The Wit and Wisdom of Ronald Reagan Reviews

This is a short but powerful collection of Reagan’s thought on a variety of different topics. It only takes an hour to two to read but it is time well spent learning from a truly great man who lived a good life and made a positive difference in this world.

Favorite Quote: “It is time for us to realize that we are too great a nation to limit ourselves to small dreams. We're not, as some would have us believe, doomed to an inevitable decline. I do not believe in a fate that will fall on us no matter what we do. I do believe in a fate that will fall on us if we do nothing. So, with all the creative energy at our command, let us begin
an era of national renewal. Let us renew our determination, our courage, and our strength. And let us renew our faith and our hope. We have every right to dream heroic dreams.
Those who say that we're in a time when there are no heroes, they just don't know where to look.”

I should have read through the cover more carefully as I didn't realize the whole book was nothing but quotes. However, in typically Reagan fashion there were a lot of golden nuggets in there. It was a nice quick easy read if you are looking for something different to read.

It truly is amazing just how well Ronald Reagan could communicate such complex ideas in a sound bite. He truly was "The Great Communicator", and this book shows the greatest examples of his skill.

The Reagan quotes are 5 bill-stars. (duh) The book format is 3 bill-stars. So, do the math, and that's a 4 bill-star book. The format of this book is archaic. A fairly raw collection of quotes is basically a web page now, right? With larger pages and color photographs, this would make a good coffee table book.

En homage to the greatest president of my lifetime, I'll skip my usual Quote of the Day (QOTD). President Reagan has too many great quotes and thoughts for me to choose just one or two.

    A good read.
    thanks... yow, bill

There are some powerful words in this short book. Definitely quotes to make you think and some to make you chuckle. Worth a read!

  • Diane

Good little book for fast quotes, but reading the story behind the quotes is more enjoyable.

  • Don

This was a short collection of quotations by and about President Reagan. It was an interesting glimpse into his life and personal philosophies.

book #1 down for the summer internship😏

It's a quote book, but it's Reagan. Reagan wasn't a God, wasn't even a perfect President, but he was good. The thing that made Reagan unique was his optimism and belief in a better tomorrow. It's why he won in landslide victories for President, it's why people liked him so much. You'd think many of our politicians today could figure this out, but that would require them to actually step back from their own personalities and arrogance. Few can do this. Quick and easy read, and much worth your time if you liked Reagan.

    A worthy read.
