Ellie Carmichael had a crush on Adam Sutherland, her brother Braden’s best friend, for years, and although Adam treated her with proprietary concern he made it clear he thought of her only as a little sister.

Over the years, as Ellie’s crush develops into love, her romantic idealism makes it difficult for her to move on. To make matters worse, as she’s gotten older, Adam’s attitude has changed toward her. His affection for her is now joined by attraction, but his loyalty to Braden, and his fear of losing the only family he has, stops him from claiming Ellie the way she wishes he would.

But one night his attraction is put to the test, and as much as Adam would like things to remain the same everything changes between them in a simple brush of the lips.

Soon lust, love, jealousy and heartbreak combine to force change upon their relationship… and Adam discovers the hard way that life is too damn short to spend it on regret.

I'm sorry. I really like Ellie and I also really like Adam but their love story if that is what you want to call it sucks big hairy balls! Just sayin'! So Ellie has been in love with Adam since she was 14. Adam has been in love with her since she turned 18, but he was scared of losing his best friend Braden(Ellie's brother) over starting something with his sister if it went south. So instead for the next few years he sends her mixed signals, pushes her away, hurts her repeatedly. He loved her but not enough to fight for her and not enough to not to fuck every woman that crossed his path. Right in front of her. Twice she actually seen him fucking other women!

     photo sweety_zpspi4xips8.gif

Now to be fair I would have been okay with Adam being with other women because him and Ellie where not really together and she was with other men. That is until they almost have sex. Then he stops it because he can't sleep with his best mate's wee sister. And even though he is hurt and tortured over his love for her, he has no problem sticking his dick in tons of random woman while ruining every date she goes on. No big deal. I mean that is love there. So I give this book 1 star for Adam and 1 star for Ellie as I did like them both as people just not as a couple. This quotes says it all.

“All these years, even now, you’ve told me all you ever wanted to do was protect me from getting hurt. And yet you say things and do things to confuse me, to make me think you might feel the same way that I feel about you, and then in the next second you’re cold and you flaunt other women in front of me.” The tears fell fast now and I could see Adam’s own eyes starting to shimmer with pain. I didn’t care. I had to get this over with. “The only person who’s ever really hurt me is you. And I keep letting you.”-Ellie

    When I've read
On Dublin Street, I did not only fall in love with Joss and Braden but I also swooned over Ellie Carmichael and Adam Sutherland. This couple is so cute! That's why after discovering that these characters have a novella, I meant to read it immediately. Now after finishing this story, I was once again hooked.
Samantha Young made me fall in love with her characters and the way she created a brilliant love story.

I can't stop smiling all throughout the book as Ellie and Adam's story was told in a sort of flashback narration-- and from Ellie's diary! Everything was so sweet and touching. And goodness, the CHEMISTRY! I especially love the jealous Adam here and Ellie's sweet personality. I wish it was a bit longer though. I think these characters deserve it more than anything.

    ***4 LOVELY STARS***

I absolutely adored this book. I had a stupid smile on my face all the time because this was soooo sweet, yet hot, yet adorable... LOVED IT!

    If you have read
On Dublin Street, you know Ellie is Braden's little sister and Adam is Braden's best friend. Ellie has a crush on Adam since she's 14 years old and she's been writing about this in her diaries. I must say I loved the way the author told us their story.

Adam & Ellie are living together (you already know that from ODS) and Adam finds Ellie with her diaries so he starts reading them with her and we go back a few years to know their story.

It was a special book for me because as Ellie, I also write a diary since I am 13 years old but I would literally DIE if my boyfriend reads them, specially the one when we started together. What a drama queen I was! LOL

Long story short, Adam finds out that Ellie has been in love with him since forever and he wants to know everything that he has missed.

Truth to be told, he's been an arsehole for a good part of Ellie's life but to be honest, he didn't know she was so in love with him.

I'd learned there were some things in life you could never take back

But once Ellie is grown up, Adam puts his eyes on her and even if he tries his best to avoids his feelings, there's nothing he can do because love conquers all.

If you loved, ODS, go read this freebie. It was GREAT! Samantha Young did a great job again creating a beautiful and steamy story.

