Big Bad Bunny Reviews

  • Bethlyn Allmey

Read this book with a reception class and they absolutely loved it! Would recommend.

  • Suzanne Lorraine Kunz Williams

I love how big bad bunny changes in the end and tries to make amends.

**Talking points - What would have happened to Big Bad Bunny if he had never met Wise Old Bunny? Have there been wise people who have showed you the light in your life and helped you back onto a good path? Who were they? Have you ever tried to straighten out someone else? What were the results?

This was the story of a bunny who kept robbing people, and then at the end he realized that he was wrong and he shouldn't do that. It was read to preschoolers, and they really liked it. They kept questioning why Big Bad Bunny couldn't just be nice and not steal from people. It's a good one to read to kids to let them know that stealing and other things is wrong, just in case they don't know that. And it's also good to let them know that even if they have done bad things or made a mistake they regret, they can always turn around and do things the right way.

This book wasn't appealing to my boys (ages 4 & 8). They weren't interested in reading it and didn't like how Big Bad Bunny was a bully.
They also wanted to know why Big Bad Bunny wanted everyone's money and it never says why. He has to ask for it so in the end he can go around and apologize to everyone. When he asked for money and the animal didn't have it, he'd take something else from them (corn from Chick, one little nut from Squirrel, and milk from Goat).

Big Bad Bunny wants money. But no one he encounters has any money. So he takes what they do have: corn from chick, milk from goat, nut from squirrel. Then he tries to rob the bank. But Wise Old Bunny has a surprise for Big Bad Bunny!

Had a great time reading this (and re-enacting the ending) with my nephew last weekend.

We were glad he was kind at the end! We liked it when he gave the things back. The pictures were really good.
