Clive Barker's The Thief of Always 3 Reviews
-
All in all, this was a passable comic series. It doesn't add anything to the book it was adapted from. I don't mean to take anything away from this, but maybe me reading it so closely after reading the book was a bad idea. Maybe.

I read an omnibus volume that contained all 3 issues of this, so I've decided to review them all together here!
I loved every second of this comic. This was another of my "unread physical books on my actual bookcases that have been there for years and years" (I used to buy cheap books at book sales a lot, but never actually read them), and most of those have been complete busts so far, so my expectations are at pretty much ankle height, but this time I was so pleasantly surprised!
I haven't read the actual book so I can't speak about how accurate the adaptation is to the source material, but I personally enjoyed this very, very much. I liked the story, I LOVED the art style, I liked the twists and turns of the story (although this awkwardly reminded me of Coraline quite a bit, and I say "awkwardly" because Coraline came out 10 years AFTER the Thief.... yikes?).
This is one physical book that I'll be happy to keep on my bookcase. -
Will try to review these soon!

I read an omnibus edition of this graphic novel that contained all three volumes, so my review of the first volume will cover all three.

Honestly, I did not care for that ending.
