ENJOYED meeting this author at book signing. (Scott twp annual book fair) Very nice lady. E-book less pricey than soft copy. Sold to me for half the price than barnes and noble. She explained that publishers hike the price like that and its not fair to the readers/children.
A genuinely cool person and she gave us posters, book markers, etc. Chloe's a bit too old for the book but she did want it anyway and reads it to my neice (who loves this story). We WILL purchase the E-books for the next two in the series, but overall, a colorful book thats well written and funny. Thumbs up to this local author! -
The young animals and creatures of Cackleberry Creek are enjoying a beautiful spring day when a thunderstorm creates a serious situation for Manny the mosquito. Little Lulu the frog is his only hope.
Award winning authoress, Kristy Jo Volchko’s Cackleberry Creek Series is four books that entertain young children while giving them inspiration to love themselves (regardless their individual abilities or lack thereof) and to be compassionate toward others. I’ve read all four in the series, albeit in reverse order, and I read them often to my youngest grandson who absolutely loves them. In fact, no other stories can cause him to sit still long enough to finish... if that’s not a recommendation for the exceptional writing and illustrations, together with the magnetism of these stories for young children; nothing is! -
I recently bought Kristy Jo Volchko's book, Frogs Can Fly, and it has become the go-to book for my granddaughter. I visit my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter several times a week either in person or by Zoom and we always end our visit with a story. She asks for Frogs Can Fly. I believe it's because the storyline is very relatable to children, as it's about a mother, her child, questions kids like to ask, and about friends and neighbors in the frog neighborhood. The illustrations by Yorris Handoko are fabulous, such rich colors! I believe it's the whole package that draws her in. I highly recommend this book!

Excellent story and beautiful illustrations! I love how it shows children that we need to see our own talents are just as important and special as everyone else’s. It’s the perfect length to keep children engaged but not too long to lose them. I don’t think that would happen anyway with the rich colors and adorable characters. This is a great book for gifts, classrooms, grandchildren and bedtime reading. Beautifully done!
