John (Jammer) Thomas is not one of the good guys your parents want you to end up with. He's been on his own since he was seventeen, traveling from city to city, making enough money to survive by doing the only thing he's ever been good at.
Playing pool.
He's covered in tattoo's and has a mouth that would make a grandmother cry.

He doesn't do relationships.
He doesn't care about anyone besides himself.
He's a drifter.
A Hustler.

At first look, she's just a pretty little thing behind the bar, but Charlene (Charlie) is so much more.

After her parents died in a fire she was put into the foster care system. Thanks to her good grades and hard work, she earned herself a scholarship.

Feeling like she was finally going to make something for herself, she finds out she has inherited a bar and a kid brother, from a father she never even knew.

While she tries to manage her new life, people from her father's past come to collect old debts and threaten everything Charlie has left.

Can she really trust Jammer, or is he just helping her for what it pays out?

”I’ll play you for your heart.-J”

Charlie has had a fucked up life and just as she thinks she’s finally free, everything turns to shit all thanks to one letter...and Jammer, a cocky hustler, who shows up at her bar looking for an old friend
"…not that it’s any of your damn business, but my entire life has just been assfucked. I’ve been left a shithole bar by a father that I didn’t even know I had, and if that isn’t enough, I had to drop out of college because the bar came with a kid too.”

These two cracked me up, he loved to bring out the bitch in her
    “I’m Jammer.”
“What kind of name is that?” It sounded ridiculous
“It’s the name you’ll be calling out the next time you’re holding a shower head between your legs and wishing it was my mouth.”

    …………………………………………

”Look what the cat drug in.”
“If I were you, I wouldn’t mention pussy, unless you’re offering some.”

    …………………………………………

“Charlie, can you say one kind thing? I am starting to think that I am helping Satan’s daughter. It’s kind of creepy.”

There are secrets everywhere and everything begin to unravel, the unexpected happens, no longer being able to deny the bond that they share
“I didn’t believe in fate or stupid shit that couldn’t be explained, but knowing that I’d found Charlie and , it had to be some kind of divine intervention.”

Hustle Me totally sucked me in, it had a little bit of everything, two POV’s, a lead male that you want to throttle and kiss all at the same time, a cute sweet little boy, an evil villain, a girl you just feel for, secrets & mystery and sexual-playful banter….
“This perfect ass is what I dream about at night. I picture your plump lips around my dick and your titties bouncing all around my face. I wake up all hard and ready to fill you with my love juice.”
Her eyebrow cocked up and she shook her head. “Love juice?”
“Yeah, you know how it is. Stop denying your addiction to my penis. It’s not healthy to lie.”

The book never was boring that's for sure, the way each POV would change and switch left me hanging and I couldn’t put it down because I NEEDED to know what happens next. This was an impulse buy, and at first I was scared that I wasn’t gonna like it, but I was wrong, it was totally worth my impulse clicking!
    “It’s all about the Hustle.”

This was my first Jennifer Foor book and I can tell you it won't be the last. I really enjoyed the writing style and feel like she is a brilliant author. The words flowed seamlessly on the page and the story was like magic. I really liked this love story and can't wait for the next book to come out. A good read.

This book, was WOW from the beginning to the end. Loved Jammer and Charlie, how a unique this story was. How from different ways in the the world to person finally get united and still not knowing that they knew each from before. Jammer's dad, I want to Kill the MOFO, he was a Capital Ass from the beginning. Jammer had my heart, how cocky, funny and sarcastic he was but he loved Charlie aka Lena. Loved they way he told her, "What the hell you did to me, I can be with any other woman"? How funny when he ran from the room with the pool stick thinking that someone was in Charlie's room. His Mom, I wanted to ring her neck but they she finally smelled the dayum coffee. Ryan, what a cutie putie, I wanted to hug him and cry in his arm, when he say I love you Charlie, you are the best sister ever. When she found the Jar full of letters from her father and the letter he left for Jammer to find her, OMG, I wept. But thank fully at the end, things did work out the way it suppose to be. I was hurting for both of them Jammer and Charlie. TO Ms. Foor, a very well written novel, thank you to let us readers enjoy your book. I Applaud you and Bravo.