    Thanks for your rec PIP

Samantha Young, starts this novella with a shout out to her readers, a thank you of sorts for our interest in the story of Ellie and Adam, so with that in mind I thought I would follow suit and thank Samantha Young for allowing us a little more story for the couple that played a back ground role in 'on Dublin street' but actually stole our hearts.

    Whats it all about?
Ellie and Adam have grown up together. Adam is Ellie's brother best friend and over the years he has played the role of big brother and protector. Ellie is a quirky, romance addict and has loved Adam from a young age. This beautiful novella gives the reader a close up insight into the journey of friends to lovers through the pages of Ellie's beloved diary. we are shown a 'through the looking glass' perspective of what happens when Adam goes from playboy to doting boyfriend and Ellie's romantic dreams become a reality.

    What I loved ...
This novella packs more romance then I could have ever expected. I loved how the author fully commits to enlightening the reader to their 'epic love'. The story is a really gorgeous piece of writing and is as equally engaging as it is heart stopping.

    Final thoughts ...
I've had this on my kindle for a while and all I can say is I've been missing out on a well written treat. This gorgeous novella is arguably better than some full sized books I've read. If you have read 'On Dublin Street' then will already be privy to the story of Ellie and Adam, but let me assure that that these 314 pages are not to be missed. With perfect romance laced in every page, the author has delivered a slice of heaven in a few short hours.

"Smart, funny, beautiful, passionate and she tells me I can do anything I want to her."

Don't delay, go get it readers ...

I absolutely adored this little slice of heaven!

I loved Adam and Ellie from “On Dublin Street” and I remember when I was reading it, there were times where I was more interested in them than I was in Braden and Joss!

    And this is why!

Because their story is so beautiful and subtly intense. I mean, here’s Ellie who has been unabashedly in love Adam since she was ten years old. And then there’s Adam who’s always been in love with her but secretly and very hesitantly.

What’s so cool and awesome about this novella is that it’s about Ellie going through her diaries with Adam… and she’s having him read all of her memories of him and moments with him seen through her eyes.. And through those entries, I have to say…

I fell head over heals in LOVE with Adam!

I think my favorite part in this book would have to be when it explained the very moment Ellie fell in love with him.

And NO! I’m not going to spoil it for you by telling you about it! Don’t get crazy.

But I will tell you that it is heart melting!

I heart Adam and Ellie from On Dublin Street. I was excited to have this little gem of a novella to tell part of their story... from the beginning-

Unfortunately, life had played a cruel joke on me and I’d fallen in love with the one person in the whole world I couldn’t have.

Ellie Carmichael, Braden’s little sister, has been in love with her brothers best friend, Adam since she was a teen. For the longest time, Adam only saw Ellie as a little sister. When he started to see her differently, there was no way he could go there. Braden is his best friend. He can’t risk the friendship.

We know from ODS that Ellie and Adam are together, but seeing their journey was sweet, sexy and touching. I absolutely loved the journal entries. Adam finds out how Ellie has really felt about him all these years. It’s a beautiful thing. It shows Ellie’s reactions to Adam, Adam tells his parts of the story, and how Ellie and Adam finally came together.

The best part about this book? If you know me at all, you can probably guess... Braden Carmichael. Yes. I got my Braden fix.

An emotional, sweet and sexy read. I would have loved a whole book on Adam and Ellie, but hey- I’ll take what I can get! Lovers of this series, this is a must read!

We see them together as young as when Ellie was 15 and Adam was 21 and things progress from there...

I felt Ellie's frustration with Adam..Poor girl he was hot one minute and oh so cold the next a typical guy!!I loved Adam he loved Ellie so much, yet he valued his friendship with Braden that he didn't want to jeopardize it. After finishing
On Dublin Street and loving it, I really wanted to know more about Adam and Ellie’s romance. Well, the author satisfied my wishes by telling their touching story in a unique way, and I ABSOLUTELY loved it!

