The Jungle Book (Marvel Illustrated) Reviews

Actually, this isn't a graphic adaptation of Kipling's entire book The Jungle Book, but rather of three Mowgli stories -- the first two chapters of The Jungle Book ("Mowgli’s Brothers" and "Kaa's Hunting") as well as one chapter from Kipling's sequel The Second Jungle Book ("How Fear Came").

Having said that, the adaptation is pretty good (with relatively realistic depictions of the animals). I recommend combining it with P. Craig Russell's
Jungle Book: Stories, which adapts three other Mowgli stories (and does an even better job graphically).

This was great. If you are a fan of the Rudyard Kipling Jungle Book stories it's worth checking out. Gil Kane is known for being good at illustrating animals and his art was remarkable. The only reason I didn't give this a higher rating is because it wasn't longer. I think they had a long term plan for adapting more stories but it just didn't pan out. If you think you'll like this one, you probably will.

Ricordo bene queste storie che apparvero in Italia all'epoca Marvel-Star Comics. Erano belle trasposizioni ben disegnate.
Di certo meritavano di essere raccolte in volume, ed anche se in Italia questo non si dovesse mai vedere il prezzo vale l'acquisto del volume originale in inglese.
    4 stelle e mezza.

Marvel did so well on developing, the jungle book has been nothing but excitement for me.

This is a great way to read the Mowgli stories from The Jungle Books. Honestly this graphic novel was faithful and as always great Illustrations by Russell. I have enjoyed ever Neil Gaiman adaptation he has done and I loved his work in this.
