Backstage Pass (Big Girl, #1) Reviews

  • Genney Blass

4 stars. This book was very unique. Like the idea of a Big Girl with a Rock Star, very nice.

  • Amanda

This was a great start to this series...I have a thing for rock star novels like this and so far this one has NOT disappointed me at all.

Julian Bremmer is the lead guitarist in a band and has obvious insecurities and demons. He turns to alcohol to ease his thoughts when music can't help.
Shannon is a big girl and has SO many insecurities with her weight, but I must say I LOVE her gay friend Jason...he is so good for her self confidence. I'm eager to start reading book 2 in this series I can't wait to see what happens not only with Shannon and Julian but I want to know where Jason took off to backstage..

Okay I felt the need to add this here because this book coincides with the short story Wilder Sides, which is Jason and Alex's story and what happened between them during the night of the concert.
Now I had no idea that there was a book for these two until I saw it on the authors website as it is not listed anywhere on Goodreads. I was so happy to see these two get at least a short story in there. Whether there is more to their story ahead in this series I guess I will find out, but I must say I'm kind of mad there is no listing for Wilder Side on Goodreads.

I want the next instalment already!

  • Arlene

3.5 Stars, My only complaint is that I wish these weren't a bunch of novelas.

  • Skylar

A curvy h and no manho rockstar?? Sign me the heck up!!

So I'm gonna do one review for all five books, because why not.😆

This is Shannon and Julian's story. Being a famous guitarist for a world famous band, Julian has always struggled with alcohol issues and he's never keen on hooking up with the groupies. He wants someone to love him for his heart and not for his money/fame.
Shannon is a college student, who have had her fair share of heartbreaks and has some issues regarding her weight. She wins a lottery with her friend and they together goes to see the Band.

Backstage Pass (Big Girl #1): 3.5 stars.
It's really refreshing to see a rock star not giving a sh*t about the fame and money. I like how Shannon throw away her insecurities and went with the flow. But the ending was kinda abrupt. Well Aash, it's a 66 page book after all.

Going on Tour (Big Girl #2): 3.75 stars.
I like how Julian realised his mistake and quickly apologized Shannon. I can already see the love he has for her.

Rocking In The Sunshine (Big Girl #3): 3 stars.
Whoa... Easy there Julian. She's yours and only yours.

Playing In Paris (Big Girl #4): 3 stars.
I had more expectations for Julian. But the struggles with alcohol are real. I like how the author showed us the real picture even it is ugly. Anyway, I knew he would never hook up with anyone. He is in too deep with Shannon for that.

Proposal In Paris (Big Girl #5): 4 stars.
I love thisssss.... Nice theme, nice ending, nice everything.
I wish I could see more of thier future. But that's just my hopeless romantic side speaking.

Overall it was a quick and fun read.

Definitely part of a serial. Just a little too short to have much story. But a seems to be a fairly decent intro. Enough to interest me in reading the next installment, and possibly all the rest.

  • Beauty and the Book

What a tease, if your looking into this series i would highly recommend buying the set of all in one. If not your going to be disappointed after each one cause youll only want more!

Such a great short story following Shannon, a college student studying photographer who has an obsession with the band Wilder Side. When one of her bestfriend wins backstage passes to their concert shes over the moon.

Insert Julian bands lead guitarist and resident train wreck. He sees Shannon backstage and is drawn to her from first site.

Love the book, but was so sad when i got to the last page, but this story gets to be complete...just follow the series!

When i first got book one was free on amazon

  • Lyn

A promising good start of a book. This is not even a complete book just 1/4 of the whole book...All this is, is a tease for more. If you're like me that wants to finish what you started you want to get the next one. Good thing it's free because paying .99 cent for part of a whole book is just highway robbery.

This kind of writing is just to get you hook so you'll pay next then another one. You don't realize once you get to the ending of the book you pay more than you think the book cost. Good market strategy.

It was a cool and easy to read book. A nice sequel to Backstage Pass. I liked the characters, I liked the vibe between Shannon and Julian and I liked the fact that she wasn't dwelling on her image issues all the time. I liked her as a character. Julian has his demons and we see them develop in the next stories, but I liked how Rose shows them to us here as hints.

It was so easy to read the one hundred and so pages seemed like 40 to me.

  • Book Junky Girls

Great start to a series. You get introduced to Shannon who's a big girl but with the help if Julian she get a look at the beauty she really is. Julian has his demons but I loved how he took care of Shannon and helped her see herself as he saw her. Neither are perfect but they each see the other as the amazing person they are

Excited to see how this story plays out.

  • Missy

Was a good SHORT story. I of course was sucked in so I of course bought the next one. Well read my review of part 2.

The story is good, but rushed, and they are very short. The first book is free (of course to get you hooked) the other three are .99 each. That makes what should be just one book $3-4 depending on how you look at it. Not worth that.

  • Lisa

Read as part of the complete box set. Really enjoyed these short stories, liked the characters, Julian and Shannon, including the supporting cast! Some lovely sweet moments and a few heart wrenching ones....but all leading to a HEA. Quick, sweet read.

  • Linda

This is a BBW erotic romance that I'm really looking forward to reading the others in this series. I love loves that have BBW in them and this one doesn't disappoint! This is also my first book by Aubrey Rose but it will not be my last.

  • Deborah

    Who Is The Needy One

This young lady has insecurities multiplied. But Julian isn't exactly stable but he knows she's special. They see something in each other. This is an entertaining well done read. Enjoy I did.

  • Erica

    Short

Okay story was disappointed that it was only a few chapters long.

Not much character or story development.

    The sexy scenes are hot.

All up an okay quick read, but I needed more to make me want to carry on with the series.

  • Crazy for Books (Stephanie)

Eh! it was okay. Nothing to get excited about.

  • Amber Detjens

It was a good read, I'll be reading the rest of this series, but it felt as if I've already read it. Are all BBW romance wrote the same way?

  • Tracey

A short, and sexy story about an attractive plus size woman who snags the hot rock star.

  • Sofía

Loved it!!! can't wait to see what happens next... so, I'm reading it now ;)

  • Lauren Seiberling

Oh my gosh. Julian is PERFECT! I love how REAL Shannon is. And I love her sense of humor! I'm staring the next book and I cannot WAIT to see how this story ends!!!

  • Vonetta

Loved it, excited to read the next book.

  • Kathryn Parry

Okay another series. Same type of formula as most erotica but not a bad start to the series.

  • Holly Letson

This one was kind of a letdown. I may try one more from this series, but will probably end up dropping it.

  • BlebeTanja

What a weird ending. Not the content, just that... It was 40 pages and it ended ... It just ended. There was no... There was... Eh, I'm confused. Off to 2nd book I go..

  • Gerri

and yet another to be continued.

  • Liz

A short fun story, looking forward to the next instalment.

  • Ashlee

Bummed this is a novella. I need a full novel

  • Michele Lovegood

Instant sex without even much of a conversation. I imagined more personality than actually existed in these characters. I want to like it, so I made myself like it, but it really needs a whole lot more actual story.
