Trial by Fire (All Fired Up, #2) Reviews

Here we go again with another blockbuster from Ms. Lee. She’s one of my favorite authors because she always provides a powerful, stimulating situation with gorgeous heroes like Nate Stryker, heroines like Erin (a lucky girl who you wish you could walk a mile in her shoes) and other women like Laura who the author depicts so well that you can only love to hate. In “Trial by Fire” she sets up the story brilliantly with conflict after conflict. A man dies in a horrific way and his gorgeous wife finds the body – the same woman who was once married to Nate, the lead detective on the case – the only cop in the area who has the brilliance to be able to solve the gruesome killing. The plot continues to thicken with blazing sex and incredible situations that turn the story into a thriller that will capture your attention firmly until the end. Jealousy and intrigue lead to an investigation that turns the table on the big man in charge. So good!!!

I love the story of Nate and Erin. I could not put this book down. I can't wait for the next one to come out!!!!

Great book. Would’ve been 5 stars except editing errors and extra words such as “dunno know” in a sentence. Mystery, Action, and sex…can’t ask for more. Plus a new character added. Looking forward to book #3 in series.

This is a very enjoyable book. 2nd in the series. I love the characters. The story has plenty of twists and lots of goings on. Action, suspense, and romance. A great book to enjoy.

4****This is the 2nd book in a series and you need to read the 1st one because that is where we first meet Nate a bad ass cop and Erin a beautiful firefighter. In this book there has been a particularly gruesome murder. The victim is the multi millionaire husband of Laura who is also Nate's ex wife. At the start of this book I thought the killer was nasty by the end we see real evil. Not exactly a who done it because we find that out quite early but the story is how the police eventually solve it. Along with that is the ongoing love affair of Nate and Erin. Bring on book #3

I liked "Playing with Fire", although there were times the hero grated my nerves with his arrogance and cockiness. Now, Trial by Fire, I loved!!
I enjoyed the various points of view. The hero had a more protective side and less arrogance. The heroine stood her ground and voiced her thoughts which I loved. There was even the villain's point of view which makes the suspense more intriguing.
This is a GREAT series!! The love scenes are very sensual, appropriate considering the heroine's history. -
Bought this book since I enjoyed the first one so much and my only real complaint is I read it so fast! The main guy isn't as cocky this time around and it's nice to see things more from his point of view. While I didn't predict the murderer correctly, the real murderer was revealed early in my opinion.
Could have used a little bit more proof-reading, but I'm looking forward to the next book! -
Great book full of fantastic characters. A must read starting with "Playing with fire". The characters bring you right into the story and wrap you around them for the long haul. The 2nd book "Trial by fire" takes you deeper into how the characters live, love, and work. I can't wait for the 3rd book .

Styker is the epitome of bad-ass. This is turning out to be a really good series. The only fault I find is that sometimes, Nate's sarcastic rants, although funny, tend to go on a little to long. Every page doesn't have to be filled with his all-knowing, sarcastic, no one is better than me dialogue. Other than that.. edge of your seat drama and excitement.

Besides the never ending hero worship of the town and the hero's unattractive caveman tendencies...the racist undertones were offensive. Through out the book, a black man is referred to as 'Sam-the black man' through out the book. -
Badly written, seriously fire the editor because they don't know anything about grammar or sentence structure. A spell check wouldn't go astray either.
The story had potential in places but missed the mark with the female protagonist in believability. -
Really liked these characters, it's great to see a sequel full length novel with characters that you loved from the first book, that aren't just in the background and there will be a third book, yay!
-
i like this series! looking forward to continuing with these characters in 2013! Good mix of suspense, alpha male and humor!!!!
-
Second book in series great can't wait for third coming out this year. When you get to follow a group from book to book and to know them it makes you feel like your there. Great story

This is a good series.

3.5 stars!!!

Nate' s ex is wreaking havoc on CF and Nate's relationship with Erin. Best part of this book is the visiting LA cop, Sam. There is redundancy in the dialogue which is noticeable.

good story. memorable characters.
