When Ryan’s life comes crashing down, can the hottest nurse he’s ever met help put it back together again?
It started out the happiest day of Ryan Johnson’s life. At breakfast, his long-time boyfriend Craig accepted his proposal that they enter a civil partnership, and in the afternoon he’s making a parachute jump—a surprise organised by his new fiancé. But when his chute fails to open, experienced skydiver Ryan finds himself in the hospital, in traction and not going anywhere for a while…and everything starts to fall apart.
High-maintenance Craig doesn’t seem to want to be there for him anymore, but down-to-earth Luke—the hottest male nurse Ryan has ever seen—is determined to help him make a full recovery…and maybe even win his heart in the process...
'Please, Doctor' by Serena Yates
Patrick McNeill is obsessed with doctors. A serious-looking man in a white coat gets him hot enough to do...anything to please the physician.
Doctor Russell Walters is a successful emergency physician at the Royal Winkham Hospital during the day…and an occasional expert for a medical fetish club at night. He's only doing his best friend and club owner a favour—until he sees Patrick walk into their pretend clinic. The gorgeous brunet who casts shy glances at him inspires Russell to put his best bedside manner forward. Suddenly he is the one who wants to play doctor!
The 'medical examination' that follows is definitely not authentic—but who cares when both participants find more satisfaction in one another's arms than either thought possible…
Reader Advisory: This book may be hazardous to your health! Do not read if allergic to any of the following: unauthorized use of medical equipment, misappropriated procedures, or a significant dose of kinky sex between an extremely hot physician and his very eager patient.
'Roley's Wood' by A.J. Llewellyn
When Dr Jack Hanrahan set out for a much needed vacation, he had no idea his life would forever change on a remote biking trail in Roley's Wood…
Jack Hanrahan is a California surgeon taking a brief cycling vacation with friends in Edinburgh, Scotland. A woman's scream shatters his peaceful ride in the recently cleaned up Roley's Wood.
He and his best friend, Paul, a heart surgeon, race towards the sound. They find a woman lying on the ground, clinging to life, an arrow sticking out of her body. Jack and Paul have no way of knowing that she disappeared weeks ago and has been the subject of a huge manhunt. They try to help her, working on her frantically until they are able to call for help but by the time they reach the hospital, it's too late.
In the confusion, they realise whoever fired at her must have been an onlooker because the arrow Paul took out of the victim is missing. How could they have not noticed the killer sneaking back to remove it?
The case soon lands in the procurator fiscal's hands. Jack has never heard of this but soon finds that the man in question is the very sexy public prosecutor Brodie Shaw, who promptly asks Jack for help in the twisty mystery as they begin to fall in love with each other…
'Love Without Borders' by Sara York

'Trusting the ER Doctor's Heart' by Noelle Keaton

As their love develops, Kyle begins to put the past behind him and focus on his burgeoning relationship with Trent.
Trent, who has been drawn to Kyle ever since he first laid eyes on him, can hardly believe the handsome and sophisticated physician would give him a second glance, much less return his feelings. Coming from a modest background, Trent wonders if he’s in the same league as Kyle and if their relationship can go the distance. When Kyle’s former lover surfaces with allegations that cause Trent to question Kyle’s true feelings and motivations, it is up to both men to take stock and decide whether theirs is a love worth fighting for, a love worth trusting in...
Emergency Servicing Anthology Reviews