At about 50% the book started feeling rushed, the dialogue turned to cheese and the whole thing fell apart for me. Just wasn't worth my time really.

Not sure I'll try more by this author. Just couldn't seem to hold it together in a longer format.

You might like it. I did not. So, you may be happier reading it than I!

Ok so I kinda forgot I read this, until I just went to buy it again and amazon told me...

I'm pretty sure I liked it. So I'll go with 3.

“I came back to town to see an old friend who helped me when nobody else would. Let’s just say that I never found my friend, but I found something else even better. I found you, Charlie. I don’t have a damn reason why I want you, I just know I do.”

WOW this book left me with big tears and a smile on face! This is a beyond a HOT, Angst story that develops between two individuals.

Charlie is an amazingly strong character and the amount of crap she has had to deal with in her life, would make any person crumble, but she doesn't. She takes it all in stride and that is what makes her stick in your heart.

Charlie. Her name was Charlie. I think a smile came across my face before I knew what I was doing.

Jammer is that alpha male that grabs your attention from the first time you hear his name and you feel him through your whole body when he speaks.

    “I’m Jammer”
"What kind of name is that?" It sounded ridiculous.
"It's the name you'll be calling out the next time you're holding a shower head between your legs and wishing it was my mouth."

Jammer and Charlie are an amazing love story and together or not, they definitely can make you cry in pain, in happiness and for their love. Their sex was HOT, to the point you almost felt guilty reading it.

“What he was doing was so intimate to me, this wasn’t someone that just want to bang, and this was someone who was taking care of me. I’d never had that before and although it was amazing, it also scared the shit out of me.”

Watching their story develop you can’t help the attachment and you definitely can’t help the emotions. I wanted to fight for them, I wanted to stop the world around them and let them fix each other.

“Are you a witch or something? Did you put a bitch spell on me and make me go soft?” She giggled and shook her head. “Trust me, I’m not a witch, but if I was, I don’t think I would done a love spell on someone I couldn’t stand at first.”

LOVE IT!! I love an author that can write a alpha male that makes me blush and a heroine that makes me want to stand up cheer and be her best friend!! STANDING O for Jennifer Foor, this is going up there in my books of 2013, ABSOLUTE 5 STARS!!!

    “I feel like I can’t breathe.”
    “Call a Doctor.”

Yeah I thought I was going to need one!!

”I’ll play you for your heart.-J”

    HOLY FREAKING HELL!

I absolutely loved this story. At first the book cover didn't do much of an interest for me but when I read it, I was hooked! I love the plot, it was simple and every page kept me reading. I just couldn't seem to get enough of Jammer and Charlie.

Gotte love how these two banter though. Their non-stop innuendos and no filter mouth had me laughing while reading:

    “I’m Jammer.”
“What kind of name is that?” It sounded ridiculous
“It’s the name you’ll be calling out the next time you’re holding a shower head between your legs and wishing it was my mouth.”

    …………………………………………

”Look what the cat drug in.”
“If I were you, I wouldn’t mention pussy, unless you’re offering some.”

    …………………………………………

“Charlie, can you say one kind thing? I am starting to think that I am helping Satan’s daughter. It’s kind of creepy.”

    …………………………………………

“This perfect ass is what I dream about at night. I picture your plump lips around my dick and your titties bouncing all around my face. I wake up all hard and ready to fill you with my love juice.”
Her eyebrow cocked up and she shook her head. “Love juice?”
“Yeah, you know how it is. Stop denying your addiction to my penis. It’s not healthy to lie.”

I also adored Charlie's brother Ryan, he says the most cute things that actually make sense. I'm actually excited on whose on the next book. Whether it'll be another Jammer and Charlie story or a different character, I sure am going to read it!

