  Worthless self-help drivel packaged up to look like a biography of a great scientist.
  
  I could do a similar thing and write a "biography" of a historical politician by pasting
  How to Win Friends and Influence People on the pages within. To hide the fact I created a sham I might provide around 3 pages of biography scattered within; the first website I find on the internet would be the obvious source for such important historical information regarding the "subject" of my book. Yes... not only will this be a valuable use of my time, I will have the vaunted title of 'author.' I could even do it over and over again in order to claim I have "published numerous books!" I'm such a genius, I should even think about writing a book about myself one day!

  This book gets dinged for being a succinct biography of Tesla wrapped in a loaf of self-help tinged ruminations on 'genius.' But it is a quick read and an interesting one, regardless.
  
  Nearly a third of the book goes by before mentioning Tesla, and the first twenty percent of it is essentially a summarization of thoughts from Malcolm Gladwell. The last fourteen percent of the book is information about the author's other books.
  
  But the ruminations on genius aren't completely without merit. The problem comes from the fact that the title and cover of the book lead one to think this is a book solely about Tesla.
  
  For the large middle section, however, it is. A longer, more focused book would undoubtedly have more information. After reading this, and learning about Tesla, I am now certain I want to read a book like that. But I appreciate this book for teaching me a lot I didn't know about the man, and above all for making me want to read a longer book about him.
  
  Sure, I could have learned more from a longer book that stuck to the topic of the man's life and accomplishments better than this book did. But until I read this quick and informative - if initially wandering - book, I did not realize that I wanted to read about Tesla in such depth. So for that realization, and the fascinating facts revealed, I am not as against this book as some of the other readers are.
  
  I understand their feelings of being misled, but for me, I am just glad to have the door to this man's life and inventions opened a crack. Now I know I want to go in.

  I agree with the reviewer who points out that this is not a full biography of Tesla, and I too thought that it would be when I started reading. That did not take away from my enjoyment of the book, though.
  
  Nikola Tesla is a fascinating man, and his accomplishements were many (and often misattributed). This book provides an overview of Tesla and what he accomplished, as well as an in-depth analysis of why he didn't accomplish more. It goes one step further, which is to share with the readers just how men of Tesla's greatness can fail to reach their full potential, using him as the case study for this main point.
  
  The e-book is well-formatted and easy to read, the material is interesting, and it is short and to the point. It may not tell you the whole story of Tesla, but the story that it does tell sheds a lot of light on his backstory and the outcome of his life. Those striving for greatness can take quite a bit away from the points that are made throughout this book.

  First of all, the author makes an introduction showing some "hints"about IQ and imagination. So what?
  
  By following, he writes a very abridged report of Tesla's scientific accomplishments without making any kind of reference.
  
  And then he claims that it was Tesla who discovered the X rays and not Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen!!! Perhaps the author never ever heard about the
  The Nobel Prize of Physics in 1901 which was awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Stockholm, Sweden!!!
  
  The Nobel Prize in Physics 1901 was awarded to Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen "in recognition of the extraordinary services he has rendered by the discovery of the remarkable rays subsequently named after him".
  
  By saying this, the author underestimates the reader's general knowledge in this matter which is not my case since I am a physicist.
  
  Dear author, please do some research work before you start to write such amount of non sense!!
  
  Even if I haven't read the book,
  Tesla: Man Out of Time by Margaret Cheney which is quite often referred on Tesla's life. I will certainly read it now.
  
  In addition, there is his autobiography also,

  After reading reviews on "Hillbilly Elegy" I thought of this book and wanted to re-read parts of it to make a review, to try to counteract the falsehoods displayed in the Elegy book.

  TESLA! What a great scientist are you !!
  
  This book showed me how great was this man, and how he suffered to make something useful to the world, and how he was offended by the most two powerful men at that time (J.P Morgan, the richest financier at that time,, and Edison, that great scientist and the discoverer of the direct current) and how cruel and evil was Edison with him, because his ideas were much better than him and were going to make his discovery faint and then the "current war" took place!.. I don't know why I've never heard of the name of such an imaginary man except as a unit, on contrary with Edison whom no one knows his name though Tesla has much more discoveries, and for the discovery which is in common "The Current", that of Tesla's is much greater !!
  
  This man has so many achievement, I'll mention what I remember now:

  As mentioned in a lot of reviews, the first third of the book is nothing about Tesla but rather some nice discussion and summary on the 10,000 rule.
  
