthy mouth to boot.

Rare and Precious Things is the fourth book in The Blackstone Affair series. It doesn’t really work as a standalone and to fully appreciate this, I think it is necessary to have read the previous three books – Naked, All In and Eyes Wide Open. If you haven’t yet read them and appreciate an uber-possessive, protective and sexy as hell alpha male hero then I can highly recommend them.
We begin Rare And Precious Things with a mysterious prologue that dips into history several centuries old which, I think, will have Raine’s historical romance fans squeeing in delight. There’s someone you know mentioned here!
We rejoin the blissfully happily and newly wed Mr and Mrs Blackstone on their wedding night and they both have beautiful and significant wedding gifts for each other. Ethan, however, really has one thing on his mind – the poor man has got a major case of blue balls after a couple of weeks of abstinence in the lead up to the wedding and as you’d expect, there’s some red hot sex lighting up the first few chapters. I really enjoyed this – Ethan and Brynne have been through the mill and things have been tough for them but it’s so wonderful to see them together happily anticipating the arrival of Baby Blackstone. It’s hard to believe that only four months have passed since they first met that fateful night.
Despite everything appearing to calm down for them, Ethan is still massively over-protective and possessive, constantly worrying about Brynne, fearing for their safety and that of their unborn child. He’s so in love with her and it’s so beautifully portrayed by Raine – his longing for his wife, his overwhelming feelings for her are almost palpable as you read this book. He can’t stand to be near her and not actually touching her, even if it’s just a hand on the small of her back – he has to have that physical connection. He’s absolutely my favourite kind of book hero – intense, protective, possessive, dominant and he has all these qualities in droves.
Not everything is rosy in their world – Ethan is still plagued by nightmares, tortured by the demons of his past that live on in his subconscious and Brynne still has unresolved issues with the events of her past. Rare and Precious things really does bring us full circle on these story-lines where everything is revealed and explained and we do ultimately get full closure, as do Ethan and Brynne which allows them to, finally, move forward together and put the horrors of the past behind them and look to the future and their new arrival.
I so enjoyed this – it took us beyond the Happy Ever After of the wedding day and allowed us to see just how deep their love is and how they help and support each other and allow their beautiful relationship to heal the wounds of the past. They’ve still got some issues to put to rest and it really is a beautiful thing to see how these two slowly help each other to heal.
Ethan’s a changed man from the self-assured playboy he once was – he was happy to flit from one night stand to another and never thought he wanted or needed more than that but his love for Brynne and the way she loves him back has changed everything and nothing will ever be the same again.I love you so much, Brynne, and I can’t make it in this life without you. I’ll never regret our baby, and I’ll never stop loving you, or our children. You’re my life, and you’re stuck with me. And you are the most beautiful woman in the world. In the fucking world! Do you understand me, Brynne?
Le Sigh! Ethan really has been one of my most favourite book heroes of the last couple of years and I watched sadly as the progress metre slowly counted down towards 100% on my Kindle, knowing that their story was almost done. I don’t think I’m quite ready to leave these two behind yet and I hope for more to come in the future. Raine writes really long paragraphs, lots of introspection on behalf of both characters and there’s not page after page of dialogue so, even though my Kindle told me this had roughly 250 pages, there’s a lot of words to a page and I ended up feeling that I’d read a much longer novel. The dual POV works so well – there’s nothing I like better than being in the mind of both protagonists in a romance novel, it’s so important for me to know how they both feel and that’s done beautifully here.
So as I look back over the Blackstone Affair as a whole series, I think Raine has taken us along a very tortuous and angsty path and their happily ever after, so richly deserved, has been hard-fought and difficult but it is finally here. This series has been full of overwhelming passion, heart melting tenderness and heart stopping emotion – it’s sexy, romantic, suspenseful and really quite sublime. It has everything I could ever want or need in an erotic romance and I have loved every second I’ve spent with this tortured couple. It’s another winner from Raine and fans of the series are going to love watching Brynne and Ethan come full circle and await the arrival of Baby Blackstone with them. Plus there’s a promise of more to come in the future involving other characters from the books – can’t wait!

