Whew! "Father" John is one sexy sadist!

An incredibly quick read, in about 40 or so pages, Nikki Sex doesn't waste any time at all. The story begins in the midst of an emotionally-charged, intense scene, grabbing your attention from the opening line. With each page turned, I only became more intrigued with the mysterious and haunted John.

Apparently, he has piqued the interest of a plethora of admirers, both male and female, gaining notoriety as a legendary Dom in a local BDSM club. It is there that he becomes the object of Kelly's desire. Always watching from afar, she is equal parts infatuated and terrified of the mysterious sadist.

With tastes that are far more mild than the pain that John expertly inflicts with ease, Kelly has never entertained the possibility that she could be his sub. When a chance encounter pushes these two together at last, things start warming up fast!

I am dying to see where this story is going! I anticipate that Kelly will be re-examining her sexual boundaries pronto!

Even though this is a short story all the characters are well developed and likable lovable. I first met Andre Chevalier in
Amy's Forbidden Fantasy as Sir and I was intrigued by him then. Even though John Taylor stole the show for me in this story, Andre Chevalier is still in the back of my mind.

    Well done
    Nikki Sex!

Please note, I read this as part of the Bound & Freed Boxed Set.

This was a very interesting and captivating novel. I’m still thinking about it days later.

The author develops some amazingly vivid scenes throughout this novel. These scenes weren’t necessarily even erotically based (although those were definitely there as well). There was mystery, suspense, heartbreak, and relationship drama galore. She keeps the novel intense without it becoming vulgar or garish. There is a stark contrast between the prayers to God and the subject matter that heightens this intensity. I really appreciate how the author approaches the world of BDSM. She does so with tact and class. She also approaches it in such a manner that you realise how much there is to this world, and what it really means to those there. She introduces you to the scene in a positive manner that you can’t help but be captivated by. She explains some terms and practices common to the scene so that unfamiliar readers can get into the story. She does so very tactfully and without breaking the overall flow of the story.

This story was very intriguingly written, even if the writing did become a little disjointed at times. Amazingly enough, this added to the mystique of the novel. There are times when the author uses the same phrases and thoughts repeatedly. Although disconcerting at the beginning it really adds to the character development. The shortened sentences and small issues with grammar also become superfluous. In most other works I’d say that the novel needs to be re-edited. In this one, it adds so much to the story that I was very surprised.

I enjoyed how the author develops her characters. She doesn’t dump a pile of information on her readers all at once. Rather, she gives small glimpses into the past to provide understanding into the present and the future. It gives insight into the characters and more depth to the story. The large variety of character types who interact with each other gives a very unique perspective of the world as a whole, as well as the world of BDSM. She combines this world with real and heart wrenching relationship issues that make you feel for and want to help out these brilliant characters.

I also really appreciate the symbolism behind the title of this boxed set. Not only does it apply to the subject matter at hand, but also to more than one character. That’s all I’ll say about this. Read the novels and you’ll find out.

My overall impression? Whether you’re a Dom, a Sub, or neither, this series makes you re-evaluate what’s important in your life.

Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review.

What's not to love... this was an intense, erotic, well developed story that leaves you on a cliff begging for more. It was a tease for sure to get you sucked into the series (which I will read all of now) but even knowing I was being played with, I loved it. John Taylor "Father John" has a distance you want to crack and a mystery you want to solve which makes for the best kind of hero. As for our heroine Kelly, she's smart and strong and knows what she wants in a man, but her inability to confront her obsession for John makes her endearing and relatable. I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes BDSM erotica or dark sensual mystery.

"Young, dumb, and full of cum."

Bound is the first short story in the André Chevalier novel. The story begins with John Taylor, a man who is so deeply damaged; needing help from André to feel again. Fast forward four years we learn than John Taylor has become a very sought after powerful Dom, every sub wants him to master their body and show them bliss. He is known as “Father John” because he has ways to make you want to confess all your sins.
"no tattoos, no piercings, no sex - Father John seemed as pure as fresh fallen snow. And the man didn't even kiss!"

Kelly suffers from "Fatal Female Flaw." It's when ordinarily sensible women fall madly in love with an unattainable man who can't, or won't love them back. I also call it the Triple Fucked Factor.” She loves watching him, the intensity and the devotion he shows each and every sub. She knows that there is future for them, because he has to notice her first to even begin any future and his brand of punishment is a little too extreme for her tastes, but that all changes when the lights go out in the elevator ….
"Distraction is the only thing that will work in a situation like this,"

Bound was a little tease, leaving off in a cliff hanger making you want more, there are many unanswered questions about John, but his mystery is working for him. We don’t really see the reclusive André in the story, and the beginning with John only leaves me with more questions. It was a super short read, but I am curious enough to continue.