  But I have to say that the Tesla part is good. I mean maybe not great but a very good way to be introduced to this incredible guy. I liked how the author mentioned the intricacies of Tesla's relationship with key people at the time (Thomas Edison and JP Morgan).
  
  P.S. You may start hating Edison after reading this book.

  This is a difficult book to rate. Essentially, it is a series of 3 short essays. The first essay explores the meaning and cause of genius, and ends by discussing Dr. Alfred Barrios's concept of a "genius code," and specifically, the characteristic of imagination. The second essay is a case study of Tesla, focused on his imagination. The third essay/conclusion touches upon creativity. Following this essay is a preview of Sean Patrick's other book, Awakening Your Inner Genius.
  
  All three essays are well written, compelling, and informative. But... the title of the book (and the cover) suggests that this is a biography of Tesla. While the second essay does share a chronology of Tesla's work and his inventions, it is quite brief. This book feels like a trailer for another book of Patrick's, and as a result, there's a certain disappointment I had as a reader. If the title was Genius, Imagination, and Creativity: A Case Study of Tesla, I would have really enjoyed it. In a sense, Patrick sets up his readers to expect a completely different book, and inevitably, that leads to distress.
  
  If you're interested in a series of short essays on genius and creativity, this is a great place to start. If you're looking for a full biography of Tesla, look elsewhere.

  What a wonderful surprise! Sean Patrick has written a book here that everyone should read. You will be inspired. Read it and inspire your children. If you are a teacher, read it and inspire your students.
  
  Admittedly, this book is more about what drives a genius and their imagination then it is a book about Tesla. If you want an in depth study of the life of Tesla, get another book. (You shouldn't expect any book to be in depth at just a little over 100 pages.)

  Probably more 3.5. It is very much a self help book but I think it's good because it does make you feel like you can be a genius too if you unleash your imagination and creativity. I didn't know much about Tesla and if it was just a book solely on him, this book would have had a 4.5/5 from me because it gives a great insight into his life, his drive, his passion and his work. It is a very interesting and quick read.

  I'm sure you can find a better piece (AKA a whole book) about Tesla, but for what this is, it's a quick guide to his life, and not a bad read. The set up and ending with all the inspirational stuff goes on way too long, but you could do worst. I definitely learned stuff about this interesting man.

  Nikola Tesla was born in my country Croatia so I wanted to know more about his life, that's why I started reading this book, I thought it was a biography and the parts about his life were interesting (hence the 3 stars), as for the rest it didn't impress me much.
  
  Da se razumijemo ovo nije biografija nego je "self help nesto maskirano u biografiju", a ja sam bila lakovjerna pa sam nasjela na Amazonu i skinula si na Kindle jer se reklamira kao Teslina biografija i jos je k tome besplatno pa me zanimalo sto "neki tamo Amer" ima za reci o nasem Tesli. Prvi dio knjige jesu crtice iz Teslina zivota i zanimljivo je i sve super dok drugi dio knjige autor nas uci kako da postanemo genijalni i tu autor prilicno americki tupi uz pomoc citata drugih poznatih ljudi, a da nista novo ne kaze osim treba puno radit i zadnjih 10 str reklamira svoje knjige. Eto ako Vam se cita na Amazonu je i dalje besplatna. Ako nista pozeljela sam procitati neku pravu knjigu ove tematike pa su prijedlozi dobrodosli.

  It is kind of amazing that this ever into print. It is really short at 46 pages and really boils down to a very shallow piece on the life and work of Tesla sandwiched between an equally shallow introduction on the concept of genius and another shallow piece on creativity that finishes the book off. Nothing much to say. There are some interesting things though none are really explored in depth. Sad to say that its most positive attribute was its length.

  To someone with non-scientific interest this short book should be a must read. It gives an easy-read of Tesla's life and achievements, of what he had to endure and proves the assumptions that money and power make men evil. If Tesla wouldn't have "fallen into the trap" of J.P Morgan so many times I believe the world would be a totally different place. It is also an inspirational read, so I do recommend.

  I call this as Bookbait, the book version of Clickbait.
  
  When I saw the title, it looks as if it is about Nikola Tesla, his life, creativity, ideas and innovations.
  How wrong I was!
  
  Firstly the book is very short. Secondly, the first mention of Tesla appears somewhere around the 30% mark(thank you Kindle). Then, within a reading time of 15-20 minutes, Tesla goes from being a kid to the end of his life. At best, this book is a very high overview of what Tesla contributed to science.
  
  I'm disappointed, I admire Tesla's genius and innovations, but this book captivated me for about 3 minutes only. The rest of the book is just general statements about innovation and creativity.
  
