I had several problems with this book. Don't get me wrong, the action (when the plot actually got to that part) was good and the case the team investigated was a very interesting and dangerous one, and worth writing about, but....Sometimes less is more, and in this case, I believe the book would be much more interesting without scorching sex scenes. Then there's the book title and the cover - when the book has absolutely nothing to do with Moscow, why put in there? Another major thing that just needed a proper research for this book is the name of the famous Russian river that is referred to in the story several times. Being a Russian native, and a person who actually grew in the city that this river runs through (just like one of the book's characters), I understand the average American reader won't know the difference, yet it was a problem for me: the name of the river (the Volkhov) and the name of the bad guy in the book (Volkov) DO have different spelling. Oh, and one more thing - Nikita is not a female Russian name at all (despite the famous song lyrics), but in fact a male name.
But on the whole, it was not a bad read with some interesting characters with intriguing background. -

I got this book in the ultimate mystery thriller horror boxset on the kindle for 99 cents. I went into the book thinking it was going to be a serious full on thriller and at the end of the book I found out it was classed as a romantic suspense, although I kinda figured that out fairly early on in the book.
I haven't laughed this hard while reading a book in such a long time, I just could not read it with a straight face. I honestly don't understand how anyone could read any sort of romance novel with a straight face but hey, that is just my opinion, whatever floats your boat!
This book to me was 99% bullshit romance, 1% suspense and 100% comical. I have to say that romance novels really aren't my bag, this is only the second romance novel I have read in my life, the other being 50 shades of grey and the only reason I read that was because, someone bought it for me at the supermarket cheap thinking I would enjoy it (it's the thought that counts), so I felt obliged to read it and it was utter pus.
In saying all this though I was an easy read and I could definitely see someone who was into romance novels enjoying it. They just aren't my thing but I have to admit I did enjoy the laughs it gave me, although I would never go out of my way to deliberately spend money on a romance novel, not matter how little it cost. I gave it 2 stars because of the laughs I enjoyed. -
Rafe and Nicki, two highly trained special operations operators join forces in Rafe's company ISA in The Moscow Affair.
Nicki's father asked Rafe to keep Nicki safe as part of his highly trained team to International Crime Problem-Solver Team, using her unique skills as an investigator. They take on a case to investigate, find and rescue three high profile daughters of public figures that have disappeared.
The investigation leads to a Russian want-to-be mobster, an egocentric soulless gang leader with his gang of thugs and a plot to blackmail the families and then auction of the young women to the highest bidder in the human traffic trade.
To find out what happens after Nicki is captured by the Russian and added to the auction at a secret location; you will have to read this exciting story to find out what happens? Will Rafe and his team rescue Nicki and the girls? Do they capture the bad guys and hand them over to authorities or do they escape? What happens to the girls? I'm not telling if this is happy ending or not; just read it yourself to find out ~ it is worth is and a great fast paced story with lots of action and oh yes, a great love story too is started. -
This is a sizzling romantic suspense story! This book has a strong plot, with strong, compelling characters and I highly recommend it! It is full of high action, tons of sexual tension, suspense, and steamy descriptive sex scenes. It was very hard to put this book down! Sexy alpha men paired with strong willful women always makes for a great read in my opinion! I got this book when it happened to be free on Amazon and when I downloaded it, it was called The Volkov Affair. Same book, just different titles. A Book Junky's Obsession -

Great characters. An even better plot and premise. So why only three stars?
Well, call me a prude, but I thought it was a little more "steamy" than necessary to advance the plot. I get it that there was a lot of testosterone flowing in Rafe and the entry of our little heroine, Nicki, was going to light a fire. But, I think the author could have left a lot more to the imagination and we would have all been just fine. The banter between the rest of the men and Nicki did make it bearable.
And in the climax I fealty we needed a little more action from the tough and elite ISA guys. I guess I got a little bit of an education about this type of book. So in the end I am wiser for it. -
4**** A sexy thriller. The spoiled and pampered daughters of some rich and powerful men have disappeared. Is it kidnapping or white slavery? Nicki is a highly trained woman who knows she is the right person to help but she has to convince her incredibly sexy boss. Rafe can't even think of putting her in that much danger. We have villains of the worst kind , lots of action and some very sexy scenes in this book. One of the things I like best about this author is the story always wins over the sex.

I think I might be a bit generous with my 2 star rating, but gave it such because maybe it was just not the right book for me. The story is about Rafe and Nicki, who work as special agents, and Rafe is the boss. They receive a case in which wealthy girls are being kidnapped to be auctioned to the highest bidder. In the office, of course everyone is amazingly beautiful and Nicki is gorgeous badass virgin (at 24 y.o. I think). The banter between Rafe and Nicki lacked for me, and I greatly disliked the dialogue throughout the book. Not my kind of book.

high action, slight suspense, lots of sexual tension. GREAT MC'S!!
not the typical mushy thrill chaser read. a little dark as it is centered around human trafficking. a little too far fetched with the whole delta team 'I got friends in high and low places' but it did add some intrigue.
a good cold weather read, but some parts will leave your heart racing so don't attempt to read in public -
Liked the crime part. Although I often would've liked to get a little more background or details. The romance part often seemed too dominant for my taste. But that might depend on what you're looking for. I've been reading this as part of a mystery collection and considering this I definitely expected more.

I have read this one several times. Something about Ms Lee's alpha males draws me in. Her heroine's are strong and independent and don't "need" men in their lives.

secret agents..human trafficking..ancient feud

All of Taylor Lee's are suspenseful and sexy
