    Young giraffes sometimes moo.

A pineapple is actually made up of a bunch of berries.

    Baby eels are called elvers.

Legend says that pirate treasure may be buried near The Statue of Liberty.

Astronauts say space smells like metal and seared steak.

There’s a beach in Hawaii with green sand.

There’s a forest of crooked trees in Poland.

Elephants can hear each other trumpet up to five miles away.

    Google was originally called BackRub.

Bees once made blue and green honey after picking up colorful waste from an M&M’s factory.

Lots of fascinating facts in these books. I then spent some time googling to see pictures of rainbow grasshoppers, glass frogs, purple crabs, blue tarantulas, and wombat poop. My only wish is that they'd given details behind the facts. Why IS wombat poop square?

  • Pat

It has lots of different and interesting facts like you can throw a ball six times further on the moon and that’s why I kept reading it because of all of the insane facts.

  • Meg McGregor

I really like learning new things from a "children's book!"

This was a very entertaining, and lavishly illustrated, book of trivia!

These little gems, of trivia, were my favorites.

    A. A Taiwanese airline flies Hello Kitty - themed jets.

    B. Some wildflowers smell like chocolate.

    C. Sunsets, on Mars, are blue.

    D. Fingerprints can last for up to 40 years on paper.

    E. Astraphobia is the fear of thunder and lightning.

    F. Nighttime rainbows are common at Yosemite National Park, in California.

    G. Fireflies can glow yellow, green, or orange.

    H. There's a 90 percent chance parents, will steal, some of their children's, Halloween candy.

    I. Strawberries are members of the rose family.

    J. Alpaca moms hum to comfort their babies.

As Lord Byron wrote, "Tis strange - but true; for truth is always strange; Stranger than fiction."

This book is filled with unusual and crazy fun facts. Wonderful for the child that "hates" to read. The information is not really organized or useful in any way, but still entertaining. I think this book would be great for a long car ride or a quick silent reading period. Who knows...you might learn something new.

  • Natalie

    I LOVE these books!

    Did you know....

*A Taiwanese airline flies Hello Kitty themed jets.

*Giraffe hooves are the size of dinner plates.

*The average home produces more air pollution than a car.

*Astraphobia is the fear of thunder and lightening.

So many fun facts on brightly colored pages. The kids love reading these and so do I! Recommended for adults and kids alike.

  • Atlantis

A fun book for early readers to flip through and read aloud. Fun facts on every page to learn and talk about. Donated to my LFL.

This book talks about the all the crazy things you could never have imagined. Some of these things might not seem real, but trust me they are real! There are realistic facts in this book that happens all around the world. For example, "billions of years ago, earth reached 3,700 F. that's seven times hotter than a barbecue grill at a cookout". Awesome right, and realistic.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn new things or wants to see what is happening around the world today.