  To other readers, I would advise to skip this book.

  Insightful and Concise.
  
  The premise focuses on what makes a true genius. Spoiler:- It’s not your IQ or your school grades.
  
  Further the author discusses key elements about the worlds greatest geniuses after which he makes his segway to Nikola Tesla.
  
  The way information has been compiled on Nikola is enlightening! Occasionally the author tends to reinforce and validate views and story of Nikola with quotes of other well know personalities. This gives the story a hint of dramatic effect. Especially the infamous feud between Edison and Tesla.
  
  The author concludes the book by connecting the premise to the main body of the book and thereby highlighting the secret to creativity.
  
  
  Verdict -
  
  The book is a good source of motivation. It is a reminder that imagination is the fuel for creativity. To join the dots, you need to accumulate sufficient experiences in varied or specialised fields. Further, thinking is the true enemy of creativity as it limits you in systematic order.

  Judging from the title, you would guess this short story is going to provide a succinct testament of the life of the brilliant and sometimes tragic Nikola Tesla, but you're unfortunately incorrect. The first 30% of this novel deals with sports metaphors, and general references to intelligence without any documentation for the claims made. The claims without substantiation continues through the entirety of this incredibly short work.
  
  From there we are launched into a very brief overview of the life of Tesla--starting as he arrives in the US. We flash forward quickly to his death, with no indication of the mental issues he suffered, nor the pigeon with laser eyes (a rather famous statement, and image associated with his later life).
  
  Worse yet, Tesla is completely flat in this abbreviated version of his life, with very little indication on who he was as a person, other than the loyalty and sometimes naivety he showed others. The story of Tesla ends at the 80% mark in the book, and is followed with more general statements (another 10%) and ads and requests for reviews (the remaining 10%).
  
  The only reason this is two stars instead of one was, after much reflection, I decided if you were not a Tesla fan, it's a very brief, general introduction to a great man. While part of me would like to condemn it as a high school book report summarizing selections from Wikipedia, it is one of the few stories I've seen on a life that really should be more commonly recognized as a leader in innovation and discovery.
  
  I very rarely write this kind of review, but the disappointment is still fresh, and when so many of the restricted number of pages were spent requesting reviews and self-promoting, I feel the need to oblige.

  A very short, quick read! Actually felt more like a college paper than a book. Not that the writing was bad, or that the material was fragmented. It was more from the standpoint of roughly the first one-third of the book was what I would term as "the introduction". I say that because it had virtually nothing to do with Tesla, and in fact had little to no reference of him.
  
  The middle of the book, dealt with Tesla ... mostly just touching the high notes of his career. Occasionally, it would dip down to review a motive or reasoning ... but mostly you saw the peaks with a few valleys. While it would be impossible to have a meaningful examination of the man, his methods or his philosophy in such a brief book, it would have been nice to have had a little more meat (so to speak).
  
  The thing that I found interesting(if that is the right word) was that the book was really not about Tesla so much as it was about the qualities or traits that he had that made him the way he was and therefore so great. This book could have easily been written using Edison, Bell, Ford or any one of a thousand different captains of industry.
  
  With that being the case, why not market it for what it is and title it differently? As it stands, I thought I was getting a historical read about the inventor and his life. What I ended up with was a high note overview, that the author attempted to tie back to the real subject-matter of his book.
  
  While the read would have been fine as a "self-help" type of book ... it was not the historical read that I was wanting or expecting ... so it left me a little off.

  The book should have been named 'The Life of Nikola Tesla in Two Minutes'. Only a third of this book is really about Tesla - the rest is about creativity and genius (blah!) Even the bit about Tesla reads like a list of his inventions and discoveries, failing to give much insight into the man's life. I would recommend skipping the book and reading the Wikipedia article on Tesla instead, which by the way is much more informative!

  A short read. The book talk about the power of imagination and how it differs from thinking and knowledge.
  
  Moreover the book give a short splendid glimpse of Nikola tesla's, imagination power and his struggle in conquering them surrounded by greedy and envious human beings.

  I did not know much about Nikola Tesla before..
  So i was confused whether to read his autobiography and chosed this short essay about him...
  I am astonished...
  This man selflessly gave away his whole life to science and did not get anything in return...
  He contributed 50+ years to science to only be called as a mad man....
  Edison is such a sucker...
  
  A new respect for scientists, inventors (not edison i hate him) and Tesla has been formed in my mind
  
  I gave it 4 stars because the first eassay or 1/3 rd of the book is not about tesla.... But yeah it was pretty great