Once again, the thought of beautiful firefighters, EMT's, nurses, and ER doctors, those men employed in high-stress, high-action jobs, got my blood pumping and mind all worked up to read this anthology dedicated just to these specific professions, even with my loosely enforced rule of "No Anthologies." (You never enjoy them Gigi. You are never satisfied and rarely do you ever even like even one of the stories in the compilation.) Unfortunately, this anthology was no exception. The stories were too short to garner any of my interest or draw me in.
I was planning on listing each short story from this anthology separately and rating them one by one, but there really is no point. None of them stood out as better or worse than the other. I wish I had better news, I really do, because I love short stories when they are done well and are able to hit you with a bunch of emotion quickly and somehow get you to care about the characters after four or five pages.
Emergency Servicing didn't contain any of those kinds of stories for me.
I can only recommend this book for those M/M romance firefighters/EMT/nurse/doctor junkies who aren't real picky about their short stories and just want to be immersed in the genre. Otherwise, there is a lot more out there to chose from that is better worth your time. -
Out today, 4 March 2013! A great collection of stories about emergency workers and the men they fall in love (or lust) with. Yes, one of the stories is mine. "Please, Doctor" is about Patrick, who is obsessed with doctors... A serious-looking man in a white coat gets him hot enough to do…anything to please the physician.
And, to celebrate the anthology, today only, all M/M titles are 25% off at
Total-E-Bound. -
I'm a big fan of the anthologies! I guess that's because I like short stories (often prefer them to the overly long novels) and I like to pick the books up based ot their thematic - firemen, cops, cowboys etc - you got the gist ;)
I really liked this one too. Some stories I enjoyed more, some a little less, but overall I think it's a solid collection and definitely worthy of my time. -
I found most of these stories just so-so. They were fun to read, but none really stood out as spectacular.
-
Amazing anthology. I enjoyed most of the stories. My favorites:
Down to Earth by Elizabeth Coldwell. Mostly because Craig grave me all kinds of emotions. They were all bad emotions but you know I love stories that get me emotional.
Doctor, Doctor by HL Holston & Eleanor Bruce - The whole don't ask, don't tell just plain pisses me off. Homphobia itself is bad but these men and women fight for the freedoms we all enjoy and sit on our asses to get. With all the other stresses they are under, we add another worry for hiding their love for another. This story went beyond the typical and was more a hiding loving someone beneath them in rank. -
Just a heads up... my husband is a Paramedic! *grin*
This book was a joy to read and only one story was a bit "meh"... as I was working my way through it, I realized that I had read Sara York's
Love Without Borders a while back... but, I did a quick re-read just because it was short and sweet!
Anthologies are great for many reasons and not the least of which is giving us a chance to give a new author a quick try! Picked up a couple "new" authors from this one and I am anxious to see what other books I can find by them! :D -
I rarely read anthologies because I don't usually enjoy them, however the theme of Emergency Servicing caught my attention. I'm glad I gave this a chance because I really enjoyed all of the stories; and as a nurse myself, I've seen my fair share of hottie doctors and EMTs (no cute male nurses yet though, darn). ;)

Rounded up from 3.75 Stars
This has a pretty nice assortment of low- med level angst. I think my favourites were Down to Earth, Roley's Wood and Trusting the ER Doctor. Please Doctor introduced me to someone having a doctor fetish, which was very ....interesting. -
EMERCENCY SERVICING is a great collection of stories about hot medical professionals working to save lives and find love.
In Down to Earth, we get to see how trauma can change someone we thought we knew into a totally different person. When Ryan gets injured in a skydiving accident, he finds the nurse working on his floor in the hospital is much more attentive and understanding than his fianc. The story is very sweet and genuine with the emotions of the characters well written.
Please, Doctor was fun and cute while exploring medical fetishes. Patrick has a thing for men in white coats, so much so he can't seek medical attention when needed. When he is referred to a "special clinic" for his problem, he thinks he is going there for treatment, not to have his fetish desires role-played. Russell usually serves as a medical consultant to the fetish club, but can't resist becoming more hands on when he sees Patrick.
Roley's Wood was a nice story about moving on and finding new love in unexpected places. Jack agrees to go on vacation with his ex-boyfriend, Paul, and Paul's new lover. He quickly realizes the vacation might be a mistake and is making plans to change things up when he gets pulled into the middle of a major police investigation. Jack meets the prosecutor handling the case, Brodie, and sparks fly!
Starting a relationship while working frantically in a busy Guatemalan clinic might not be ideal, but in Love Without Borders, we see it is possible. The strenuous and close conditions are what paramedic Jason and doctor David need to push them together. Steamy and sweet story about falling for someone is less than ideal circumstances.
Doctor, Doctor was one of my favorite stories in this collection. It explores the challenges of being gay in the military and relationships between different ranks. We also get to see the strain being in the closet can put on a relationship and a career. Ryker and Daniel have to figure out if they are prepared to put their relationship before their careers and if their families will be accepting of their choices. Very sweet.
Issues of age and social status are prominent in Trusing the ER Doctor's Heart. Kyle is a stable, successful ER doctor and Trent is the young, sexy paramedic that often delivers patients to him. When the two of them finally act upon their attraction to one another, they then have to deal with jealous ex-boyfriends, insecurities, and very different lifestyles while figuring out if they stand a chance at a relationship.
This was a great collection of short, steamy, and sweet love stories.