All who read On Dublin Street know a little of Ellie and Adam, Braden’s little sister and his best friend respectively. You knew they had feelings for each other, but something was holding them back for much of the book. I loved when they finally got together, but I longed to know the details! Well, I got my wish when the author (after many requests, apparently) decided to write a novella detailing their romance. Samantha Young told their story brilliantly with flashbacks, and we feel the characters angst and longing intensely, as if it were happening now. We feel the sexual tension they fought against as well:

“It’s up to me to protect you.”
I closed my eyes, his words hurting me. “I’m not yours to protect.”
....The silence was broken when him arm loosened its hold around my waist. I was just turning my head to look at him questioningly when I felt the touch of his fingers against my upper back. Slowly, tortuously he skimmed them down my spine and I flushed feeling my nipples harden visibly against the fabric covering my chest. “You sure about that,” he murmured hoarsely in my ear.

This was a delicious treat, and a tender tale of unrequited love that turns into so much, much more. Amazing!! *sigh*

I was reminded of how much I loved Samantha Young’s writing while reading this. She really knows how to capture your heart and give it a great big squeeze! I can’t wait for
Down London Road which comes out May7th, very soon!

Until Fountain Bridge tells the story of Ellie and Adam's romance through Ellie's diary entries. At first, I thought it might be a little cheesy but as I continuing reading, I found it quite romantic and endearing.

    description

I guess it helped that Ellie was showing them to Adam to read so they were both reliving their histories. Ellie has loved Adam since she was ten years old and was often made to feel like a kid by him and sent confusing messages as she got older. We get to feel her hurt and it showed Adam in a bad light but we do get to know that he suffered too.

Hopefully, you've read On Dublin Street...the story is the same but we get to enjoy Ellie's POV...and to read more about Braden (~sigh~) and Joss. If you haven't read On Dublin Street (and why haven't you??), I think you will be alright, you just won't get the full story.

    description

Some of the parts were quite steamy...and frustrating but I loved Adam's dirty talk! Although, I did feel a bit cheated on the Scottish brogue that we got to enjoy with Braden.

Even though I feel they could've had a full length story, this is definitely worth reading and a great addition to the series! It's especially good if you like the childhood friends to lovers theme.

This is a sweet love story of how Adam and Ellie fell in love...

I was Ellie, Braden’s little sister. To Adam I would always be Braden’s little sister, and that meant I was off limits.

The story began when Ellie was sorting her stuffs in Adam's duplex since she moved there 3 months ago, finding what she was looking for, her diaries, Adam saw her and was eager to know what her feelings for him back then...

“I want to read about it,” he replied softly, the solemnity in his tone bringing my head up, my eyes to his. They glittered at me, full of tenderness and emotion that never failed to make me breathless. “I want every piece of you. Even the stuff I missed without even knowing I
    was missing it.”

Told in Ellie's POV through her diaries, we witnessed how it all started, the way they fell in love to each other or more like oh I think that sound redundant ahaha nvm:)

I always love Ellie in On Dublin Street as she is a "romantic" and I love how she often compare her life on romance books *sigh*
I adore Adam, and how possessive he was to Ellie and how he threatens every guy Ellie dated lol:D
I love Braden in the story too, what a good big brother he is:) we also see some Joss too on the background when Braden was pursuing her hehehe:D

It was a nice wrap of how their story evolves and I enjoyed it, I cried again when Ellie was in the hospital and Joss doesn't know what to do:'/ *sniff*
all in all I really loved it and hope you enjoyed Ellie and Adam's love story too;)

I moved my head a little bit closer and our lips brushed, infinitesimally. Still, that slightest touch sent a bolt of lust straight through me.
Adam made a sound in the back of his throat and I swore he was about to close the distance between us...

This was an adult contemporary romance story, told mainly in flashbacks.

Ellie and Adam were alright characters in this, and they were pretty sweet together. It was also nice to find out more about their history, which stretched back years.

The storyline in this was told in the form of flashbacks based on reading Ellie’s diary, and told the story of Adam and Ellie from when Ellie was 14 years old and onwards. This was mainly about Adam saving her from bullies and treating her like a sister (which she hated), but gradually led on to them starting a relationship together.

The ending to this was okay, but I was getting a bit bored of all the flashbacks by that point.

    2015 review:
    3.5 stars
This was an okay story, and I liked the romance.