    One Word : AMAZING

Will post full review once released :)

    2/20/2013

I was lucky enough to get an Advanced Copy of Jennifer Foor's new book Hustle Me. I was a little nervous at first because I love Jenn's Mitchell Family series and I was worried that Jammer (John) wouldn't live up to Colt and Tyler Mitchell. I am happy to say that he totally did. I LOVED Jammer, but for totally different reasons then the Mitchells. Jammer is an amazing BAD BOY. I was happy to see that Jenn is able to write many different types of Heroes. I was also impressed with Charlie, she is an amazingly strong person. The amount of crap she has had to deal with in her life, would make any person crumble, but she doesn't. She takes it all in stride and that to me makes a wonderful Heroine. This book is filled with so many things that I am not going to talk about it because I don't want to spoil anything for anybody. I went through many different emotions while reading this book and as I have said before....that makes for a WONDERFUL book.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of Jennifer Foor....You won't be disappointed!!!!!

  • Gbemisola

I read this book in one sitting, not because it was amazing and I couldn't stop reading. I just needed to get it over with. It wasn't horrible per se, I was just disappointed with the direction the story went. how it was written, the character's development and the emotion didn't communicate well with me.

With Charlie's back story, and the first couple of chapters (Jammers included) I expected this book to be a bit more gritty, instead it kind went all 'fluffy'. I personally think this was injustice to the characters. As for Jammer, I couldn't quite get a feel for his personality. There was just something lacking, can't put my finger on it!

The reasons for 'life shattering revelations' in this book was quite lame to be honest and just seemed pretty pathetic I couldn't take it seriously. It lacked conviction or even an ounce of 'justification' so to speak. The sex scenes were ermmm okay with the exception of one which included a billiards table!

I won't bang on about this book, it was okay to read and if you're bored give it a go. But it will never be at the top of my list of highly recommended books. It could have been better.

Like I said, read if you are bored.

  • Jessica (Angie & Jessica's Dreamy Reads)

2.5 Stars... started strong but lost me after a while.

I have to start by saying that despite my feelings about various aspects of the story, I was entertained. I read the book straight through and was never bored. The story started off strong, I loved the story line of Charlie having to leave college after dealing with this tragic history in foster care and uncovering secrets about her life... inheriting this bar and a brother, great. Loved that. I loved Jammer, being this pool playing player, literally, being taken by this mysterious bartender. I appreciate the mystery of their intertwining history... however there lies my problem. There wasn't much mystery. It was all pretty predictable. And where the climaxes should have been monumental peaks in the story line, they were more like blips on the radar. It was just all to easy. The build was lacking, I was missing the angst that was in the first half of the story. This was my first book by this author and I'll likely read more, but this was just ok for me.

  • Amy

Jammer." "What kind of name is that?" It sounded ridiculous.
"It's the name you'll be calling out the next time you're holding a shower head between your legs and wishing it was my mouth."

This is NOT your typical boy meets girl book. Jammer is anything but typical and he is DEFINITELY not a boy!

The first few chapters are background so it starts off a little slow but heats up fast when you get to their present day lives. Jammer has quickly become one of my favorite bad boys! He certainly has help fill the time while I wait on book 6 from Jenn Foor's Mitchell Series to come out.

  • Mel Bedford

I don't think that Jennifer Foor knows how to write anything but a 5 star book! Hustle Me was hot and sweet! It started out a little slow because of giving the reader all the background story, but by the fourth chapter I couldn't put it down! I can't wait for the next book! The other thing I love about Jenn's books is that every book is a complete story and even though I am waiting for the next book, she doesn't ever leave me hanging! I hate being left with angst and I never have to feel that way with Jenn's books. I love Jammer and Charlie and you will too!

  • CT

4.5 stars. This book has a refreshing feel to it and doesn't feel like a book that I've already read. We have Charlie who inherited a bar and a brother and Jammer, a pool playing tattooed hustler that's never settled down. Together there are some moments that shock, scare, grin and LOVE. The ultimate question is can Charlie trust Jammer?

"Love me or hate me, but either way you're still thinking of me, babe"

  • Donna ~ The Romance Cover

Jammer and Charlie...unlikely couple but inevitable..this was a fab romance story and I lapped it up..I felt for both of them, they were both broken in their own way and came together and fixed each other..it had its ups and downs but then life does that as does a good book.