This is one of those tricks where they rope you in with a free book & then it ends right at the good part. But oh man, I'm roped in for sure - I just bought Freed, the second book! In the beginning we meet John Taylor, a young Dom in training who has some emotional baggage from his past & can't let go of his desires sexually unless it is with someone he completely trusts. Years pass & we find Kelly in the sex club, and although she is intrigued by the Dom/sub relationship & participates in the process, she is not interested in the pain involved with being John Taylor's sub. He is in demand for his type of whipping expertise & has earned the nickname Father John - apparently he puts his customers into a subspace of pleasure & extreme pain where they confess their sins & let go completely, ending with John forgiving them. Kelly worships John Taylor from afar since she isn't into the kind of pain he inflicts & also because John does not actively participate in the process. He is completely clothed & untouched in his relationships, only providing a small kiss after he is done. But the book ends with a power outage & John and Kelly trapped in the elevator. Kelly has a fear of confined spaces & starts to have an anxiety attack. John knows just how to calm her down but dang, we don't get to read just how he is going to do that. Very intriguing book!

So being an author is a business.. I get this.. I understand that for some this is a job, this is a way you earn money to write more books and pay your bills.. 9 times out of 10 I am more than happy to fork over my measly spending cash to pay for books...It's usually worth it and I am almost always a happy girl..

    HOWEVER... Yup.. Here's my but

This book blows. And this book takes a dollar from me and is 50 freaking pages. Do you know how long it takes this book nerd to read 50 pages?? An hour to 2 hours IF that.. So when I see raving reviews, I assume I can't go wrong..

    I went very wrong here...

First of all, it wasn't even all that hot. I wanted to see the H and h together and they don't talk until the last few pages of the book.. Which I then found out is because the author took what could be one great novel and botched it into a bunch of novellas, and it doesn't work that way.. It made me annoyed and I wouldn't pick up the others..

Because reading about the others showed me that each and everyone one is a bunch of garbage.. a little hot for a page or 2 and then you have to wait until the next book for more..

No, I won't do that.. I will save my money and spend it on authors who give me meat and not freaking grass to live off of..

    Sorry..

    (Book #1)

Kelly Flynn has a huge crush on John Taylor (The Basement's most dangerous, sexy, lusted after Dom). But Kelly fears and is turned on by his torturous tactics. She would never do the stuff that she sees his submissives doing. Or would she. Many of his subs tell her it is a spiritual act that they cannot explain.

After a fun night at The Basement with Dom Ron and after viewing a very interesting show starring John Taylor Kelly leaves for the night. Only those plans are interrupted by a power outage that leaves her trapped in the elevator with John Taylor. Kelly is claustrophobic and on the verge of a panic attack. She fears the darkness, tight space and John Taylor himself. This part 1 ends with John trying to help Kelly through her fear with distraction. FUN

--My take so far is the story is interesting with John's past and I hope we learn more of that story and the man himself. Don't know much of BDSM world only what is in the books I have read thus far but it is a temperature riser so far. You feel the pull to John and his ALPHA MALENESS. --

Another great book from Nikki Sex.

Man oh man, I can't wait to read the next book in this series. You are left with, "oh man, what's going to happen next."

You meet John Taylor, who is a Dom, but becoming the Dom he is now, took a lot of training, a lot of trust and a lot of patient from the person who trained him, to be able to break down his walls.

You meet Kelly Flynn who is a submissive. She is out spoken, well liked and can't figure out what she wants. She knows, she wants John Taylor, but that can't ever happen, she thinks.

When these two get stuck together, Kelly is going to learn things about herself, that she doesn't think she'll do.

Oh man, I can't wait to continue to read about Kelly and John.

  • Erin Baker

If I could give it negative stars, I'd give it at least 3.
I was right. This book sucked. It was cheap and really only was looking for a shock value. Total suckage. Seriously.

The plot was... oh wait, there really wasn't a plot. It's also set up as a teaser to 5 other books... I'm assuming like this one, where there are basically just a few chapters. I have absolutely no desire to read the rest of these books.

How could I know if I identified with any (or either) of the characters? You gave me like a chapter at most describing these people, except for what they wore (or didn't wear).

Time in my life I'll never get back.