The characters in this were okay, and they did stir up a bit of sexual tension at times. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the ‘let’s read my diary and chat’ angle, because it just felt like rehashing stuff, but I’ll forgive the author that because of the spine-tingling sex scenes and almost-sex scenes!

This is a novella. Short sweet with all of " On Dublin Street" heart warming story. Adam and Ellie were introduced on the " On Dublin Street". If you read it, then you know Ellie has been in love with Adam. While Adam treats her as off limit. I wish that Miss Young can give Ellie and Adam a full story novel instead of novella.

Now the story is told from Ellie POV by reading her diary. Even though Miss Young done a good job making the whole story romantic, I can not help feeling, Ellie is trying to make Adam guilty by treating her badly at the beginning of their relationship.

    Hence the 4 stars.

  • Auntee

Ellie shares her diaries (and her lifelong obsession) with fiancee Adam.

Loved it. Clever idea and wonderful, emotional writing. The reader is taken on a journey that shows the friendship that started as a crush (by Ellie, at age 14) on her brother's best friend (Adam) and how it developed into a love story filled with highs and lows. Poor Ellie--Adam really put her through the ringer!

I wasn't sure how Samantha Young was going to backtrack and show us the relationship between Ellie and Adam but I think she did a fantastic job with the whole diary idea. Loved it. And loved the steam.:) 4 1/2 stars

I absolutely loved this novella. Adam and Ellie's characters in the first book (On Dublin Street) really intrigued me but I'll admit that I was a little apprehensive when I picked up this novella because I was worried that it was not going to live up to my expectations. Well I was wrong, it not only lived up to my expectations, it blew my expectations out of the water.

The author captured Adam and Ellie’s story beautifully. Through a series of diary entries and in just 80 pages I was able to live through all of Ellie's emotions; her first young love for Adam, her jealousy, her tears, her hopes and her dreams, as well as her heart breaking sadness.

    Photobucket Pictures, Images and Photos

I thought that the author did an amazing a job of taking the reader back and forth between the past and the present, and even though I knew Ellie and Adams story from reading On Dublin Street, this novella never felt repetitive.

Ellie and Adams love story is both poignant and heart warming, its filled with such raw emotion (the love scenes are also pretty hot). I was left with a huge smile on my tear stained face and a renewed love for new adult literature, (in fact dare I say it but I preferred Ellie and Adam to Joss and Braden!!! )

All in all, an amazingly beautiful novella worth all of my shiny 5 stars!!

    5 Forbidden Romance Stars!

This is the story about Elie falling in love with her brother's best friend, Adam, told through her diary entries which she began when she was fourteen years old.

Elie has been in love with Adam for as long as she can remember. He is her strong, confident protector and all others pale in comparison. Convinced he will forever see her as his best friend's "wee sister" she decides it's time to move on... if only he would let her!

Poor Ellie! She certainly gets her fair share of mixed signals as Adam desperately (and unsuccessfully) tries to keep his distance. I loved his emotional turmoil and felt he had a lot more to risk than Ellie. ( I was desperate for more detail about his journey, especially in the last half of the story. It seemed desperation and longing were the flavours of the day for everyone!)

Ultimately, this is a totally sweet novella, full of sexual tension, longing and heartache, even though we know a happy ending is guaranteed.

It was nice to revisit Joss and Braden's story from another perspective as well.

I wish this was a longer, more detailed, stand alone novel though. I wanted to spend more time with these two characters who had so much history and so much longing.

That being said, as far as novellas go, this is one of the very best!

I still don't like Ellie all that much. Too naive and romantic for my tastes but she is a strong person and Adam didn't deserve her. I didn't see any kind of connection between them but that's ok, it was just a short story and it was enjoyable enough without being anything remarkable.

Adam Gerard Sutherland…

description I need to. I need to be with you. I love you, Ellie. I’m fucking in love you.”
    He was crying.

