Complete World Knowledge (Complete World Knowledge #1-3) Reviews

There is so much wonderful, specific insanity in these books. If you love, for example, seasons four through eight of The Simpsons and 30 Rock, this will make you laugh until you scream.

Like most people who will pick up this trilogy, I am a big fan of Hodgman's appearances on the Daily Show. His skits are funny, clever and witty.
The Hodgeman Boxed set is a collection of all three of Hodgman's fake trivia books on world knowledge. A whopping 1000+ pages. Unfortunately, 100 pages in I realized that I had made a terrible terrible mistake.
Not only is the book boring, unimaginative, and downright unfunny, but it's so PACKED with nonsense that it makes it incredibly tiresome and difficult to pay attention to his pointless ramblings. I expected something a little more intellectual from Hodgman. Even at the top of every page is a "fact" on each day of the year with completely breaks the continuity. Also, making such blatant fun of hobos is offensive, and dedicating such long chapters to boring subjects such as "mole men" and "ragnarok" only makes things worse.
So, why did I choose to finish the remaining 900+ pages? Because the only thing more worthless than this book is my sense of priorities. Shame on me.
The point is that Neil Gaiman was right -- if you see Hodgman on the street, kill him.