Charlie has literally been through HELL and back! This poor girl lost everything when she was young!!!! She's a fighter though supporting herself while in college and has a little aversion to "relationships." What she wasn't expecting was the nightmares she was having to actually bring to the light the one person she couldn't forget even though she was told that was a figment of her imagination. Nope Joe is no figment of the imagination. He leaves her his bar and oh and something else she didn't know about either. Talk about doing this..................................

Yes this boy is BAD in an oh so good way ladies ;) Well Jammer is back in town and decides to "pop" in and say Hi to Joe boy was he in for a surprise...........

Oh and some changes ;) Jammers hasn't had the "best" life growing up but his background, when it comes out, left me stunned. Yes this bad boy made a vow to help Charlie regardless if she wanted it or not but he didn't expect that he would actually....... Well you will find out when you read Hustle Me.

There were parts of this book that I .....................

They say the truth shall set you free….but what happens when the truth reveals most of what you know about your life has really been a lie.

Ms. Foor did an amazing job with this story, it was layered, well developed and she managed to overlap a number of twists and turns in a believable fashion.

Jammer, aka John Thomas has been on his own since he was a teenager. Jammer’s realization of what his father truly did for a living was the catalyst for his departure at seventeen. When Jammer leaves home to escape his father, he meets a stranger who teaches him how to shoot pool; this rebel young man takes this game knowledge and becomes a hustler. Jammer makes just enough money to survive and never gets attached to anything or anyone. It’s just Jammer and his stick!

Charlie aka Charlene has not had an easy life but she has managed to put her head down to study and gets a scholarship into the college she has always wanted to attend.

Just when this beautiful young lady gets things on track, Charlie is faced with a lie from the past and a new reality that turns her life upside down.

This new life is not what Charlie expected for herself; it brings unexpected changes, a completely new life plan and puts her face to face with Jammer.

The chemistry between Charlie and Jammer is tangible. As they both start to accept what they feel for each other the reader can truly feel how different this is for the two of them. And when they do get together the sex is hot; the connection explosive.

I was rooting for Jammer and Charlie and as Ms. Foor continues to expand the connection these two share, the reader is taken on a journey of exploration that is engaging and makes for a can’t put me down read.

What happens when the man Jammer ran from at seventeen becomes the very thing that could destroy what Jammer thought he would never find and is now the one thing Jammer can’t imagine living without?

I do not want to give away any of this wonderful woven story, I truly want the reader to experience this journey! And that is the only reason this review is on the short side I truly encourage you to pick up this book!

The end of this story will warm your heart! I loved not only the end given to Jammer and Charlie but also the use of secondary characters like Jammer’s Mom.

Please note: this book is listed a part of a series but is a complete story!!!

    ******* Between 3.5-4 stars******

I was on the fence with this one through most of the story, but overall I ended up liking it more than I disliked it. It's kind of a first half and second half review, because I definitely had different feelings about it in the beginning than I did when it wrapped up. Jammer starts off a complete jerk, and I really struggled to like him as a possible love interest. He uses women then tosses them like trash, is conceited beyond the whole "sexy confidence" quality, and seems to think the world owes him something. Charlie, on the other hand, has just had her life turned upside down and has decided to let it turn her into a bitter, disgruntled woman, so she starts out acting irritable and bitchy in the story. Their attitudes, along with a storyline that was a bit far-fetched, had me wondering if I wanted to keep reading at times.

Thankfully, as secrets are revealed about Jammer's past and he and Charlie really start to open up to each other (which involved LOTS of steamy scenes, which I loved!), these characters became much more likable. Charlie is in a load of trouble and Jammer has withheld the truth from her out of fear that she'll leave him, The transition from angry acquaintances to sex buddies to romantic love happened a bit fast for my taste, but I appreciated the changes in both Jammer and Charlie's personality. Neither of them started out believing they were capable of such strong emotions, but I was invested in their feelings for each other as outside influences threatened to tear apart their happy life together.