A group of cute stories about doctors. Each of the stories were super cute but really short.
Please Doctor ****
Patrick is obsessed with Doctors, he gets hot just thinking about lab coats and the equipment used. So meeting Dr. Russell is a great thing for his libido, but will they be able to find happiness together or will Patrick's obsession get in the a way of happy after. This story took a bit of a turn that I wasn't expecting. Reading the blurb, I expected the medical fetish club, but I wasn't expecting it to really resemble a hospital as much as it did.
Roley's Wood *****
Jack and his ex Paul, along with my Paul's new boyfriend are on vacation in Scotland, when they come across a women shot by an arrow, they do everything they can to save her, along the way Jack meets Brodie. I felt a little mislead by the blurb for this one, because they refer to Paul as his best friend, and while they might be friends, I'm not sure best friend is the term I would have used. Overall, the mystery in the story more than made up for that minor detail. Definitely a cute read that I would love to see expanded.
Love without Borders ***
Jason is a firefighter, while David is a doctor, they both secretly like the other but feel they are out of reach of the other, until a charity trip to Guatemala. If they can get past both of their insecurities. While I enjoyed the story, I didn't really feel a connection with the characters. It a cute story.
Doctor, Doctor ****
Daniel and Ryker have to hide their relationship, from everyone, since it could cause them to be discharged dishonorably from the military. Not because of DADT, but because of fraternization regulation. Until an accident has them reevaluating life. Overall, I enjoyed this brief look into life in the military. I loved the secondary characters as much as the main characters.
Trusting the ER Doctor ***
Dr. Kyle and Paramedic Trent have been circling around one another for a couple of months, each has trust issues. Kyle's ex makes the tenuous relationship even shakier. Can Kyle and Trent move past their trust issues to happiness with one another. Although it was a cute story, the relationship felt pretty rushed. For me there wasn't really enough character development. Overall, though it was nice story that could be expanded to make it even better. -
Please be aware that although I beta'd H.L. Holston & Eleanor Bruce's Doctor, Doctor and think it's fabulous, this review isn't based on that story. I decided to try out a new-to-me author or two, one of which was...
Sarah York and her Love Without Borders. I adored Jason's shyness with the older doctor, David. The waterfall scene was wildly romantic to me. 4.25 stars.
I also read Trusting the ER Doctor's Heart by Noelle Keaton, which piqued my interest because a member of my family is an ER doc. I had a few "you are sooooooooooo right" moments, and liked the arc of building trust between the two heroes as their relationship progressed. 3.5 stars.
I can't speak for the other stories in this anthology, but those two stories (and the one I beta'd and loved) are good, solid reads. If you're in the mood for sexy doctors, this antho certainly fits the bill. -
Another solid 3 star anthology. I enjoyed most of the stories, there were no real clunkers, but there were also no hidden gems in this series of short stories. I usually look for new authors to try out when I'm reading an anthology but there wasn't any story that really had me writting a note to myself to find more writings by anyone.
The stories were for the most part fairly good and if you enjoy doctors, nurses and a hot paramedic or two then you might like this collection.

2nd read - Nov 12, 2015 -
I liked some stories better than others but that is to be expected. It is one of the first Anthologies i read. For me the stories are to short. It´s a shame really because that way you don´t get to know the caracters.
It is however a great way to check out the different authors and to see if you like the wrtiting of a certain author.
I think these stories (because they are short) are great for reading in a train, when you are travelling or when you are waiting. -
3,5 stars. This anthology of stories about doctors, nurses,EMT is very a good read, stories all different, some funny, other romantic, but all exciting . I'm one fan of A J Llewellyn ,and I think that his story is nice and original especially because so short . While the more funny is certainly that by Serena Yates.

"Love Without Borders" by Sara York - 3 stars
"Doctor, Doctor" by HL Holston & Eleanor Bruce -
"Trusting the ER Doctor's Heart" by Noelle Keaton -
Will rate the last two once I read them ;) -
I liked most of the stories involved in this anthology, nothing that really stuck out per se, just a solid read throughout. When I read anthologies I try to look for new authors to try out but there wasn't really anything that grabbed my attention enough to take notice. A great read if your like reading about Doctors, Nurses, EMT, etc.
-
My averaged out score on these was 3.29.
As with most anthologies, a mixed bag, but generally I liked more than I didnt! I do like the doctor/hospital trope and on that, this book certainly delivered.
Will definitely reread some of these when I have 20 mins to spare -
favorites: 'Trusting the ER Doctor's Heart' by Noelle Keaton and 'Doctor, Doctor' by HL Holston & Eleanor Bruce.
-
If you only have time for one story read Serena Yates' 'Please, Doctor' 4 STARS.
3.5 stars for total anthology. Quick and enjoyable doctors stories. -
Really enjoyed these shorts.....x
