Why is Wes Bennett so perfect, and where can I find someone just like him? 🥺 It was so sweet to revisit them again in Wes & Liz's College Road Trip - Wes and Liz are that couple that no matter what they're up to, they bring a smile to my face. 🥰🥰 I loved that it was in dual POV - limited as these glimpses were, Liz is still head over heels in love - admitting it, is just another step to show it. 🩷🩷

Wes is just so sweet and charming and relaxed and confident, ugh - he really is too good to be true! 😭 It's in the little things that we get to see just how much he cares for her, just not too sure how to say it back. Because she is it for him - the girl who can turn him into a Taylor Swift fan - that moment, when he 'realized that Liz was a fucking Taylor Swift song'. They are the definition of 'enemies-to-lovers - it’s our trope', and they have my heart, simply for how well they embody it. 🥹🥹

As always, I LOVE the little movie quotes and song lyrics, Lynn Painter includes - it's such a brief short story of four parts, but she captured their next level of intimacy and fierce want. ❤️🔥❤️🔥 When Wes was one potent drug moving his sinful hands to the tunes when you move, I'm moved - I was a puddle of feels. 🫠🫠🫠 . Ms. Painter always successfully maintains that wonderful balance between playful yet flirty vibes, and that emotional tug towards the unforeseen future that lies ahead of them in their new step towards college. 🤌🏻🤌🏻 -

This would have to be, the bestest short story I’ve EVER read!!! I love Wes and Liz so much!! I need the sequel right this instant!!! -
It pained me to think something so insane, but that morning, as she’d subjected me to an endless T-Swift playlist, I realized that Liz was a fucking Taylor Swift song.
What is better than a story told from Wes and Liz’s perspective? We escort them on their road trip to college, where they rescue a cat from a cornland, do share-tattoos, express their deeper feelings, and reflect on the new chapter they’re about to start.
Sweet and, for me, very important for the series. The only thing I disliked was the length of the chapter. It keeps me wanting more of Liz and Wes. What is happening to me!? Never felt like this for a young adult series, and I regret profoundly starting it right now when part two comes next year! I can’t wait that long! Somebody call 911! -

I’ve fallen in love with Wes & Liz’s story. So of course I would loooove to read extra content about them. I can never stop smiling whenever I think of Wes & Liz. They’re so adorable and just meant to be.
College Road Trip? Ohmygosh, sound exciting!! This book talks about their road trip to UCLA. And it’s of course so romantic cute.

(You’ve been warned)
First scene is about them having toilet brakes and racing to the bathroom. Immature, but still, it’s Wes and Liz, so who cares, right? And while waiting for Wes to finish his business, Liz saw an injured stray cat peeking out behind something. And then fast forward, Wes saw it too and was like..how do we help? How do we bring it (he called the cat Mr Ugly and bunch of other weird names) in the car when Mr Fitzpervert is in it? And he was so cute! He hold the cat through out the journey even got scratches from it.
And skip forward to the part where Liz’s father won’t give them privacy- thank god, because I really don’t want to read smut. There are a lot of scenes in this book so I skipped few lines.
Liz finally said the three words to Wes and guess what our Prince Charming said? SAME! lmao lmao, hilarious Wessy. Its so funny to read his thought in his pov. How stupid he thought he was when Liz just thinks that maybe he wasn’t ready for it.
Something I hate about couples or friends is that they get matching tattoos. Ink. Permanent. On. Their. Body. Something that remind each of them about their friendship/ partner. Like, what if you broke up? Fought? Ever think of that? But since it’s Wes And Liz, I’ll cover one eye and let them have their own moment.
So let’s just skip forward to the part where they have their last meal before they drive to UCLA and wave goodbye to their high school life. Mr Buxbaum, Helena, Wes and Liz were in a restaurant and waiting to order. And then Wes got a phone from his mother and then Liz suddenly felt that emptiness: she missed her mom and all thought about how she weren’t there to celebrate her and go to college trip with her. Then she went to the bathroom and cried. All sorts of thoughts surround her and she felt sad. Our hilarious Helena came in and comfort her. Omg this is the cute part but a bit weird:
Helena texted Wes and said: it’s time
And Wes came to the bathroom and saw Little Liz crying. Helena told Liz that they had something for her. And guess what? An app for Liz to see her mother’s grave.
And guess who made that happened? Her father. ooo it’s too cute. But….
All of this happened in the females bathroom. Can you imagine? Helena blocked everyone (females) who wants to go to the bathroom by saying “Angelina Jolie is in the toilet, we need a just a minute.”
I mean…it would more romantic if he told her while they’re back at the table, not in a freaking toilet omg. But anywho, it’s Wes and Liz…so…we don’t care, do we?

Their story is just too cute. Wes and Liz are perfect. Soulmates. I love them. I recommend to read so you know more about what happened during their ride to UCLA. There’s a lot of their romantic scenes, and just skip some lines if you don’t like reading those stuff. Otherwise, this book is so good, so in love right now. The songs and everything, ugh, masterpiece.

I need to confess I only read a little bit of this and probably will never finish it because the PDF font is SO SMALL, LYNN CMON. But I did love what I read, and I didn’t want to wait because what if they take it off goodreads again?? So…enjoy my review that is actually based of BTTM itself and just a pinch of this novella.
There is something about Wes Bennet’s humour that is so smooth and charming and sly without the creepy undertone the average YA love triangle man gives me. I love him, I love his humour, I love Lizwes, I love this universe. And most of y’all, Lynn, I love you. 🫶
Wes can manage to be funny and flirty and sweet without that weird sex-based joking mechanism that I see in um…their name rhymes with Shameson Shawthorne. And when Wes’ humour does go a bit further it’s not to the point where Liz is uncomfortable or something. (I mean in BTTM she was, but that’s because she was in denial about liking him.) And honestly, I really like that. Too often there’s this teenage boy in a book who’s supposed to have exemplary humour and then it’s all “that’s what she said jokes”. (which are only funny when i say them‼️) -