Ellie’nin Adam’a karşı duygularını yılları boyunca içinde tuttuğunu, bu sırada kendi hislerinin farkında bile olmayan Adam’ın kıvranışlarını, tatlı öküzcük tiplerini okuduk. Ben Ellie’yi

“Good, Sweetheart. Good. We’ll just forget this. It didn’t mean anything.”
I choked back the pain. “Right. It didn’t mean anything.”

descriptionYou’re like a brother to me. I would never do anything to hurt you. And I know I haven’t been what a brother would consider good material for his wee sister, but I love Ellie, Braden.
I have for a long time now, and I can’t not be with her. I’ve wasted too much time as it is.”
I don’t think either of us took a breath as we waited for Braden’s response. After a minute’s contemplation he finally turned to me, his gaze softening. “Do you love him?”
Adam looked back at me and I was surprised to find a glint of insecurity in his eyes. Silly man. I gripped his arm tighter to reassure him and then smiled at my brother. “Yes.”
And then quite casually, as if Adam and I weren’t tied up in knots over his possible reaction, Braden just shrugged and leaned over to switch on the kettle. “About bloody time.
You two were giving me a headache.”

It's been years since I read ON DUBLIN STREET by Samantha Young and I had a sudden envy to go back to this series. I don't know why I never kept reading it but I'm pretty sure I've been missing out big time.

UNTIL FOUNTAIN BRIDGE is a short sweet book about Ellie (Braden's little sister) and Adam (Braden's best friend), I remember them from ON DUBLIN STREET and I absolutely loved reading about them and Samantha Young found the perfect way to tell their story.

I loved the idea of learning about them via Ellie's journals, it's super clever and quite romantic. I'd have loved for them to have a full novel but I guess I should be happy with this! And I am, don't get me wrong. It was a short read but an awesome one and it put a big smile on my face.

I just loved Ellie and her romantic side, it was so sweet and heartbreaking to read about her feelings for Adam. He is 7 years older than her so I completely understand why it took some time for them to get together and I loved Adam as well, it was frustrating to read about him rejecting her but since it was a novella, the frustration didn't last and holy hotness, what a sexy, but sweet, bastard he was!

I will definitely keep reading this series, I really don't know why I stopped in the first place but I'm glad Ellie and Adam gave me the opportunity to get back into it!

I loved Ellie in the first book so I was so excited to read more about her. Whilst I was definitely rooting for them to be together Adam frustrated me way too much with all the mixed signals he would send.

I think Samantha Young has a thing for making lovely wonderful female protagonists and male love interests that simply are not good enough for them.

Nonetheless it was rather sweet in many places and I enjoyed reading it.

“You should know,” I murmured softly, “That it all comes back to you.”

Until Fountain Bridge in the story of sweet, wonderful Ellie Carmichael and her brother Braden’s best friend, Adam Sutherland.

I just loved Ellie in On Dublin Street she is a terrific character who has been crushing on Adam since her childhood.

The story is told through passages in Ellie’s diaries and Adam sees the depths of Ellie’s love for him and the heartbreak he caused her most of her life.

Adam takes the role of protector and friend to his best friend’s little sister very seriously. Was I fan of Adam? NOOOOO!!! He sent her so many mixed signals, leading her on and off throughout this story.

Sadly, we know from Dublin Street what position Ellie had to face for him to man the hell up and go for a life with Ellie. I liked Ellie so much that I wished someone would have swept her off her feet so Adam could be miserable for all eternity.

    description

You get the picture, big fan of Ellie…not a fan of hurting her and yourself for Braden’s sake.

Adam sees the light and the ending was sweet and swoon worthy.

Thanks for finally waking up Adam!

”He clamped a large hand down on mine as I moved to lift the diaries. I glanced up at him and he shook his head with a small smile. “It's painful to read how my stupidity hurt you at the time, but I like being inside your head. I like knowing that while I was struggling with the fact that I had fallen in love with my best friend’s little sister, she loved me back more than I could ever hope to deserve.”

Once again, great job Samantha Young!

An On Dublin Street novella by Samantha Young telling Ellie and Adam's story.

    US cover:

    UK cover:

BLURB --> Ellie Carmichael had a crush on Adam Sutherland, her brother, Braden’s, best friend, for years, and although Adam treated her with proprietary concern he made it clear he thought of her only as a little sister.

    2.5

It's a short story of Ellie and Adam. I wasn't that interested but decided to try it anyway.

It was cool to see their friendship and then how they slowly became lovers. Overall, it's good.