Overall, though the storyline was underdeveloped and a bit disorganized, I was still intrigued with the suspense and some unexpected twists. I wish the ending had been given a little more time to play out because it was a little flat, but I'm glad I finished Jammer and Charlie's story and I definitely ended up rooting for them to walk off in the sunset together!

  • Dawn Kau at Up All Night Book Blog

I loved, loved, LOVED Jammer and Charlie’s story and couldn’t put it down!! I laughed and cried and cheered and wanted to do some damage a few times too! I love a book that can make me feel all that and leave me wanting to reread it right away so I can spend more time with the characters!

Charlie is a strong young woman with some serious past hurts that make her less than confident in believing someone could love her. Jammer is a tatted up, sexy billiards hustler with a smart mouth and he finds himself entwined in Charlie’s life while also dealing with his own issues. There are also some other key players that I came to love – Ryan, Jammer’s mom, Elle and Zach, Joseph. Stole my heart just a little. They all add so much to the complexity of the story.

I loved the dialogue between Jammer and Charlie! It was witty, sexy, and full of emotion.

    When they first meet:
    ---
He stuck out his hand. “I’m Jammer.”

“What kind of name is that?” It sounded ridiculous.

“It’s the name you’ll be calling out the next time you’re holding a shower head between your legs and wishing it was my mouth.”
    ---
Oh my…I just died laughing! And then the moments in between...Jammer certainly has a way with words. :)

“…Settling down was never an option for me. It wasn’t even a blip in my vocabulary. Now being without you for even five minutes makes me all fucked up in the head.” I grabbed her leg and pulled it up on my lap. “Are you a witch or something? Did you put a bitch spell on my and make me go soft?”

And yes, I was here a few times…

Even windshield wipers wouldn’t have been able to control my tears.

And then…well, you’ll have to read the book to find out! Add this one to your TBR list today!

I FEEL DAMN GOOD AFTER READING THIS

I also feel as if I just watched a feel good movie.

    In short, I LOVE IT.

The plot is new to me. I think this is the first time that I've enjoyed reading about a straight A pool hustler who's a guy (Kristen Ashely also had a pool hustler character but it's a girl). I can't believe that I loved this. Sure, the circumstances of their family ties were a bit complicated, but this doesn't change the fact that I enjoyed their interaction. Both characters are intersting in their own right. Charlie is a very smart, independent woman who dropped everything to run a bar and to take care of her brother. It was all so new to her, but she manageed to put on her big girl panties and strive to give her brother a good life. She has some issues about her past, but it was relatively small to me. Incidentally, her past is also tied with that of Jammer.

I didn't like Jammer at first. He's a douche and a hustler. Then he started to be the gentleman and then he also became the knight in shining armor. He's so sweet to Charlie that I couldn't help but be touched. He's also kinda hilarious. Most of the things that he says make me laugh hard. When they talk, they have fun... and me as a reader? I laugh with them. I love their little set up in that bar. It reminded me of Tina Reber's Love Unscripted... only, with a kid on the side. I love Ryan! His lines are just soooo cute and he makes both characters think more about the future.

The ending is satisfying. I love how it went. I wish that the next book would come out today. . . or tomorrow.. or you kow, just soon! :)

  • Stephanie

    WOW,
Jennifer Foor did it again! Not only did she add to the "Book Boyfriend" list she gave us a great story too.

Hustle Me is totally one HOT book hands down. But, it also told a really sweet story. It started off with an amazing an preface and then the story just continued to grab you. It is one of those books that you can't put down cause you just need to know how this going to end. You want it to end with a Happy Ever After, especially cause you will fall in love w/Charlie and Ryan. I totally felt they made the book and their story was just heart breaking and unbelievably sweet. Having Jammer thou didn't hurt one tiny bit (he is one hot boy). He had a mouth on him and he could win an award for his cockiness, but he was also super sweet and what he does for Charlie and Ryan is so damn sweet, words can't express it enough.

Jammer and Charlie learn what true love is and how it is so precious to have in your life and you should hold onto it no matter what. Taking a chance is scary but so worth it.

