The Bull Rider’s Manager (Bull Rider #2) Reviews

“The Bull Rider’s Manager” had me from the first line. How can you not like a book that begins “If flying was hell, waiting to fly was purgatory?” The best part is, the rest of the book was just as good.
Barb Carico, the woman in the title, is on her way to Vegas for a rodeo weekend where one of her clients is competing and where she hopes to get a sponsorship agreement for him from Hunter Martin, of Martin Dairies. Her bull rider doesn’t show for the flight leaving her to have dinner with Hunter, who has something of a reputation as a player in the dives and bars around Boise. Turns out, he’s hired a limo to take Barb out for dinner where they can talk business. Just the two of them.
Dinner is delicious. The wine and tequila flow and they end up at the Elvis chapel getting married. Then they have to face going home. That’s when the complications of their individual lives drive them to make an interesting bargain.
Hunter has custody of his orphaned niece, Kati, who he adores. But a distant relative has announced she wants custody because she can give Kati a two-parent home. Barb needs a substantial down payment to get her mother, who has Alzheimer’s, into an appropriate care setting. They agree to make the fake marriage seem real until after the custody hearing in exchange for the deposit for the care facility.
The best fake marriages face problems. Barb and Hunter’s face a long list: Barb’s slime-bag ex-husband, her growing affection for Kati and Kati’s for her, Barb’s mother and Kati hitting it off, the curiosity of the distant relative who uncovers the secret of Barb’s past, most of all the feelings Hunter and Barb have for each other but try to hide.
Cahoon skillfully portrays her characters and their conflicts, drawing the reader into the story and holding interest all the way through. Even though I know that a good romance novel always ends with happily-ever-after, there were times when I wondered how the author was going to get us there. But she did, with story-telling skill and a deft feel for the genre.
I was fortunate to receive an advance copy of this book from the author in exchange for a review. No money was involved and only my honest opinion was promised. -
What? I intended to do this so much later, but this Boston city girl who moved to Miami for the flavors is now thinking of packing her bags to go to a rodeo. I know nothing about Boise or farms, but the ancestors who arrived on this soil in 1607 knew. It must be in the DNA. Yep. I'm off.
I don't always read Western Romances. But A: Hunter is a good guy. He's old school hero in modern clothes. B: I love old school guys like this. So C: for the first review of this month... I'm hooked. Hunter is HOT and I will read anything when I'm attracted to the guy's manners and sexy good looks.
Barb isn't a salad eater. As a girl who hates salad eating twiggy types, she's already my new BFF. And she's good with the one liners.
This free review book was sent to me for an honest review, and in my honest opinion, it's my favorite book I've read in weeks.
Seriously how much are plane tickets to Boise? Hot and sexy heroes are hard to find. -
Scrumptious, fun and full of unexpected twists. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the characters in this book, even the bad guys – they are just so . . . bad! Lynn Cahoon gives the reader full-blooded, authentic characters, not just caricatures. There are moments with such depth of love and caring between the central couple and beyond, that I found myself swiping at tears – something very few books/authors do. This is a delightful read and will leave you with a warm, bright glow. Well done. This reviewer received an ARC from the author in return for an honest review, which is given as a professional courtesy and without monetary compensation.

Sometimes what happens in Vegas follows you home.
Barb didn't intend to get married on this business trip, especially not to Hunter, a potential sponsor for one of the bull riders she manages. But couple a few too many shots of tequila with a too handsome man? These "Fools Rush In" to have Elvis pronounce them husband and wife. They intend to annul it once back home, but three people with needs of their own change those plans.
This contemporary marriage-of-convenience worked for me, as the couple put their families' needs first. Fun and well-written with realistic characters and situations, the Bull Rider's Manager is a great second book in the Bull Rider series. -
The Bull Rider’s Manager by Lynn Cahoon is fun romance read that will keep you turning the pages to know more until the very end.
If you read The Bull Rider’s Brother, you may remember Barb as Lizzie’s best friend and hard working rodeo rider manager. Now Barb has to face a few facts of life she has been avoiding and gets her own HEA.
Barb is going to Vegas for another rodeo with Jesse and is going to try and win over a new sponsorship from Hunter Martin. But When Jesse doesn’t arrive at the airport she has to so a lot to keep Hunter interested without showing Jesse’s irresponsibility.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This was an intriguing story and I enjoyed it. Barb is a strong woman but makes the mistake of one too many shots of tequila. Who hasn’t right? I was a little suprised that she actually married Hunter at a Vegas chapel. I have been seriously drunk but never accidentally married.
It turns out for the best when they use the marriage to put the welfare of their loved ones first and discover that sometimes an accident can be the most powerful thing in the world.
I enjoyed this story, kittens and recommend it to all of you. -
This was a fun, sweet romance with all the right elements to make you sigh happily in the end. The characters were fully developed and delightful. The setting was richly described and I could almost taste the delicious baked goods that Barb made. I loved how hard Hunter was trying to be a dad to his niece and set aside his own personal desires to focus on the little girl at her time of transition. And as a daughter who's also dealing with a mother with dementia, Barb's struggle to do the right thing for her mom touched me deeply. This was a truly wonderful read and I can't wait for the rest of the book in the series.

The Bull Rider's Manager is the third book in the Shawnee Valley Series. Barb and Hunter find out that what happens in Vegas does not necessarily stay in Vegas. This is a delightful romance with charming characters who value family loyalty and love above all. The storyline is well written and sweet. I really enjoyed this wonderful story of a marriage of convenience that could end up as a forever love.
I read and reviewed a copy of this book with no obligation. -
