Scratching the Tiger's Belly is a new collection of writings by anarcho-surrealist author Ron Sakolsky: a radical mixtape of hidden histories, rebel poems, prickly rants, black humor, intoxicating adventures, razor sharp polemics, slyly subversive stories, provocative parables and ideas-in-action. Food for thought, ready to be washed down with the heady grog of mutiny!

This was a super fun read. After reading critical theory/Frankfurt School history, this was like dancing on the tops grass and flitting in and out of clouds. It was a joyous retreat from the heaviness of theory into the realm of art (surrealism) and anarchy! I really appreciated the writing (gave me lots of ideas), and the articles and poetry inside. I didn't realize Franklin Rosemont had died, but I remember meeting him at a book fair in Chicago in 2006. He was kind and very interesting to talk with; he had a lot of stories about Chicago radical history in particular. I guess this was written as a remembrance of him and his work. Very inspirational! A great read for the new year.