Hustle Me (Bank Shot Romance, #1) by Jennifer Foor

  • Reading with Tiffany🦋

I freaking love Jennifer Foor books you rock.

I found this book and read through so of the reviews before I bought it I saw a lot of mixed reviews. I bought it because I love Jennifer Foor books I must say that I am addicted to the Mitchell family.

After only reading the first two chapters I was hooked on the first night I was up until 3 in the morning reading (lol). Charlene (Charlie) is a had full I must say but you can’t help but to fall in love with her knowing what she has been through and is going through. She is a strong, beautiful, hard working, caring woman.

Charlie made John (Jammer) Thomas; want to be a better person for all of the right reasons. And he quickly found out that he could not live with her (or RY). Jammer stepped right up to the plate even before he found out the secrets from his parents.

Ryan what’s not to love that kid stole my heart the first time he opened the door and told Jammer that he couldn’t talk to strangers. Even at 4 he wants to protect his big sister. The cutest thing ever.

I love the ending I won’t spoil it for the reads but I love how Charlie and John got there family.

I cannot wait for Hustle Him in April!!!

  • Maggie

    I absolutely loved this!!!
This story is full of secrets and angst as well as a sexy tattooed billiards player and a feisty heroine.
I loved the banter between Jammer and Charlie, I have to admit that I didn't like the two very much in the beginning, but as their story unfolded and I learned about their past and saw how they made each better, I fell for the both of them. Ryan was also adorable!
Even the secondary characters were great, especially Jammer's mom and Charlie's friend Elle!

Hustle Me was exactly what I was craving! It was sexy, fun and full of angst.
    I'm so happy I read this! : D

  • Heidi

Wow and double wow! That was and awesome book. Charlie and Jammer were two seriously stuffed up people in their own right. But whatever brought them together be it destiny or devine right they were going to try to see things thru. “Wherever Charlie was is where I wanted to be”. Wow. What an awesome read. Def 5 stars for me. I loved the cocky self confidence of Jammer and the die hard attitude of Charlie. Some nice hot smokin stuff in there too. I can't wait for one of my Goodreads girls to do a review and find a seriously hot photo of what Jammer might look like with his tattoos and bad ass attitude! .....Lisa P.,Liz, JoJo.

  • Kitlina

I think this was one of the not so good books I've read this year. The first 70% of it were so stupid and the rest wasn't that better either.
Charlie's and Jammer's relationship was somewhat devoid of that spark. I didn't feel their chemistry. The inner monologue kept trying to hint to it but I couldn't feel it unfortunately.
And for all the talk about how Charlie was so different from the other girls who slept with Jammer from the first day she wasn't all that different, oh yes, she slept with him on the second day :))))
This book has not convinced me and I will give the author another chance with one of her stand alone books. Maybe things get better.

I'm obviously a big fan of Jennifer Foor's novels. I just finished reading Hustle Me (Bank Shot Romance # 1) and just like always it never failed me to enjoy every chapter reading it.

Its pretty devastating what happen to her in the past, for not meeting her real dad, foster home after foster home. Returning to the place where he met his good friend Joe there meeting is like a destiny. It was already written bound to happen before they even plan it.

I enjoyed reading every chapter of this book. I wonder "Hustle Him' will be good as the book 1.

I will be honest and say I am Jennifer Foor fan. It all started with the Mitchell Series which had me hooked and now I can't wait until the next book she's written comes out. If you like New Young Adult, then you'll love this. Jammer is a bad boy who falls hard and will do anything to help his girl! (((SIGH))).

There is a lot of hottness in the book and wow - not worked out who the next book in the series is about, but can't wait.

Thank you for another brilliant, hot read.

Jenn Foor is amazing, everything she writes is amazing. I loved this book!

Jammer I loved him and what's not to love he is a smart mouthed, hot tattoed man. I love a strong headed female character, Charlie didn't take crap and stood up for what she wanted. Jammer and Charlie together have an amazing connection and so HOT!!!

    Can't wait for book 2