Ethan and Brynne........you are both rare and precious❤️❤️
From the moment that I found Naked, I was All In with my Eyes Wide Open to finding out that Mr. and Mrs. Blackstone were the most Rare and Precious Things in the world.
This book is their HEA, their perfect ending to one amazing and wonderful ride. We, the readers, have watched both of these flawed creatures grow into a loving couple that have endured their fair share of heartbreak and sorrow only to come out on top with each other and their soon to be "little Blackstone".
Raine Miller writes with passion and desire. The love story she created was incredibly beautiful and moving. This 4th book was the icing on the cake. There were still things that needed attention- things in their past that kept creeping around. But together they managed to conquer their pasts and overcome.
No matter how far gone I ever got, I didn't lose sight of the truth: This woman owned me from head to toe, and everything else in between. And she always would.
Seeing Brynne that first time...brought me back to life somehow, some way, and none of it was planned or expected. It just happened that way.
"It's true. You made me want to live, at a time when I knew I'd never really thought about, or cared much about, what the future held," I repeated.
"I love you, Ethan."
"I love you more, my beauty."
BR with ♥Jxxx and Barb♥
In closing, I would like to thank you, Raine Miller, for creating the one and only....

“I couldn’t forget you that night because when I saw you in person for the first time…it was the moment I came alive again.”♡♥
4.5 stars!
Wow, just wow. I had been tapping and tapping my foot anxiously awaiting the arrival for Rare and Precious Things and it did not disappoint me!!
Book Four of the Blackstone Affair series takes place right after where Eyes Wide Open left off. Newly married, we find out the juicy details of the who, what, when, and where after the wedding and the honeymoon! YAY!!
We even get to meet a baby Blackstone!! Hehe. *And sorry!! I can’t reveal the gender/name!! It’s TOP SECRET!*
So... In true Raine fashion, she delivers a heartfelt performance of two broken individuals scarred by tragic ordeals and who must now confront their harrowing pasts in order to put their demons truly to rest.
That’s not to say, with a bun in the oven and recently just hitched, that their journey is going to be an easy one.
With guilt, despair, and need for salvation in the air, will these two lovers ever find the redemption and peace each so desperately craves? And will they ever find deliverance and learn to savor everything they have presently (in life) while learning to relish the exquisite surrender they find in one another?
Read and you will find out!
So, my verdict: An ABSOLUTE MUST READ to those of you who loved books 1-3 of the Blackstone Affair Series!
Rare and Precious Things took me on a much deeper journey and focused on the power of unconditional love. I learned a lot about life and love in general and that we should forgive and let go the bad and value what’s most important.
After all, in life, bad things will happen and so will tragedies. But it's the little things, moments, and people in life that can impact you so profoundly that make everything you take for granted even more worth living and cherishing.
That said, I WON’T divulge you readers if this is the final installment in the series. You’ll just have to read and see for yourselves.
BUT I WILL say that I hope to hear more from the Blackstones as well as Neil/Elaina and even Ivan/Gaby!! Can there be another novella or even a novel with Neil and Elaina?! I LOVE them!!
And I’m now EXTRA super, super anxious for Ivan and Gaby’s story in the Rothvale Legacy series!! Too bad it has yet to have a release date yet!! Omigah, I’m dying for it!!
*sighs*
Anyways...
I’ll now leave you readers with my favorite quote from the book:
“Brynne was my life. The last piece of my puzzle that had finally completed me. I just needed a way to tell her somehow…I wanted her to know how happy I was…because I had been blessed with the rare and precious gift…of loving her.♡♥”
Awww!~

5 precious stars for Rare and Precious things!
Let me start by saying that I had the biggest expectations walking into this read. The Blackstone Affair is one of my all time favorites, and I am Ethan's #1 fan. Without giving any spoilers out, this book did not disappoint. In fact, it was perfection. It was beautiful, and it had everything. Drama, suspense, pure holy hotness, and the sweetest love story. Just the best. I am a Raine Miller fan for life. If somehow you haven't read this book or series yet, you need to. Trust me on this:) -
A great end to this series. I liked how there was no unnecessary over the top drama in the final book. Ethan and Brynne would have to be one of my all time favorite couples. I especially love the way he loves her. Highly recommend this series is you are looking for a hot romance with an obsessed alpha and strong likeable heroine.