**ARC exchanged for an honest review**

    I loved this series!
I was hooked an invested in the characters (John and Kelly) from the very first book.
Who doesn't like a damaged hero??

This series was sexy, erotic and, at times, heart-wrenching.
Nikki Sex makes character development look easy. Her story flows, she has a great writing style and plot.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes grit with their erotica.

    Get this series...right now!

  • Crazy for Books (Stephanie)

I didn't actually hate it, but I didn't like it. I don't like novellas like this. It said a whole lot of nothing. I didn't move deep enough into the story for me to want any more. I don't like doing this because I respect writers for what they do and putting themselves out there. But I don't like this and I don't care to read the rest of the series.

    Bound:

Starts out in a BDSM room with a female Dom and her "sub". She is trying to get him off so bad and he just won't cum. She is stopped by the mega Dom of this club Andre walks in and tells her to stop. Andre notices that this "sub" isn't any normal sub it is his portage and he is stopping himself from liking it because he is hurt by losing this chick named Brenda.

Then your introduced to a "sub" wanna be named Kelly. She has been going to this club for a while because she wants to be a sub for someone but no one is paying attention to her. Then Kelly and a few of the other subs are talking about this Dom god named John Taylor or Father John as most people know him and of course Kelly is turned on by stories.
When Kelly blushes her WHOLE body turns red and she is easily embarrassed by it.
Father John puts on a hell of a show and the book makes it feel so realistic that it is kind of scary!
Kelly has a huge thing for Father John but one night she gets some time with him because of date breaking the elevator and at first all she could do was scream, cry & totally freak out! Typical girl, but I can understand because the way that Father John is wrote in this book, he scares me and I enjoy some kink myself but he is hot...

At the end Kelly finds herself facing a fear with the hottest man alive!!

This is a fast read but it is amazing!

"In a clinical, dispassionate tone he added, "So I'm going to make you come."
Nice way to end the book!!

Kelly Flynne has a major crush on John Taylor, the mysterious and seriously hot Dom she has been drooling over from afar at The Basement bdsm club. Then the power goes out, and she is trapped in an elevator with him--in the dark...

Bound is not a short story because it lacks any closure or resolution. It is a short serial episode--a piece of the story. If you want, you can wait a while and then purchase the next piece of the story that will no doubt have another unresolved cliff-hanger ending (so that you will buy another, etc.). This type of series seems a lot less about telling a good story than it does about generating sales dollars. No, thank you.

It is possible to write serials that still have some resolution and can stand alone, but that is not the case with Bound.

For an example of a COMPLETE steamy short story that draws you in and make you want to come back for more, check out

I received this book from a friend. She has been SCREAMING at me for MONTHS to read this book. She gifted me a copy and hoped I would read it sooner then later but I have been swamped. So since I have my TBR list cleared off I promised her to read HER (see I remembered you claimed him) John Taylor.

This is a SUPER short intro to the series and characters. It lets you the reader in on the sad life of John Taylor and the sadness of his heart in the begining.

The rest of the book is learning about the now famous Dom named Father John. He is THE DOM of the area. Subs flock to him in the club and each one loves to submit for him. He will not have any kind of "relations" with the subs and noone knows why. Well our sub Kelly is in DEEP Lust over him but never gets to play with John. He is a bit to harsh for her tastes.

Well a brief encounted in an elevator when the power goes our leaves her and John alone together with nothing else to do but......................................

Cannot wait to read more of the series to see what becomes of the innocent sub and the demanding dom.

This is the beginning of a series and a very short read. Unfortunately, there is a cliff hanger. The story begins with a serious tortured soul.... John. He suffered abuse as a child and eventually ended up with his aunt whom he grew to love and trust. She dies and to deal with it, he locks his emotions down. At the request of his aunt, he is training to become a Dom. Andre, the Master Dom who runs The Basement (this is the place where John is training) was a good friend of the aunt. He realizes John emotional damage and works him through it. We then jump to "Father John", a extremely controlled and serious Dom who delivers extreme pain to achieve extreme pleasure. In walks Kelly, submissive. She enjoys dabbling in the kink, light spanking to bring orgasm. She has a serious crush on Father John, but is terrified of him and his pain. Circumstances bring them together, alone, in a tight spot. Will Kelly's fear of the big bad Dom stop her from gaining pleasure at his hand? Need to read the next book to find out!