Book four in the Blackstone series picks up where book three left off. Ethan and Brynne have just married after a whirlwind of four months together. They arrive at Stonewell Court, the house in Somerset that Ethan bought her as a wedding gift.
Ethan and Brynne have been practicing abstinence for the two weeks leading up to their wedding night to make the night even more special. They are absolutely burning for each other by the time the wedding night arrives. We get an unforgettable, fabulous wedding night, filled with so much love and tenderness. We also get the sexy, deliciously dominant, gloriously naked Ethan! The man is the total package, and just stunning!
After their magical wedding night in Somerset, Ethan and Brynne leave for their honeymoon in the Italian Riviera. They relax, unwind, and just really enjoy each other. They spend their days and nights wrapped up in each other and are blissfully happy, content, and crazy in love with each other.
Then they return to their life in London where Ethan runs Blackstone Security, and they prepare for the arrival of their first child. They travel to their home in Somerset for long weekends of relaxation, and to spend time with Ethan's family.
As they adjust to married life and prepare for the baby, their troubled pasts begin to resurface, and cause them turmoil. Ethan also continues to have nightmares, and struggle to deal with memories of his time as a prisoner of war. He continues to be tortured by reliving these memories. They both decide to get help, make peace with their past, and try to move forward. They don't want their past to effect their future together.
We also get the wedding of Neil and Elaina, and finally the birth of Ethan and Brynne's baby. I loved seeing them as parents, and the couple getting their HEA! They really grow as a couple, and continue to be each others home and heart!
I thoroughly enjoyed this entire series of my sexy Brit, and his American beauty! Ethan could be overly protective and possessive, but his capacity for love is limitless! Brynne opens his heart, and we get an absolutely beautiful love story! They share such a connection, and passion for one another! Just a gorgeous story and a MUST READ!!! :D I hope we also get a story for Ivan & Gabby, and please, please give the hot as hell Dillon Carrington a book too! :)))
-I loved his scratchy whiskers abrading my skin when he kissed me and dragged his lips over my body. It was, again, one of the many parts that made up my Ethan.
-Always touching me. He needed to do it, and for me, his constant contact was something that helped me to flourish.
-"Just you, Ethan. You're all I really want or need."
-"You're my everything, Ethan."
-Could there be any man on earth more perfect than my man? Highly doubtful.
-Brynne could express so much without ever saying a single word. How in the hell she managed to be so off-the-charts fucking sexy by just giving me a look, I will never know.
-"Baby...you are so sexy-beautiful right now. Don't move. Just stay as you are and let me touch you."
-I remained still, but I tensed in anticipation of what he would do first. He hung there for a moment, just studying me, claiming my body with his eyes. Ethan liked a splash of voyeurism in our encounters. I little kinky at times, and a lot...dominant, but I welcomed it from him.
-"Turn all the way around." The deep command of his voice heated me instantly, rendering me completely enslaved to his unrelenting dominance when it came to this part of us. Ethan's control of our sex. His control over me. It made me hotter than hell.
-"Feel that, me beauty. All of it- just for you."
-"I'm a beast, what can I say?"
-"You belong to me!"
-He had a way of asserting his ownership of me whenever he touched me. Felt like heaven.
-God, he was a beautiful man with his hard lines of muscle and golden skin. I could look at him for years and never be content with the looking.
-I didn't need a lot, but I did know that now that I'd experienced Brynne's love, I would be lost without it. Love. A thing I'd never sought out, had caught me up, completely ensnared me... so that now I was dependent upon it for my emotional survival.
-"Well this image was the first part of you my eyes ever looked upon. I saw this picture and knew I had to have it.
-That night- you standing there in your dark grey suit- the way you looked at me from across the room- was something I will never forget as long as I live."
-"I couldn't forget that moment even if I tried, Brynne. It's seared into my memory."
-"I couldn't forget that night because when I saw you in person for the first time... it was the moment I came alive again."
-"I love the sound of it- Dad. I'm a dad and you're a mum." "We are indeed."
-My beautiful girl let me know, and showed me, yet again, what a rarity I possessed in her love, as she had from the very first. Rare. Brynne's love was something rare- a gift.
-Brynne was my life. The last piece of my puzzle that had finally completed me.
-
Of course I still loved it. This book had a little angst which was kind of different, but was still great.

5 stars! I was so worried that this book would ruin the "happy place" I was in after Eyes Wide Open. But I should not have, because Raine Miller rocks and this book was awesome! I will never forget how much I LOVE Ethan Blackstone, but this book just reinforced both my lust and love for him! We got lots more sex, dirty talk and undying love. It also seemed that Brynne matured a little during her pregnancy and it was great to experience that. Thank you for a great ending to a fabulous series! -
Este libro no era necesario, la historia quedó perfecta en Sorprendida.

“It had all begun across a crowded room one night in the spring –at a gallery tucked away on a London street –when fate had stepped in and forever changed the course of our lives.”
The Blackstone Affair series have been my top favorite series since October 2012 when I first met Ethan and Brynne for the first time in Naked. Ever since, there has never been any other book that has captivated me the same so I always await the next book in the series anxiously.
Rare and Precious Things captivated me from beginning to end. Raine Miller spiraled me into her web and I was consumed with her magical writing. These two characters that I love so much have come full circle. Ethan and his beautiful American girl, now husband and wife and awaiting the beautiful moment when they will get to see their child. I lived every single moment of happiness, tears, fears, triumphs, successes, anxiety, and elation.
“I’m getting ready to make love with my husband.”
One of my favorite moments in the book was the anticipation by both Ethan and Brynne about their time together for the first time as husband and wife. They adore each other and I felt goosebumps with the anticipation of their first night and how special it was for each other to make it a special night like no other.
As we see Ethan and Brynne as husband and wife, I felt the connection was like never before. Their intimacy reached a point of total trust, devotion, and passion so palpable that it was like being there with them.
“At least with her by my side, I felt like I had some small chance of being normal…”
I am proud of the way Ethan and Brynne have come to develop emotionally. In this book Ethan’s growth is remarkable. I was able to understand many aspects that I didn’t before. And I love Ethan now more than ever.
We continue to see all the aspects of this beautiful character that is Ethan Blackstone: funny, loving, protective, passionate, intimate. There were magical moments that had me in tears. Brynne, strong and independent, always there for her husband, for the family, but always making the decisions she needs to make for herself.
Raine Miller magic was present throughout. Most of her characters one way or another all present in this book.
What a beautiful book and what a beautiful place for our Ethan and Brynne to be after everything they have had to endure in their lives. It was sad to see The End but they will forever live in my heart and in the countless rereads I will have of this, my favorite series.
Congratulations to Raine Miller on a book that touched every fiber in my soul. -
* 5 Precioius stars *
I've waited for the 4th book in this series to finally give one of them 5 stars. This one was like one, big, wonderful epilogue. I loved the journey to Ethan and Brynn's happiness and am really sad that this one is over. But as they say all good things come to an end:) It was simply beautiful and precious book. Needless to say that in addtition to Raine Miller's great writing the book was insanely hawt!, hell Ethan is a beast when it comes to bedroom.
Brynne is the heroine that I liked from the very beginnig, confident and strong in spite of the nasty things that happened to her in the past. What I liked in this installment is the fact that she finally comes to terms with the past and learns to live with. She is also wonderful support for Ethan and thanks to her, he is starting to seek help to let go of his also painful past and learns to cope with guilt that is eating him constantly."In the hours of the darkest kind, Brynne has ever been my light. My lover who saw inside my battered soul and freed me."
"Every day since the first day, you have made my life worth living. You make me wake up every single day knowing that I am blessed man. With you, I am real. You made me real when you walked into that gallery and looked up to see me. You are the only one. The only person ever able to really see me. I want to spend every day of the rest of my life loving you. That's all I want, all I need."
And Ethan, oh he does not disappoint as always. He is dirty talker as he used to be, possesive and overprotective but also caring and full of passion and love. You can't just not love him, and his shagging, of course;)"I might be calmer now, but I was fully aware that I'd just fucked my wife like a madman in the entryway of our home."
"Because Ethan Blackstone was a wonderful man, with a beautiful heart, filled with so much love for me,"

5+++++++ Beautiful Blackstone stars
Rare and Precious Things is book #4 in The Blackstone Affair series. I have read them again & again & I can never find the right words to explain how deeply I love them & how much I love Raines writing. Her words pull you in, grip you & don't let go till the end. Ethan & Brynnes journey from Naked right through to this book has been an emotional, heartbreaking roller coaster of love, passion & heartache mixed with excitement, anticipation & laughter along the way. I thought I was going to have a heart attack at one point & could'nt breathe but then that's the effect Raines writing has.
Since Eyes Wide Open I've been on tender hooks waiting for Rare and Precious Things & as soon as I started reading it felt liked I'd been wrapped in a huge blanket.
Ethan & Brynne are now adjusting to married life & expecting their first child. These characters have grown so much since they first met & in this book their relationship grows stronger & hotter but on a whole other level.
There are still challenges for them both to face with ghosts of the past, & links to Raines historical novels, that had me not wanting to put it down but it all makes for beautiful way to bring their story to a close.
I hated when I saw The End but I will never forget them that's for sure. -
YAAAAAY!!! MORE ETHAN & BRYNNE!!
I.CAN'T.WAIT. -
4 Beautiful Stars!
This was an enjoyable read for me. While reading the 4th book in The Blackstone Affair Series, I felt as though I was reading an extra special Epilogue. I was happy with the way book 3 ended so I wasn’t sure how book 4 was going to unfold., but Rare and Precious Things was such a lovely and sensual read.
The connection that Ethan and Byrnne have is simply amazing. The passion they have for each other continues to be as strong as ever. Both have come a long way but they still have things they need to overcome.
As Ethan and Byrnne await the birth of their “butterfly angel”, they are happy and still have an intense emotional and sexual connection. Loving Byrnne was everything to Ethan. It is what he lived for. Brynne loved him just as he was even as he continues to struggle with his past. Her love offers him some peace.
The story is told in dual perspectives and being in both Ethan and Brynne’s heads allowed for a deeper sense of how their past was still painful for each of them and how it was affecting their lives. They needed to find a way to come together and work through their issues so they can find their peace. Even though they loved each other completely, this peace would give them more freedom to move forward as husband and wife and soon to be dad and mum.
I loved Ethan throughout this series. Though he is a sexy alpha male that loved to talk dirty, he simply adored Brynne and his love for her was endless. And Brynne is exquisite both inside and out. Together these two share an amazing chemistry. Rare and Precious Things gave me that additional insight and closure to their journey to find their forever happiness.