I was actually really excited to read this series. I have the whole box set on my Kindle, but opted to just try the first one to see if it was for me. Most of the time, BDSM books are right up my alley, and I especially like ones that feature realistic play. But this... I was actually bored reading the first installment in the Bound and Freed box set. So bored that I skipped whole pages because I couldn't read another paragraph about how awesome John's body was or how amazing he was at being a Dom. It was a lot of info-dumping for me. A lot of gushing about the main character... Let me judge how sexy and amazing he is by showing me him, not telling me about him through secondary characters. I dunno. It just really grated on me. Plus the rampant use of unnecessary commas.

I don't think I'll be continuing with the rest of the box set. I'm glad there are lots of fans out there, but this wasn't for me.

A short review for a even shorter book!

"Bound " by Nikki Sex is the first book of the André Chevalier BDSM Stories series. A book that starts directly in the middle of the something which doesn´t really give the reader a chance to literally "bound" with the story.

We have to be aware that this is a short story with just around 40 pages, so expecting a complete background story would be just not fair.
Still a bit more information would have been helpful.

I am pretty sure that if this would be a full-length novel, I would have enjoyed reading this book more. I couldn´t connect witht he main character as I simply had no time to get to know her. The basic story-line is very interesting, but for me simply not deep enough.

Still, finishing this book was worth it.

I love Nikki Sex's books because they are so raw and different. Bound is no exception and how can you not want to continue reading the series when the very last line to this is "so, I am going to make you come." This said by a Dom who is stuck in an elevator with a sub and he says it so matter-of-factly with no emotion...he is just saying it the way it is! He is going to do this just so he can stop her anxiety of being stuck in the elevator with him.
We were introduced to John Taylor (the dom) and Kelly Flynn (the sub) and given a little of their backstory. She has a huge crush on him and ends up stuck in an elevator with him. I can't wait to see where this story will go from here.

    I also loved this line:

"Educating the mind without educating the heart was no education at all"- Andre Chevalier.

    OmFREAKINGg!!!!!!

this book definitely had me from beginning to end. I had no idea that the characters in this book are also in another book I've just finished from this author called fate, I love how she intertwined her characters in her books BRAVO Nikki Sex, your writing is truly amazing in this story as well as the other two books of yours I've just finished. I only wish that this story was in one book instead of multiple books. that's the only negative for me other than that the books writing was so intense at Times I almost stopped breathing at some points it was crazy, I'm definitely on a high from reading these books by this author!! AWESOME,AWESOME story and series.

  • Kimber

This book was amazing. It was fast paced and intense. Only issue is i wish that it had been longer.

Kelly is a great heroine. She is beautiful, independent, strong, and knows what she is looking for in a man. Though she has not been able to confront her object of obsession you can't help but root for her. and she becomes even more endeared to the reader when they learn a little about her past

John is the typical male any woman may fantasize about. He is strong, dominate, confident, and HOT as all hell. We learn a little about his past and get to see him in action. You can't help but want a piece of him too.

I cannot wait to read the next four in this series. Nikki is ine hell of a writer. I just hope that she has some longer works so I dont read them in a matter of hours.

  • Shari

For mature 18+ readers only. Also be warned that this book contains bdsm. I think this is what is considered a serial. Which if I understand correctly is a series of short books that come out pretty close together until they equal the length of a full size novel. I have to admit I don't think I like that whole idea. I would rather have a whole book to read at once rather than having to wait. I'm likely to forget what was going on or completely forget to even get the next part of the story. Cliffhangers are bad enough.
That being said I was getting into the story well enough. It was pretty hard core though so if you don't enjoy reading about bdsm clubs then this probably isn't the book for you.

  • Charlene

This was a very short (about 40 pgs) introduction to the Bound and Freed series featuring Andre Chevalier...uber-Dom. Kelly has had a crush on John Taylor, the sexy but extremely unavailable and very popular Dom from her BDSM club. After spending a night at the club and watching part of a scene he is doing Kelly finds herself stuck in an elevator with John - and her fear of small dark spaces kicks in. Can I just say that with the "diversion" he offers her - hell yeah...I'll get stuck in an elevator with you John! I'll definitely be continuing this series - how could I not, with this enticement?

  • Kat

I understand why the first book in the series is free to hook you but this one doesn't.

I love Nikki Sex books and have read a few now but this one just didn't grab me. I was glad I brought the rest of the series as it is awesome but the first book lets it down I feel.

The Basement is a BDSM club, where people come to forget about real life.

John Taylor is a Dom at the Basement. He is a sexy young man who is a deeply damaged soul.

Kelly Flynn is a sub at the Basement who is so attracted to John Taylor but John doesn't know she is alive.

I would recommend this series but read all of them.