4.5/5 💖🌟

Raine Miller did it again! I didn't know how Ethan Blackstone could get any better, but he did. In book four of The Blackstone Affair series we get more much desired answers about the trama Ethan went through in battle, what happens with Lance Oakley (would love to read his book as now I'm even more intrigued), whether the baby will be a boy or girl, another glimpse of Ivan, and a little more Zara! And we can never have too much Zara! We also get some answers about Stonewall Court (thank you Raine) as I was very curious about the new Blackstone home. For now, this is the conclusion for Ethan & Brynne. I hope we at least see glimpses of them in future books and would have loved a Longer epilogue with a 5 & 10 year down the road glimpse as I will never get enough of the Blackstone family. Still that lacking did not have me deducting even 1/2 a star as this is still an excellent read and Ms. Miller is an amazing author.
This book gives you a little bit of everything, it answers some much needed speculations & leaves you with that satisfied feeling at the end of a truly remarkable story. Raine is a very talented author that puts it all out on the table and keeps the reader totally engrossed in the story and at the end swinging somewhere in between sated but still begging for more. I can't wait for future books yo be published and will continue on track with those spinoffs of this series that are already on deck next on my Kindle. Raine has definitely won her place in my heart as a favorite goto author. -
5 stars

3.5 - Simba & Dory Stars.
Rare and Precious Things brings us to the end (for now) of Ethan and Brynne Blackstone’s journey. I have loved this series for the most part; Raine Miller has bought us the epitome of a dark, dominant, dirty-talking male in Ethan, and Brynne has been equally enchanting in the fact that she has stood her ground and fought for what she believed in from the very beginning of book one - Naked.
Ethan – “We’d actually managed it. We’d survived and made it to this point right here, right now. Married. Husband and wife. Baby on the way
However, I do have to question as to whether this final instalment was really necessary, particularly with regards to its actual length. Now this is in no way me saying I didn’t enjoy the book, but I do feel that there was a lot of meandering to get to the actual point of it, particularly the first 30%. It was great to follow Brynne and Ethan through the first few months of their marriage, and the pregnancy, but all the story seemed to offer was them having sex, and eating or getting ready to eat in various locations. About 40% in you do get the addition of Brynne’s past coming back to haunt her, but for me the story didn’t really get going until about 70% and all of which came before I could have happily digested in a couple of chapters.
As always the sex, and Ethan and Brynne together in general is hot and easy to devour, but the constant use of phrases such as “my beauty”, “my girl”, “my man” & “my husband” got a little old after a while, saying that though I loved Ethan’s continual use of good old British slang and swear-words – arsehole, shag/ging and wankstain being my particular favourites :)
As a reader, Raine certainly does a stellar job for us in rounding out this series, baby Blackstone makes an appearance, Simba gets his HEA as do quite a few of the secondary characters. There is also the addition of a dark haired, good-looking race car driver into the mix, and I hope against hope that Raine “puts pen to paper” for him at some point in the future, as there is definitely a story to be told there.
I would still whole-heartedly recommend this series to anyone looking for something to read that will grab them by the imagination and not let them go until the very end. There have been highs and lows in my relationship with these books, but I am heart-happy that I stuck with it until the end. Here’s hoping we get a little more from Ethan and Brynne at some point in the future, even if it is just to check in and see how many more times he has managed to knock her up!
